Publisher's Summary

Police Chief Jane Hardy’s teenage son has been accused of a horrific crime - and three days of Jane’s memories have been stolen from her. In the gripping third installment of the Pelican Harbor series, the truth is finally coming out.

Chief of Police Jane Hardy plunges into the investigation of a house fire that claimed the life of a local woman as well as one of the firefighters. It’s clear the woman was murdered. But why? The unraveling of Jane’s personal life makes answers for the case even more difficult to find.

Then Jane’s fifteen-year-old son is accused of a terrible crime, and she has to decide if she can trust her ex, Reid, to help her prove Will’s innocence - and if she can trust Reid with her heart.

Three days of Jane’s past are missing from her memory, and that’s not all that’s been stolen from her. As she struggles to find the murderer and clear her son’s name, finding out what happened in those three days could change everything.

It all started with one little lie...but the truth is finally coming out.

Unexpected religious inundation

I really enjoyed the first two books and understood the story from the standpoint of having escaped a religious cult. However, this is the first book where the religion feels overdone and quite forced. I’m a life long Christian and was quickly bored by the constant religious message in the book. Previous books were more subtle and well written so they fit well. I can definitely see this being unattractive for many readers and may put them off from this book in the series.

Disappointing

This book seemed pretty unbelievable at times. Swimming in the rip tides to get to Gabriel just seemed ridiculous. It was disappointing after reading the others in this series. The ending was also ridiculous. Why all of a sudden is she pregnant at the end when earlier in the book she is talking about them being so careful to not get too passions before marriage? It just seemed thrown in there all of a sudden.

Stopped at Chapter 32

I cannot finish the book because it will not play from the end of chapter 32 to the end of the book.

Ummm...

I appreciate the absence of profanity and sex. Again, despite the narrator's nice voice, she does not distinguish between characters: male, female, young or old. Some of the text is repetitive, as if the author needed to increase her word count. Then the climax comes in a big rush with little explanation, leaving unanswered questions.

Loved Christian Aspect, but story drug on too long

I loved the Christian aspect of the book series. But the story drug on and on. By book three the characters and their voices were so annoying. The story line was weak.
