Publisher's Summary

No one is more surprised than Lord North when he returns from war to find his ex-fiancee in his ancestral home...working as a governess in a sexy, fiery new Wildes of Lindow Castle romance by New York Times best-selling author Eloisa James...

The handsome, rakish heir to a dukedom, Lord Roland Northbridge Wilde - known to his friends as North - left England two years ago after being jilted by Miss Diana Belgrave. He returns from war to find that he’s notorious: polite society has ruled him “too wild to wed”.

Diana never meant to tarnish North’s reputation or his heart, but in her rush to save a helpless child, there was no time to consider the consequences of working as a governess in Lindow Castle. Now everyone has drawn the worst conclusions about the child’s father, and Diana is left with bittersweet regret.

When North makes it clear that he still wants her for his own, scandal or no, Diana has to fight to keep from losing her heart to the man whom she still has no intention of marrying.

Yet North is returning a hardened warrior - and this is one battle he’s determined to win.

He wants Diana, and he’ll risk everything to call her his own.

The story I realized I didn’t want

It took me about as long as it took the characters to realize that they didn’t want titles or else couldn’t be together, to realize this story had little point. In a disgusting long time the heroine of the story attempts to be independent by rejecting every bit of help offered even when its logical. Our hero doesn’t take “no” for an answer and instead of learning the value of letting go, chases after the heroine because lust/love compels him. I get it love is rarely logical, but if someone is rejecting you repeatedly for something as arbitrary as a title then they don’t really love you. Worst is that positions within society in this book are treated like masks, you simply slip one on then boom you are a governess despite being really bad at the job or boom your a bar maid even you can’t make change properly.

Overall this story felt overly repetitive and a little irritating as it had our main characters act so oddly. Claiming one minute they’d never do something only for them to do it. Or repeat the same mantra of independence when they clearly couldn’t take care of themselves. It was frustrating and disappointing after the first book because this was a book I had thought I want. Sadly just like the characters it took most of the book to realize this wasn’t the story or even the characters I had thought I had wanted. I got a story I hadn’t wanted and they left a world they hadn’t wanted. At least someone (even if fictional) got what they truly wanted.

A Wilde Romp at Lindow Castle

I loved it! I laughed out loud so many times my friends looked at me like I had lost my mind and I laughed again! There were times that also garnered a tear of two. I am so in love with these Wilde heros I can't wait for the next one. I also enjoy Susan Duerden's narration. Sometimes female narrators make no difference in the tones of female and male characters but I really enjoyed this narration. North sounded very breathy and sensual, easily distinguished from Diana or the other feminine characters. Definitely recommending Too Wilde to Wed and looking forward to the next book in the series.

Not worth your credit

The Lady is betrothed to the Duke but chooses to leave him because her mother refuses to support her recently orphaned nephew (who is borne of noble blood himself and will one day be laird of some estate in Scotland). She becomes a governess at the Duke's home, sleeps with him and still refuses to be Duchess. This series falls short of my expectations of Eloisa James. Loved the Desperate Duchess series. This book is lame.

Disappointed

I was so excited and looking forward to this book. I rarely pre-order but did as soon as I saw this one was coming out. All I can think is she just was not feeling these characters and had a deadline to meet. I have always been a lover of all of her series and am hopeful of the next book being better.

Not a fan of Diana.

I generally love Eloisa James. And I love Susan Duerden as a narrator. I enjoyed Wilde in Love. However, I did not enjoy this book, and I did NOT like Diana as the heroine. And when I mean I did not like her, I mean I despised her. Poor, poor Diana. North wants to make her a duchess, but poor, poor Diana doesn't WANT to be a duchess. By the end of the book, I was wondering why North didn't just toss her out! She was whiny and unreasonable. The only redeeming factor was the wonderful narration, and surely Susan got tired of Diana as well!

Engaging romance

Thoroughly enjoyed this book on Audible. The story has quite a few unexpected twists and turns that kept me listening late into the night. I’m only giving the story 4 stars because I found the heroine confusing in her actions. Otherwise it was a very engaging story.

Heavy going...not worth a credit

Read Wilde in Love and was looking forward to the release of this book. What a disappointment. There was no depth to this book. Characters were shallow and the story slow and and without plot. The beginning was foggy with no definite story or plot. Don't waste your credit OR your $$$ on this book.

This book was just tedious

I really like Eloisa James but I did not like Diana. She was just silly. In my opinion it would have been better had North chosen another woman. She just did not make any sense to me. She let him take her virginity but did not want to marry him because he would be a duke. I found myself fast-forwarding to the end and the point.
I am hopeful that Lavina's story will be better than this one.

As usual Susan Duerden was easy to listen to.

Not among her best, engaging books

This story of a woman reluctant to become a duchess, but who isn’t quite sure who/what she is, has its moments. But it’s way too predictable & the story is rather simplistic. Duerden’s performance is admirable but could not save this book.

Absolutely Fantastic

This is a fantastic story. Eloisa James delivers a perfectly fitting story for North and Diana. These characters have plenty to sort out before finding their HEA . It is so worth the effort. Their chemistry is off the chart. The story flows and I love getting to know more about this Wilde family and friends. Susan Duerden's voice adds so much to this tail, I can't imagine not listening to this story. It is a must listen for any historical romance lover.
