Must-buy and listen to

As a tiny house builder, dweller, and designer, I can attest to the quality of the information offered. Very good at providing information on the various options available along with reasons why or why not to choose a particular option. This course is formatted to provide the information relevant to you and enable you to make the best decision for yourself.

The resources given will help you on your journey - it will probably be a long and arduous one - and this book will help you every step of the way. The most interesting part that I loved the most is the 5th chapter- Finishing Up- Things to Pay Attention To. It mentions some of the most common pitfalls of living and building a tiny home, as well as how to avoid them. This section of the course was very informative and well supported with documentation.

Andrew is an expert in the field. He provided a comprehensive book on everything you need to know- the effective techniques for designing, building, and living tiny homes. Thank you, Andrew, for providing this well-organized resource. It taught me a great deal about tiny homes and the hands-on experience of the instructor gives a real insight which is much more valuable than dry theoretical lectures. I feel this is really helpful as it provides a foundation map of the next steps.

If you are excited about tiny houses and how they may empower you this course is for you!

Two thumbs up!

I have been intensively researching tiny house living for several years. I have a collection of online bookmarks, e-journals, a few books, and notes taken at various jamborees. This book is close to replacing all of those. Andrew Berger has compiled a comprehensive and practical resource that will answer most of the questions that can be answered.

Throughout this book, you will learn everything that goes into a tiny home. You'll learn a little bit of everything so you can get acquainted with all of the elements of making and owning a tiny home, look over the "why" of living in a tiny home, learning about the design, and go over the materials that you need to procure to make a tiny home. Also, Andrew discusses some of the most common pitfalls of living and building a tiny home.

Once again he has done an excellent job going through all of the possible overwhelming options that could go into a tiny house. This covers everything that most people ask about. The information he presents is well worth the time and cost.

Overall, a very useful guide to have. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to build their tiny home.

5-star!

Are you curious about the Tiny House Project? Have no clue if you can pull it off or if it is even feasible? This book is a great starting point.

My husband didn't initially want a tiny house until I showed him this book. He found the portability of tiny homes appealing and the book's information answered questions for him about cost, construction needs, and adaptability. Great overview on systems and considerations. Covers options, pros, and cons, etc. A great starting point when you're just starting out and feeling that overwhelming "where do I start?" dread of what is essentially a very big undertaking.

Andrew's book is definitely a keeper and I will be referencing it throughout my building process. Great for a newbie like me. It covers every aspect of building a tiny, with clear and easy-to-understand instructions. I only wish I had purchased it earlier during my research phase.

I highly recommend this course for anyone in the early stages of planning a tiny house project. It will provide info to help you make decisions as to which heating system, toilet set up, water supply and grey water disposal system, etc. you may wish to use in your tiny house project.

Worth it

If you have worked in framing or have built a few cabins and sheds the quick and dirty way, this book will straighten you out about some of the important details, such as strapping or setting up a window frame for proper installation. These issues are important and easily overlooked. The section on selecting a trailer was particularly useful. There are some pitfalls you can avoid by doing this reading. Without the benefit of this author's experience, you might build a base for your small house on the trailer that later teaches you that it would have been worth studying this book.

Must-have and recommended

Definitely recommended! My husband and I have been working on our own tiny house. We were getting so tired of tiny home books that just had pictures for inspiration. We originally found this book at the library and when I found it on here I had to order it for my husband. It has very useful information for beginners to experts with a little bit of everything in it. It is one of my husband's favorite books. This is a must-have for anyone who is serious about building their own tiny home with their own hands.

Satisfied with this guidebook

If you have little familiarity with construction like I did, this is a great starting guide. It will walk you through the basic steps. Does not discuss a ton of layout and design methods for tiny houses, which I wasn't looking for. I had a layout already and wanted to know how to execute, and this book is great for just that. This will get you thinking on the right track so you know where further research is needed. Very satisfied.

Thumbs up

I purchased this book to help me flesh out the building details on a possible tiny house I am wanting to build. This resource was just what I was looking for. It is detailed with plenty of pictures and diagrams that help explain the process of plumbing, electrical, and well as general construction details. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to build their own tiny house or even those just thinking about it.

Excellent guidebook

This is an excellent guide for designing, building, and living a tiny house. As for me, I prefer a guide like this that tells me what works, what does not. He explains the pros and cons of different options for different scenarios. With the tools provided in this guide, I can use what I know, learn what I don't know, and make decisions on the construction of my place.

Detailed book

If you are into the tiny house movement or just wanting to see if you could even build one and what it would take then this is the book for you. I recommend this for anyone trying to live mortgage-free or just to have an option for a place to live while getting out of debt. The book is detailed and I have no construction skills but feel I could build a tiny house using this book.

Ultimate guide to tiny house building

Truly the ultimate guide to tiny house building and design. I have zero experience in construction, plumbing, electricity, anything! This guide tells you what you need to know, the rest is easy to google/youtube with the foundation of what you learn from this guide. I was scared I wouldn't understand it due to my lack of experience, but I was able to follow along very easily. He explains with just enough detail--the whys/hows. Highly recommend.

Good book

I found this book a delightful review of construction. Though it isn't full of blueprint and code specifics. It is full of all things one would need for getting the job done efficiently. Have fun with this one I'm going to.

Met my expectation

Great for getting the idea of living in a tiny home without having one. I'm about halfway through the book, and it definitely met my expectation.
