Publisher's Summary
Maybe it was a grandparent or a teacher or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you?
Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying of ALS, or motor neurone disease, Morrie visited Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live. This is a chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world. What listeners say about Tuesdays with Morrie

Beau-ti-ful Story!!
As soon as I purchased it, I started listening, and enjoyed each and every minute of it.
In my opinion, it is extremely well written and on the top of that the narration is outstanding, too.
It is great to listen to the story narrated by the author, and he reads the book beautfully.
This is a true story which makes the book even more special, I think.
Thought provoking, inspiring and the author makes you laugh here and there as well.
I hope you enjoy the book just as much as I did, if you decide to get it.

Pragmatic words on difficult issues
Living and dying well provide many challenges that continue to baffle us. "Tuesdays with Morrie" gives some stimulating insights through the recounting of conversations between Mitch and his old college teacher Morrie as Morrie dies of Lou Gerig's disease. The book broaches difficult topics without unbelievable hype or off-putting sentimentality. It is a great listen.

tuesdays with Morrie
If my friend asked if she could borrow this book I would say no. I wouldn't even make excuses of feel guilty about it. I would rush online and buy her a copy to be sent as a random, but not truly altruistic, present. We both need our own copies, for this is a book to return to time and time again. This is no "I've read it, what's next?" book. This true story reminds me not only why I read but also why every 60 seconds of every minute is precious. An old college professor (Morrie) is dying of an incurable condition. In his final months a former student (Mitch) reaches out to him and they rekindle what was once a very profound relationship. We learn about Morrie's highly respected life before he got sick and how Mitch has been living in the fast lane, yet has seemingly lost his way. Despite promises Mitch hasn't kept in touch. He heard about Morrie's illness on TV. When Mitch loses his job he has the gift of time; that he chooses to spend this with his old ‘coach' for who time is so limited offers one of this book's profound teachings. We don't always appreciate the simple things in life. Mitch and Morrie settle into an old pattern of spending Tuesday's together in class. This time the classroom is Morrie's front room and the subject is The Meaning of life. The book flows effortlessly; it is almost poetic. Once we have settled into it, each chapter represents another Tuesday, and another lesson: "The tenth Tuesday we talk about Marriage." In some respects it is reminiscent of Kahlil Gibran's ‘The Prophet'. But this is a dialogue, not just with a wise man, but with a man acutely facing his own mortality. Morrie's gift is that he sees hims lucky; he sees opportunity when others would only see sadness. His learning has never stopped. Mitch too seems lucky as he has a second chance. ponder. If you want to explore what's important to a brave man, at the end of life's long journey, I urge you to read this book. Just don't go lending it to anyone.

Hmmmmm
Selected on the back of the great reviews and as someone who likes to learn in life, improve myself and others around me, I thought it would be a great choice.
I'm sort of left a bit perplexed. For sure it was someone's experience and story but I felt something was missing- whether it was he structure of the chapters I don't know, but felt it could have been laid out better with "life's lessons"
The only take away I can see are;
- death comes to all, enjoy what you have
- don't live in the past
Wanted to enjoy it more but felt something was missing.

A blueprint for life....
How can an account of the last months of life, coping with such a cruel, debilitating condition be so positive and uplifting? I believe that even the most hard bitten, insensitive person could use this book as a ‘springboard’ to the future
Wonderful!

Could not listen to the narrator
I was recommended this book and couldn't wait to listen to it. unfortunately the narrator keeps making licking/smacking noises before he talks and it's incredible distracting. I can't not hear the noise every time so unfortunately I cannot finish the audible version of this book.

Love it
I recently heard Mitch present at a seminar for 1600 chiropractors in San Francisco and he moved the whole crowd with the way he told the story. I was moved to listen to Mitch tell the whole story, and to hear Mitch and Morrie speaking on the recording at the end was absolutely something else.
I feel like I know Morrie and Mitch. It's hard to get that from reading a story.
I'd recommend this to people of all ages. It's like a real life 7 habits of highly successful people, but with absolute focus on the humanity of life.

A must read!
An incredible story! It had me laughing and crying till the end. Some people may be scared of dying or might not like the idea of death but this true story puts it all into perspective in a simple and heartfelt way.
Tuesdays with Morrie is humbling and relatable - I cannot recommend this book enough.

Profound and something foreveryone
I first read this book when my daughter who was living in Canada sent it to her Nan in Australia to have it read to her. Her nan was dying but I read it to her (my mum), twice in fact.
I’ve now just listened to it again. And again ive been able to take so much from it.
If you ever get to have ‘a Morris’ in your life, embrace them.
Everyone can learn, get, take something from this book. It truly is a profound story. Enjoy!
