Excellent anti-ghost story

Jerome was one of the few authors of his day to scoff openly at the Spiritualist Movement. This story is an excellent spoof on the ghost stories that were churned out by the thousand that are for the most part rightly forgotten since they were never worth the paper they wasted. Save the trees!

Jerome's style is a bit sarcastic and ironic as always. But I like it anyway.

A little gem!

Told in traditional style, these ghost stories are gentle, hilarious, and just fun.
For people just being introduced to this special genre, this is a good start: a laugh out loud collection!

Spooky but kind

Lovely stories with kindness as their background and ending on a thoughtful and upbeat note

Dreadful

If you're interested in wasting precious minutes of your life, listen to this. Truly awful - boring and uneventful.

Short and sweet

Jerome sends up the genre in classic style. No shudders but lots of fun.

This was not spooky at all - disappointed

I have been on an M.R. James binge and really enjoying the ghost stories since Christmas but this one just TOTALLY missed the mark.

When I bought this, I did not remember that Jerome K Jerome is a very humorous writer. Sad to say I did not enjoy it at all. I'm not even going to bother listening to the last one.
