Publisher's Summary

From the bestselling author of The Speed of Trust, a revolutionary new way to lead, deemed “the defining leadership book in the 21st century” (Admiral William McRaven, author of Make Your Bed) that “every parent, teacher, and leader needs” (Esther Wojcicki, author of How to Raise Successful People).

We have a leadership crisis today, where even though our world has changed drastically, our leadership style has not. Most organizations, teams, schools, and families today still operate from a model of “command and control,” focusing on hierarchies and compliance from people. But because of the changing nature of the world, the workforce, work itself, and the choices we have for where and how to work and live, this way of leading is drastically outdated.

Stephen M.R. Covey has made it his life’s work to understand trust in leadership and organizations. In his newest and most transformative book, Trust and Inspire, he offers a simple yet bold solution: to shift from this “command and control” model to a leadership style of “trust and inspire.” People don’t want to be managed; they want to be led. Trust and Inspire is a new way of leading that starts with the belief that people are creative, collaborative, and full of potential. People with this kind of leader are inspired to become the best version of themselves and to produce their best work. In this “beautifully written page-turner” (Amy Edmondson, Harvard Business School professor), Covey offers the solution to the future of work: where a dispersed workforce will be the norm, necessitating trust and collaboration across time zones, cultures, personalities, generations, and technology.

Trust and Inspire calls for a radical shift in the way we lead in the 21st century, and Covey shows us how.

Excellent book

This book starts slow (frankly not interesting) but then gets into the details of how to become an trusting and inspiring leader. Very thought provoking. The best leadership book that I have seen in recent years.

Must Listen

Stephen M.R. Covey is an expert in Trust. With this book, he has taken his expertise in this domain and translated it to how leaders need to be in the New World of Work. You cannot manage people as you manage things. I love how he talks about inspiring people by believing in their potential and how trust is both something that is earned and given. He gives great tips that you can put into action today - whether you are a manager, an individual contributor who leads, a professor, in the private or public sector.
Trust and Inspire is a must listen. (I only wish that my managers had read this years ago.) I own this as a hardcover and audible because I love it so much.

A Winner

This book is needed and transformational! The impact a “trust and inspire” leader can make is unmeasurable, like the ripples of a pebble in the water. Loved this Audible version and the energy and enthusiasm of Covey! A winner of a book in my eyes—and one that will continue to have a massive influence in my life.

Catered well to leaders over 50yo

I imagine the content of this book is applicable, enlightening, and will provide significant unlocks in your leadership capabilities if you’re an ambitious white male over 50yo, who loves continuous learning, advancing, and wants to better navigate the fast changing and more diverse world that’s come about over your career. If you’re a stay-at-home parent, a person of color, woman-identifying, or under 40yo, I’d recommend spending your time with a different leadership book, as the info in this book will may not feel very novel.

Truly inspirational and applicable for life!

I just finished listening to Trust and Inspire and have so many practical and inspiring takeaways. The content is excellent and applicable in any role in life: whether you are in business or any profession, a teacher, a parent, administrator, or someone who desires to be a mentor to others. The examples and quotes are relatable and interesting, and you can immediately apply this new leadership model at home or work, and in every aspect of your personal life. It has made me become much more aware of what leadership methods I use and has given me a step by step guide to become more of a “trust and inspire” leader. I feel I can improve my relationships with others with the tools and ideas shared. I am genuinely inspired to become the leader I have seen modeled throughout this audiobook, and realize the powerful influence that comes with this type of excellent leadership. I would highly recommend this audiobook and its content to anyone who wants to improve valuable relationships in their lives.

Concept is powerful but it is alot if repetition

Concept is powerful but it is alot if repetition. It would be a powerful book if there were enough business stories, examples.
Writer reading the book is always good experience. Extra points for that
