We are all at our best when it counts. But what are we like when no one's looking? That's where character comes in - being consistent even when it doesn't seem to matter. Courage. Discipline. Vision. Endurance. Love. These character qualities are quickly becoming endangered. All too often we hear of marriages falling apart, governments lying, businesses cheating and scandals rocking the church. But with God's guidance and strength, we can maintain character that lasts.

It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find. While both men and women deserve both love and respect, in the midst of conflict the driving need for a woman is love and the driving need for a man is respect. Pete Greig is a worldwide authority and the face of a generation when it comes to prayer. One of the founders of the 24-7 Prayer movement, he has seen, experienced, and chronicled amazing works of God in the world. While you might imagine him to be puffed up, Pete Greig is entirely the opposite. He is enchanting, down-to-earth, friendly, and most of all, very normal - and yet he tells preposterous tales about prayer (and they're true). He is basically a regular dude who loves to talk with God.

Very practical advice and insight on prayer
I've been praying my whole life but always felt I just wasn't communing with God like I should. Bill Hybels does an excellent job breaking down many aspects of prayer like: Why we don't pray, How God is willing and able to hear and answer prayers, habits and how you can build them, how to pray more effectively, how to get answers to prayer... to name a few. Apparently learning for years that I should pray, repent, seek guidance... wasn't enough. I needed a user manual with detailed steps and I think I finally found one.

Perfect Title for Today's Lifestyle
I love this book, and I am sure that I will listen to it again. There wasn't a moment that I struggled to finish it, but like the book stresses that we need to make quiet time for God, I did just that when I chose to listen to it.. the most memorable part for me is chapter 14 (leadings).
Additionally, the author and narrator did justice to the book, pitch perfect, tone perfect, I felt like we were sitting and having a conversation.
Thanks.

Pastor Hybels does a great job both inspiring the reader to pray more and to provide practical ways to build and implement a richer time with God.
Over the years I have read many books on prayer but from my perspective this is one of the best. It is definitely worth the time to listen and I plan on going through it again in the next couple of weeks; this next time with my wife.

Excellent - a good challenge and reminder
Felt quite challenged by a lot of this; principally that busyness is the archenemy of healthy spirituality and prayerfulness. I need to slow down, make space - for God and others. Many guys (myself included) get too busy and even find our significance in the wrong busyness rather than in the presence of God and in our relationship with God. Great book, well read. Highly recommended.
