Publisher's Summary

In Maywood Heights, stars burn bright. They fall even harder.

They call them the Court, an elite boys club who rule Windsor Preparatory Academy like gods among men. And, of course, they're led by Hercules himself.

Royal Prinze - yes, that's actually his name - walks around both the school and the town like he owns them. His affiliation to the prestigious Court only gives him more clout. These boys do anything they want. They take anything they want, and they f--k anything they want...in that order.

Then there's me.

I came to Maywood Heights to live with my virtually indifferent father because my sister went AWOL. She chose to stay with him after our parents' divorce when we were kids, and I haven't seen or heard from her since summer began. The last thing I imagined when enrolling at her school was that she'd be connected to a group like the Court and boys like Royal. She's nothing like them and so much better than Royal and his elitist attitude.

So, why then are they saying he's her best friend?

Warning: This enemies-to-lovers high-school romance contains some dark themes and light bullying. The book is not a stand-alone and is book one in a four-part series of full-length novels. Royal Prinze is the only hero of this tale...good luck getting him to share.

Enemies to lovers with mystery

This is truly one of those guilty pleasure books you can’t wait to tell your book friends about. It’s a little bit of drama, a little bit of sexy but it’s the underlying mystery through the whole book that just sets this one apart. Once you start you will not be able to stop just get comfortable and enjoy the ride. I think this series will be absolutely brilliant.

Kasi Hollowell pulls off slightly naive high school girl with a past so flipping well.

What would you do for your sister?

December moved across the country to hopefully get her sister to come back home. I’m this new world, she now goes to a private school run by “The Court”.

Does The Court know where her sister is? How close was her sister to these guys? Will her sister come back home now that December is there?

Lots of twists and turns

This is a good start to a series and not a stand alone. It ends in a cliffhanger. It's darker and not a light and fluffy read but very intriguing and keeps you guessing. I do wish we had Royal's POV but the narration is done well and it's a good story.

Emotional rollercoaster

An emotion- and suspense-filled romance, 'They The Pretty Stars' will captivate you from beginning to end. My heart soared and sank with December's as she trekked the social hierarchy of Windsor Academy, where the guys of "The Court" ruled the school. In search of her sister, she got more than she ever thought possible. Dark pasts, new revelations, and secrets come to light that cause a severe back and forth with the head of the Court, Royal. Their relationship is complicated, but I see where a lot of growth can happen in future books. I've already bought the next audiobook and am halfway through it.

What an emotional rollercoaster. I can't say I haven't shed a few tears, which us a testament to the author's storytelling and well-written books. I highly recommend this series. I love to hate some of these characters. ❤ And I adore the MC. Five Stars!

Rich, arrogant, and a member of a secretive society, Royal can’t stay away from December, even as long- held secrets are beginning to unravel.

Exciting High School Drama

I received this audobook free for an honest review, as a member of the Pink Flamingo Productions Review Team. First, this is a cliffhanger. Second, it is an excellent story about unusual high school drama. At least from my optic, it is unusual. The poor girl goes to a rich school and is partly an outcast. But because of her missing sister's relationship with the "Court", she is sometimes accepted by the cool kids and sometimes not. Her relationship with the head of the Court, Royal, is tumultuous. However, the secret of her sister's disappearance is the overall mystery of this story. And the relationship between December and Royal is the romance mystery. The author does an excellent job of building the story and making it suspenseful. The narrator did an awesome job with the characters and their personalities.

loved it!

young adult romances are usually packed with intense feelings.. 1st loves, loss, conflicts with parents, learning, building yourself into the person you will be for the rest of your life.. and this book is no exception. i loved the way it's written, i could imagine every scene in my head like i was watching a movie. the narrator was perfect for the role. she was a bit breathy, but it's probably just an editing issue. she was really brilliant and very expressive. i received a free copy of this audiobook.

They The Pretty Stars
By Eden O’Neill
Narrated by Kasi Hollowell.

This is the first book in the court high series.

An enemies to lovers story which contains some dark themes.

This is the first book of Eden’s I've listened to and I enjoyed it. Kasi did a great job bringing the characters to life. The book does end on a cliff hanger which is no surprise as it’s the first of four book. Book 2 in the series is Illusions That May if you want to continue the story.
I loved the blossoming romance between Royal and December and I can't wait to find out what happens next. This was an excellent start to the High Court series and I would recommend it.

They the Pretty Stars

Wow I was not expecting that ending! This book started off as a mystery. December decides to go live with her estranged father, after her sister goes MIA. Her sister is known for going off the grid for weeks at a time and showing back up weeks later. December feels different about this time. At the end of the book December learns some news about her sister, but it now opens up some many more questions. This book ends on one heck of a cliffhanger! Can't wait to start book 2.

Emotional Rollercoaster

I was hooked from the first page! Such an amazing story that takes you on a wonderful, emotional rollercoaster. This is the first book I have listened to by this author, Eden brings her characters to life with beautiful writing and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I will definitely be seeking out more of her books.

The narrator really suits the characters with the right emotions and tones for each scene making it very easy to get engrossed in this story.

Classic trope with a twist

This story had some well-used themes, but with some twists that made it more original.
Overall I enjoyed the story, though it was pretty fast-paced and did lack some details that made me question some of the things happening. But the twists and turns in the story (especially some really great flashbacks, that gave us insight into the MCs earlier life) made up for that in my eyes. And hopefully the second book will answer some more questions.
The narrator did an amazing job, with a nice, smooth voice and great change in tone depending on the character.
I'd recommend this for anyone wanting to listen to something a little mysterious, with hate-to-lovers-theme.
