Publisher's Summary

One mission. One truck driver. Three beautiful women. Time to save the world.

Bill “Hero” Reynolds never expected to be the man who saved the world from an alien invasion. However, when a solar storm hits, his truck is the only one left on the road, and he’s recruited for a secret mission. He’s got a long way to go and a short time to get there. To make his delivery on time, he’ll need help: an adrenaline junkie brunette, a feisty blonde sharpshooter, and a nerdy redheaded scientist. But as they drive America’s highways, an extraterrestrial sheriff and his dim-witted robot are hot on their trail, and they won’t rest until Hero and his crew are in jail.

Hero

I really liked this book. chase danger did amazing, good narration by Erin Bateman

I can't wait for book 2, this book was way better than I thought it would be, Erin batemen does such a great job with the narration and characters, she has to be on of the best female narrators.

i honestly wish this book was longer, it's way too short. It's usually like that with these books. The mc Is a relatable and I actually like the truck driver aspect.
it's not like what most people would think, he's not some hill Billy with red cheeks and a Redbull.
The characters are also really cool, Erin Bateman does a good job giving the characters life. And the 3 girls isn't as bad as I would think if would be.

I feel like the story is lacking, Even with that its still performed really well.
The character progression is actually good, it's not that fast paced but I like it. The world building is better, even with how short this book is Chase gives it alot of detail.
The harem aspect isn't bad and I feel it makes the book better. I also like the premise of this book, it's nothing like other books. The setting this book is in Is also good. The plot was lacking, and I feel like there were some plot holes.
I also feel like the plot lacked depth. I also wonder where he got the idea of this book. It's really good, and there needs to be more books like it.

There is also one girl character I can't stand, I won't say who but I can't stand her, and I stopped listening to the book for about a hour because she made me so mad.

If I did have too rate the parts for this book it'd be. Last 1st, Middle 2nd, start 3rd, I feel like the start has too be the worst part about this series by a long run.

This book is worth the credit with everything it has. The length of this book is another story tho, I really like how this book was performed even with all of the stuff I don't like about it.
Chase danger does a really good job with this book, I can't wait for book 2, and hopefully this book will be talked about for a while with how good it is.

I can definitely work with this story

They say, "don't judge a book by its cover". Nowadays, you shouldn't judge a book by its title. I thought this would be a "meh" book, but I was so wrong. There's blend of story, romance, humor and action that make for great entertainment. I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions. Looking forward to book 2 on audio.

The only criticism I have is with Erin Batman's male voices. They could use some work but since I can't do female voices worth a damn I'll stop here. Besides that little pet peeve of mine this was a good listen and worth the credit.

A Filmesque Adventure with Several High Points...

The setting of the story is interesting, mankind getting by in the world after falling under the rule of aliens. A war vet simply trying to make his way in life until "destiny" calls. While the southern drawl of the story is normally appealing to a particular audience, it's easy to appreciate it the longer you hear it.

The biggest highlights of the story are from the interactions between the MC and the love interest(s). With some being old ex-lovers, meeting back up with them was immersively dramatic. The group patching their relationship up, all the while avoiding a delusional alien paved the way for several entertaining moments.

Erin Bateman did pretty well. There were equal moments where it feels like she narrates the characters perfectly, as there were moments where she comes of sounding almost mechanical (Not including the times when she is narrating as the aliens).

Overall the story is fun. While not groundbreaking or dramatic, this book had great character moments that you wouldn't experience outside of a story like this.

Smokey and the Bandit meet Alien Invasion

Fun story based off the timeless movie. This was a fun story from the start to the end.

The narrator did a fantastic job with this one. She was able to bring the story to life and keep you interested the whole way through.

The "hero" we need

Fantastic book. Aliens, women, and a true "hero". Erin Bateman's narration adds another layer of greatness!

Good for the first of a new series

I like to provide a little context for my reviews. I always take it easy on the first book of any series as firsts inherently tend to be shaky endeavors. I also do that for the last book of any series as not every author makes it to “The End” of their story. With that said I've enjoyed the story so far and am interested in seeing what comes next. In an attempt to avoid spoilers, I'll keep what I say to only the first part of the book. The book seems to be heavily inspired by Smokey and The Bandit which is a really good movie from back in the day. They actually made more than one for anybody who's not familiar. He's a trucker moving precious cargo from point A to point B all while trying to dodge the law. He's got a chase car who in this story is of course driven by a beautiful woman and considering the genre the story would not be complete without additional beautiful ladies joining the run. Now for the twist some surprise elements and the “hitch in the giddyup.” two of those ladies or his Ex though one was arguably a more important relationship than the other. Oh yeah and the twist is the EXs are now together. Surprise element is the aliens. I'm not sure whether it's more Falling Skies or XCOM influenced. For those of you not familiar with Falling Skies it was a TV show that was similar to Walking Dead but with aliens and ran on TNT from 2011 to 2015. Moving on to the narrator whose work I have enjoyed over the course of a number of books, I have to say she delivers another fantastic performance. Lastly, I always try and thank everybody who has a hand in bringing these stories to us, the audio listeners. Well done and keep up the good work.

Fun

A great story, though a deeper back story would of made it fantastic. But then again the author and narrator did a good job, making the characters come alive.

Interesting retelling of a great story

This must have been inspired by Smokie and the bandit. it is freshly done. The narrator does a good job painting the picture of the characters.
A nice story to waste away your time.
