Story
Game theory means rigorous strategic thinking. It’s the art of anticipating your opponent’s next moves, knowing full well that your rival is trying to do the same thing to you. Though parts of game theory involve simple common sense, much is counterintuitive, and it can only be mastered by developing a new way of seeing the world. Using a diverse array of rich case studies - from pop culture, TV, movies, sports, politics, and history - the authors show how nearly every business and personal interaction has a game-theory component to it.

Mr. Rochester lays out an extraordinarily compelling case which documents the enormous financial cost of current and past anti-black discrimination on African American households.

Story
When the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, the black community owned less than one percent of the United States' total wealth. More than 150 years later, that number has barely budged. The Color of Money pursues the persistence of this racial wealth gap by focusing on the generators of wealth in the black community: black banks. The catch-22 of black banking is that the very institutions needed to help communities escape the deep poverty caused by discrimination and segregation inevitably became victims of that same poverty.

Developing and implementing a strategy is the central task of a leader. A good strategy is a specific and coherent response to - and approach for - overcoming the obstacles to progress. A good strategy works by harnessing and applying power where it will have the greatest effect. Yet, Rumelt shows that there has been a growing and unfortunate tendency to equate Mom-and-apple-pie values, fluffy packages of buzzwords, motivational slogans, and financial goals with “strategy”.

Too technical for an audio book
What would have made Thinking Strategically better?
PDF's to accompany the audio.
Would you ever listen to anything by Avinash K. Dixit again?
Probably not, I would rather read it.
What didn’t you like about Mark Delgado’s performance?
A bit robotic.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It's technically a sound book, but not for audio, unless there are accompanying PDF documents. Narration could probably also have been better.

Good content best suited for printed book Not Audio
This book has good content. It touches on a number of mathematical theories and illustrates their application with examples. This is essentially the content of the book and helps you to organize your thoughts objectively when assessing scenarios.
I do not recommend it as an audiobook, however. There are references made to graphical examples aligned with explanations that I'd guess are available on printed or soft version (non audio) version of the book itself. This makes it difficult to follow at times.
Good option to read & perhaps combined with audio to compliment it.
