On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

*Death by Bullying*
Ryan was barely 18 yr. old. He was good looking, popular, and likeable, yet he chose to end his own life. Why? This is the story of the dark undercurrents that run deep in our society, where the domineering seek to control, and destroy others for the feelings of power it weilds. This was a good read, but left me feeling as if the book ended in the middle of a chapter.

Lacks pace; short and boring
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I didn't enjoy the story at all.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Surprise. It's sudden and feels unfinished.
What does Rachel Bavidge bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Good narrator with excellent character voices.
If this book were a film would you go see it?
No.
Any additional comments?
Strange little short. Didn't warm to the central police characters who seemed unnatural and contrived. Other characters were undeveloped and no sense of drama or tension. All in all, an unpleasant subject matter (teenage suicide) handled without empathy.
