Publisher's Summary

An immense storm on the sun has flung four coronal mass ejections at the Earth.

That’s the news Neal Evans hears while hundreds of miles from home at a conference in Nevada. Will it cause only beautiful auroras to dance across the night sky or plunge technology back 100 years? As politicians and scientists debate, Neal drives north toward home.

On the family farm, Drake Evans is a happy high school freshman. Instead of staying home with his younger brother, Conner Evans has gone hunting. So, it’s party time for Drake!

As the world descends into darkness, Neal and Conner must confront panic, hunger, and fear on their long journeys home. Drake, alone on the farm, must become a man even before he unravels his teen years.

Great book

This was an exciting, suspenseful story. Great characters and relationships caught in a very real scenario. Sean Patrick Hopkins did a great job delivering written word with drama and accuracy.

Great story

What I liked:

• I liked that the story was told through three different viewpoints: Neal, Conner, and Drake.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt I was a part of the scenes with Neal, Conner, and Drake.
• The pacing of the story was neither too slow nor too fast.
• There was a smooth, coherent flow to this book.
• This story had a sad, but satisfying ending and was a great start for the rest of the series.
• I did not find this Christian apocalyptic book preachy. Religion was just a natural part of the characters' lives. No lectures.
• This was a clean read.

I bought the audiobook and the book. There were some errors in the book that the audio copy had fixed. The narrator did an excellent job.

I am looking forward to reading/listening to more of the Solar Storm Saga books, when they are published.

Great listen! One of the best survival books!

I listen to a fair number of survival / post-apocalyptic books, this is one of the best I've ever listen to! Exciting and well paced. The narrator also did a fantastic job.

The stage is set for the future after the CME

Good beginning, life after the solar storm begins on the farm. Looks like a war with a biker gang is in the future. The author has written a great series previously in "Through Many Fires". I hope this series is as good.
