Jonas kills people...with his mind. He reaches out, focuses for a moment, and feels a snap of pain between his eyes. Then his target falls over dead: a hole in the center of their brains. He is plagued by PTSD, finding solace, but not redemption, with the aid of prescribed cannabis. All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. Story
Lost in time, the town of Black Creek, Kentucky becomes home to temporal layers of people, creatures, and monsters from disparate eras. Journey beyond the time of humanity and witness the rewriting of mankind’s genesis. For Owen McCoy, a typical day on the job as head of security for Synergy, a research company conducting mysterious experiments, is boring at best. And that’s the way he likes it. Patrolling the Appalachian mountainside, where his now deceased father taught him how to hunt, is relaxing and connects him to the past.

Our favorite moments from The Tribe
Publisher's Summary
For Henry, a 17-year-old who feels no fear, the day starts like any other - homeless and alone on the streets of Boston. For Sarah, a 20-year-old college dropout, it’s an early morning serving donuts and coffee to commuters at North Station. Fate brings them together at the scene of a bank robbery, which they foil together, along with a mysterious and wealthy woman named Helen, who offers to reward them for their bravery.
But before they can reach Helen’s penthouse, they are assaulted by men and women from all walks of life, including police officers. Helen displays impressive fighting skills, fending off the attacks, allowing Henry and Sarah to make their escape - but they are spotted and pursued by the violent cult, out for Helen’s blood...and now theirs.
Racing through the streets of Boston, Sarah and Henry are propelled into a strange and ancient underworld where the impossible is real, where the old world still lives, and where the gods still walk among us. As the pair wages war against the killers hunting them, they discover the truth about who their deceased parents were, and that their lives could be far more exceptional than either believed possible...if they can survive the day.
With Tribe, number-one Audible and New York Times best-selling author Jeremy Robinson brings mythology to the modern world, combining his trademarked fast-paced action and well developed characters and taking them to new levels of craziness. It’s 300, John Wick, and Wonder Woman rolled into a new kind of literary insanity.

About the Creator
Jeremy Robinson is the New York Times best-selling and #1 Audible best-selling author of more than 60 novels, including Infinite, Project Nemesis, Alter, and The Others—winner of the 2019 Independent Audiobook Award for Science Fiction. Several of his novels are in development as movies and TV series and have been published in 13 languages. When not writing, he can be found illustrating monsters, kayaking the lakes of New Hampshire, gaming online with fans, or spending time with his wife, three kids, and his golden retriever Kenobi.

About the Performer
R. C. Bray has narrated over 300 audiobooks. He is the recipient of multiple industry awards including his Audie award-winning performance of Andy Weir’s The Martian, which continues to help make it one of the best-selling audiobooks of all time. When not skiing black diamonds backwards, enthralling onlookers with his parkour skills, and charging hard in the North Shore, R. C. can be found spinning yarns to make himself sound so much cooler than he truly is. He lives in New England with his gorgeous wife and three beautiful children.

Not what I expected . . .
Hard book for me to review, because it's not a genre that I normally "read". However, that't the main reason for my review. I want other readers to understand what they're getting, before they get it. I didn't understand that this is a fantasy book. The publisher's summary mentions gods, but I don't think it really alerts you to the fact this is all about the Greek gods and their children. Non-stop fighting through the book, which I know a lot of people like - but if you're going to get it, do understand what you're buying.
I only gave it 3 stars, (plus 5 for R.C Bray, of course), but if this is your genre of choice, it's probably a 5 star book. For me, it was actually a 2 star book, but I don't think it's fair for me to only give it 2 stars, when I failed to be sure I knew the genre before buying it. I like space sci fi, not fantasy, so I didn't really care for the book too much, and if had known what it was about, I wouldn't have listened to it.

THIS... IS... SPARTA!
What a rush man... It's fast, snappy and Mortal Kombat brutal laced with dark intelligent humour. Henry is now one of my favourite characters. His deadpan fearless dialog is just fantastic. Jeremy Robinson's usual pop culture references are sprinkled throughout the dialog along with some absolute epic one-liners. RC Bray's narration is world class as always and there's an awesome guest appearance for the Brayniacs out there.
The blurb says a mix of 300 and John Wick. I can absolutely see that, but would also add Percy Jackson in there. "... stared at me like I'd farted out a smurf" almost made me crash the car.
I can see this one pulling in more awards for these two.

A bit too cornball for my tastes, but okay.
So on the advice of a fellow reader (and audible's suggestion), I purchased Tribe as my first foray into Jeremy Robinson. For reference, I'm really into Devon C Ford, Joshua Gayou, Nicholas Sansbury Smith, Keith C. Blackmore and AG Riddle.
The premise of Tribe was intriguing, even if the book synopsis didn't provide that much detail. RC Bray, as usual, did an outstanding job, and I'd still listen to him read a middle school lunch announcement with relish - no pun intended.
Even though the premise and narration were great, the story and writing were just okay. And let me be clear, I don't mean bad. I just mean okay. The "ancient underworld" the description refers to? We're talking thousands of years back. And the thing Henry and Sarah learn about themselves? Earth-shatteringly, life-alteringly big. But the writing didn't make me feel it, and mainly because Robinson, in my opinion, inserted too many funny and light hearted moments into the book. I'm not saying I wanted something *dark*, but just something that better reflected the gravity of the discovery.
So yeah, for a quick, fun, listen and forget about it book, this is fine. Am I keeping it in my library to listen to again? Already exchanged it for another book.

What a great book, bitches!!
From his early books like "The Didymus Contingency" I was hooked on Robinson. He demonstrates his broad range whether it be time-travel, Sci-Fi, Kaiju Monsters or comedic Alien invasions. Now combine his writing skills with the narration talents of R. C, Bray, and you have the makings of a fantastic listening experience.
"Tribe" is full of action and humor. R. C. provides a great portrayal of all the characters (as usual) but in particular that of a 17-year-old boy without an amygdala and thus no fear and no filter on his mouth. Such a great plot device that R.C. leverages to the max.
Sarah, a 20-year-old Dunkin Donuts server, and Henry a 17-year-old orphan cross paths when Sarah comes to Henry's aid as his unfiltered mouth gets him into trouble while in line for a donut. And while Sarah loses her job as a result of the encounter, they meet up again and thwart a bank robbery. But we start to see that these two are different and seem to connect with one another. But it was not actually a robbery, but an attempt to kidnap a woman named Helen. Dispensing with the thugs, Helen takes the two under her wing and things get wild from there.
There are repeated attempts to capture Helen. Sarah and Henry again come to her defense and are discovering that they have extraordinary abilities that are only getting more powerful. But Helen is no slouch either and they soon discover that their meeting was no accident. The three of them are connected in a way that I did not see coming. Robinson leverages some ancient mythologies that explain how these three are related and who is trying to capture Helen and now Sarah and Henry. Sorry, no spoilers.
The story is fast-paced and has a satisfying ending that sets us up for a new series or trilogy. You can't help but connect with the characters, even if one of them loves the band Poison. Clearly, R.C. and Robinson had fun in this book as the character Skippy, from the Expeditionary Force book series by Craig Alanson and voice by R.C., makes a cameo appearance in the book - what a delight.
Great book - can't wait for #2.

Agreed - one giant battle
Worse than Flux, better than Space Force. Yet, still dont recommend. I've enjoyed Mr. Robinson's other stories, The Others, Flux, Second World and Nazi Hunter, but this one I regret. Non-stop fighting, barely an y meaningful conversation to let you what on earth is going on. Only thing that kept me going was Mr. Bray's narration. otherwise, I would have insisted on a refund.

Unoriginal and Badly Written
This novel was really unimpressive. During the course of listening I laughed out loud to myself several times - not because it was funny - but because it was so badly constructed and badly written. The characters are one-dimensional. The author attempts to give them depth but they are like cardboard cut-outs. And the story is just not good. I'm not complaining about the implausibility of it - I expect that in a story like this. It lacks imagination, like an action movie that went straight to video.
The narrator was fine. He just didn't have a lot to work with.

Lacking plot but ok
I like the author and love the narrator, so I will always support spending a token on this combo, however I felt this book could have been better.
The whole story takes place in the span of about 24 hours, which isn’t my favorite sort of story timeline, so maybe it’s a “me” issue. The very beginning and the very end were cool, but in the middle it just felt like one long fight scene followed by a long chase scene, then return to fight scene without much plot or character development - would have loved to get more depth from both.
There were plenty of lines that did make me chuckle, so that’s a win.
As an extensive Robinson listener I give it a 6/10...only because he has set a high standard.

First things first. Skippy the magnificent gets a mention, trust the awesomeness.
I struggled to connect with the characters for the first 3/4 of the book. It started off at a fast pace without enough depth being given. To the characters in my opinion. I confess I nearly deleted the book after hour 4.
I stuck with the book and I’m glad i did. The humour got better and eventually I began to connect with the characters.
Me bray can do no wrong.
I would recommend this book. Some may struggle as I did initially but it’s worth it in the end.

Epic creation from a god (small g) of writing!
What a cracking story, thank you Jeremy! I found this almost un-put-downable (or more accurately, couldn't stop listing). Beautifully crafted, action packed, adventure with lots of energy and pace. I loved it.
As ever, fabulous narration by R.C Bray, and even a guest appearance from Skippy the Magnificent!
Gorgeous.

Loved it.
Great writing, and great narration. Needless to say I really enjoyed this book.
Also a big Skippy fan, completely wowed at that point, had to sit down to take it in!
If you have never read Jeremy Robinson or listened to the master that is R C Bray, this book is must on your listening.

No conceivable plot that I can identify
I'm two hours in and I have no idea what's happening. Giving up. Lots of fighting descriptions which I could have tolerated if it was going somewhere.

Another Amazing story. Recommend to Paul
A great story, and a talented narrator make this one of my top 5 Jeremy Robinson books.
Characters are rememberable and book never felt like it slower even during conversations between characters.
A must listen to for everyone who likes Jeremy Robison and/or R C Bray, especially if you're called Paul and work on Forklift.

Good not great
This book is lifted higher by the superb narration of RC Bray, the story itself is enjoyable but is a rehash if other stories that use the pantheon of gods of ages gone, for me the best parts were the interactions between Sarah and Henry, the author could put those two in any genre of book and I would willingly buy it

Great Action!
While not one of Robinson's best books, it is still a very solid read/listen. No one writes action scenes like Robinson, and this one is wall-to-wall stellar action. If you're in the mood for that kinda thing, definitely the book for you! RC Bray is fantastic as always.

Incredible as always.
Fast paced and action packed from start to finish. A truly great story with plenty of twists and turns which all culminates into a spectacular finish. R.C Bray is fantastic as always, I could genuinely listen to this guy read the phone book. it has everything a good book needs, great story, action packed, brilliant humour and all while being narrated to perfection.

Brilliant story.Outstanding performance by RC Bray
Another great performance from R.C. Bray. He really brings a story to life.
TRIBE was a fresh surprise. I really enjoyed the story.
Great characters, well developed.
The book is easy to get into and becomes an addictive, can't put down story.
The dry humour was spot on and made for an entertaining read.
Have to say WTF when Skippy the Magnificent made an appearance. Thought my library of books was corrupted.
Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a fun read.
Huge fan of R.C. Bray and will read anything he narrates but I'll now also be checking out other titles by Jeremy Robinson.

Unique concept, great delivery!
loved R.C. Bray and his reading of this fun, action filled adventure about the gods and legends of times past placed in the modern setting of current times.
I really loved how Jeremy Robinson wrote this story and how each character had a life of their own, obviously this was helped by R.C. Bray's amazing ability to verbalise those characters.
It is worth a credit to enjoy the fun.
I could not stop listening.

Pleasantly Surprised
Not sure why but didn't expect this to be quite as good as it turned out to be. Bray and JR are always reliable but this genre wouldn't normally fit in my wheelhouse.. it does now! thoroughly enjoyed it! It felt very fresh and original with a good balance of excitement and mystery and well developed characters brilliantly brought to life by RCB. Just proves I'm not always right but I was wrong again this time :) Is there a sequel on the cards?

Good Story
I actually liked this book. Action from beginning to end. I feel like I needed to know a bit about the background of the basis of the storyline, but I still really enjoyed it.
I had to laugh a few times because I read somewhere that this narrator sounds like Morgan Freeman, and quite a few times he did.
