Rating this book a 1 is liberal

I felt like the book had possibilities bet after 5 min I was proven wrong once again.. I love this kind of subject matter in many of the books I read, but this book tempts me to read love stories or paper back westerns only.
I hope I am getting the message through that this one is not worth your time to listen to it and if by chance you do listen Audible should give you 10 credits for the pain and suffering.
I hope I sold you on the idea that there is nothing in this book that's worth your time to listen.

Don't do it, narration was like Winnie the Pooh

Couldn't finish, ruined by the narration. no idea if the story is good, too distracting.

Very annoyed

Would you listen to Threatcon Delta again? Why?

No, I almost turned it off because the narrator was so annoying. He sound like he was on the edge of his seat and so excited to be narrating

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

No, but it may have been the terrible performance. I have enjoyed the previous books in this series.

Would you be willing to try another one of David Ledoux’s performances?

NO

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I normally hate to stop listening but in the case of this performance it was only my desire to hear the end of the story that kept me turning it back on everyday

I have listened to over 250 audio books, some of them multiple times and have never taken the time to write a review before. I noticed that this seemed to be an in-house production of some sort and that may have been the problem, choosing a less than top notch story teller. I hope this is not the shape of things to come

couldn't get past the narrator

I was very disappointed in the narration of the book. this book is read by a different narrator than the other books in the series. the narrator was way too over exuberant and tries too hard. I felt it was very hard to follow the story.

Good story hard listen.

Would you consider the audio edition of Threatcon Delta to be better than the print version?

The print version is always better than the audio edition but reading at 75mph is difficult.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes the story was quite good.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The halting cadence and variable inflection of David Ledoux made me think that I had mistakenly downloaded William Shatner reads Tolstoy. Perhaps it is just me but I won't be getting another book in the series unless the narrator changes.

the narrator tells the story

the narrator is trying to force the emotion and just not working for the story so it kills the story.

The most annoying read i have ever heard.

I think i listened to over 200 audio books and i cried when i listened to this guy read .
So much exclamations punctuations and expressions that i never paid attention to the actual story,just mesmerized by the .... I don't know what to call it or him.

What would have made Threatcon Delta better?

A bit more involvement by Kealey and let Scott Brick narrate. I vote for a redo.

Would you ever listen to anything by Andrew Britton again?

I have listened to all of the Britton's previous narrators which were a 1000% better.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Starting with the prologue it was sadness and disappointment. It was painful. I just wanted the get to the end to find out what happens to Kealey. The story was a little shallow unlike Britton's previous books.

Don't get the audio book. Read the real book.

Wrong narrator for this book

Would you try another book from Andrew Britton and/or David Ledoux?

The narrator for this novel David Ledoux is not a good choice as narrator of this book. Previous Ryan Kealy character novels were read by Christopher Lane and his voice is on target, but Mr. Ledoux has a "sing/song" way of speaking which I don't think fits the characters or settings of a Kealy novel

His delivery was not compatible with the main character

Let me save you 14 hours...

Some books you let play because you want to know what happens next. Others you let play because you want them to be over... it was hard to say what was more distracting with this story, the abnormally thin and disjointed plot, or the lumbering narration that reminded me of a slow-motion cross between Austin Powers having trouble controlling the volume of his voice, and Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker. I highly recommend skipping this one.
