Loved the Whole Series.

I started listening to the first book by picking the title at random. The storyline in the first book was a little slow and I wasn't sure I was going to like the series. By the second book, I was totally engrossed with the storyline, characters, and the performance of the Narrator. His ability to use different voices consistently for different characters was very entertaining. As soon as I finished one book, I was downloading the next. Luckily I didn't have to wait for the author to write the next book, I could just download it and listen! I loved the series and felt it came to a satisfactory conclusion. I hope you will too.

this series was amazing. Overall one of the best series I've read just sad it all had to end it book 9 however a lot there did an amazing job with closure and you feel content with how it ended and that there could be future books. with every great series it's hard to say goodbye but all good things must end.

9 books later.

This story was over all a good listen, that being said 9 books total? Why and before you ask. Yes i have them all, to tell a story that should have taken no more then 3 books maybe, okay 5 if you are greedy.

An excellent end to a great series

I have thoroughly enjoyed the ember war saga from start to finish. The series is an excellent blend of sci-fi, military action, humor and drama. I have come to love the characters within the series with the help of the amazing delivery of narrator Luke Daniels.

I have one criticism and that is how religion is portrayed in this series. It is clear that the author Richard Fox has clearly made Christianity the de facto good religion for both the characters in the book but humanity as a whole. The only other religion discussed for humanity is Islam and that was only in the context of how a ISIS caliphate conquered Europe for a time ( introducing draconian laws and oppression) until a literal crusade retook Europe. This to me was very jingoistic to sum up an entire religion's representation that way. The rise of some sort of Islamic boogie man in Europe and a series of wars with China (having taken place before the first book) where China committed numerous war crimes speaks of a very America centered view in world politics ( though this is not surprising for a West Point graduate in the author Richard Fox).

I know the bulk of my review has been focused on the negative but as this is the final book in the series I wanted to take the time to air that one but complex criticism.

Honestly loved this series and have been enjoying the Terran Armor Corps series as well. I am looking forward to reading more books set in the Ember War universe ( I haven't started any of the Terra Nova series yet) but I would like to see a bit more nuance given to humanity and society.and yes religion.

Characters can be a bit petulant

The characters seem a bit bratty and flat.
I enjoyed the series but I don't think it's worth 9 credits

Have really enjoyed the ride, Thanyou!

An incredible story that I was not expecting, wonderful story telling, I applaud you! It's nothing smart just good old captivating wonderful! It's not Peter Hamilton genius, that sets the bar.

good read

These stories are fairly short but enjoyable. The writing style sits well with me. It has some similarities to ones I have enjoyed in the past. I get starcraft vibes from the way some of the battles are described, which was fun.

This can almost fill the void left in my library by not having more helmsman series books from Bill Baldwin.

A fitting end to the Ember Wars

It’s a rare series that doesn’t just end on a whimper or just fade away - but the last book of the Ember War series is a strong as the first. Luke Daniels’ performance is flawless although the Australian accent is as excruciating as ever; it has at least been consistent through the 9 books! I’m off to read the side series now and see what else Richard Fox has in store in this amazing universe.

This NEEDS to be made into a movie Saga

I really think this would make a excellent movie sage to rival Starwars! There is no plot holes and everything is explained and worked out by the end...

If your considering this book you must have read the previous 8 and the finale does not disappoint, I loved the epilogue as well!
