Publisher's Summary

One wild night leads to heartache....

Tori Glen loves her new job as an image consultant for Thurston-Hughes Inc. The trouble is, she's also in love with the three brothers who own it: Oliver, Rory, and Callum. They're handsome, successful, aristocratic, and way out of this small-town Texas girl's league. So she remains a loyal professional - until the night she finds a heartbroken Oliver desperate for someone to love. Tori knows she should resist...but it's so tempting to give in.

And a desperate plan....

Callum and Rory have denied their desire for Tori, hoping she'll heal their older brother who was so brutalized by his late wife's betrayal. But when Oliver cruelly turns Tori away in the harsh light of day, she tenders her resignation. Rory and Callum realize that to save their brother, they must embrace the unconventional sort of family they've always wanted-with Tori at its center. And it all starts with seducing her.

That could lead to happily ever after-or murder.

Isolated with the brothers at an elegant English country manor, they begin awakening Tori to the most sensual of pleasure. But consumed with regret, Oliver won't be denied the chance to embrace the only woman worth the risk of loving again. What begins as a rivalry veers toward the future they've only dared to dream of. But a stranger is watching and waiting for a chance at revenge. Can the brothers come together to embrace the woman they love and defeat a killer?

One-Trck Pony

My first read from Shayla Black/Lexi Blake was the Heavenly story. The plot, the character development, the arch, the cliffhanger...they a!! worked amazingly well to form this fantastical journey, which I've re-read twice more now. Which led me to explore the Raine/Liam/Hammer story. As I wrote i a separate review, it was ridiculously painful to finish. I didn't care what happened to these characters.

But now, after listening to Their Virgin Mistress, the problem is clear. These writers use the exact same plot layout for every book. What works so well for the Heavenly story (can never remember the actual name) is apparently standard fare for Black & Blake. I wonder if they have numbered post-its above their laptops...

1. Make lead female completely beguiling to the lead men.
2. Humiliate the lead female. Break her character down until she seems fit only to pick boots.
3. Have the lead male's humiliated her further, then rescue her with sex.

Sigh. Other than patiently waiting for the next Heavenly book, I think I'm done with these two. I just can't.

The pattern is just too predictable.

Also, Aiden Snow? Really, brother? The horrific attempts at accents...You couldn't even take a quick language semester or Rosetta Stone that sh+t?! I'm offended...and I'm not even ENGLISH!!

Kinky with BDSM

If you like kinky erotica and/ or BDSM, this book is for you. MmmF menage; D/s; a**play; toys, etc.

Set in a (imaginary) foreign land and a Royal household complete with princes.

Story is part of a series but could be read as a standalone.

Just eh

I've enjoyed other Lexi Blake series and decided to try this one out during a sale. I was left very disappointed. The audible played like a bad, cheap porno thanks to very dry narration, and the story was just predictable and boring. there were many parts that made it feel they were written in as afterthoughts for filler. I did listen to this as a stand alone, but didn't feel I needed the other books at all for background.
Maybe it was the team writing of this, but I won't be back for more.

this series is a must read!

love this series! I hope Clare gets a story told about her.... and don't forget about those 5 cousins! I loved reading how Oliver healed and overcame his past. loved that Clare could be powerful, feminine and compassionate. I feel like Rory is the silent glue that held them all together. Callums character was full of pleasant surprises.

meh narrator

The story was good, but the narrator was pretty robotic sounding. It was difficult at times to focus on the story

Accent?

The story was great but the narrator REALLY should not put on a British accent.
