Publisher's Summary

Remy always knows the perfect time to give a boyfriend "The Speech" telling him it's over - after the initial romantic whirl, but before the reality of an actual relationship hits. Her friends tease that her boyfriend tally is nearing the triple digit mark, but she's a girl who knows just how to avoid any messy emotional entanglement. After all, she's had the example of her five-times-married mother to show her what not to do.

So what, then, is it about Dexter that makes it so hard for her to follow her own rules? He's everything she hates: messy, disorganized, much too vulnerable, impulsive, and worst of all, a musician like her father - the father Remy never knew, the father who wrote a famous song for her, the father who disappeared from her life.

Sarah Dessen's most captivating novel yet introduces readers to a girl who believes her heart is made of stone - and the boy who proves her wrong.

It was just okay.

I started this book before and I remember now why I didn't finish it. I understand and can even relate to Remy as a person. I feel like I was a lot like her in high school, but I feel like her personality is almost too over exaggerated. I understand that the author wants to paint her as this character who has a past and been hurt before, but it seems like every few lines she is reiterating the fact that she is not a typical girl/romantic. I never write reviews but I feel like I can't finish this book with how annoyingly anti-relationship she is and how she keeps expressing it over and over. WE GET IT, you don't normally open up and love people, but here is a guy who you are falling for...tell more about that instead of how "tough" you are the whole time.

I loved it I wish there was a way to have multiple people to speak different character parts but the story is great. I love Sarah Dessen!

Awesome book bad narrator

Read this book in my 20's so it's always been a favorite but I think the wrong narrator was chosen you can't distinguish between the female and the male characters
