Cat O'Nine Tales is the fifth collection of irresistible short stories from the master storyteller. Ingeniously plotted, with richly drawn characters and Jeffrey Archer's trademark unexpected conclusions, some of these 13 stories were inspired by the two years he spent in prison, including the story of a company chairman who tries to poison his wife while on a trip to St. Petersburg - with unexpected consequences.

Publisher's Summary
"'Turn a Blind Eye' is a highly enjoyable episode in this ongoing series - in no small measure due to the talented Blagden’s versatile and spot-on vocal interpretations of each character in the large cast." (NJ.com)
Turn a Blind Eye is the third installment in the gripping story of Detective Inspector William Warwick, by the master storyteller and number one New York Times best-selling author of the Clifton Chronicles.
Newly promoted to Detective Inspector, William Warwick is tasked with a dangerous new line of work, to go undercover and expose crime of another kind: corruption at the heart of the Metropolitan Police Force. Along with detectives Rebecca Pankhurst and Nicky Bailey, his team is focused on following Detective Jerry Summers, a young officer whose lifestyle exceeds his income. But the investigation risks being compromised when Nicky falls for Summers.
Meanwhile, notorious drug baron Assem Rashidi goes on trial, defended by Booth Watson QC, while William’s father Sir Julian and sister Grace lead the prosecution case. And William’s wife Beth, now a new mother to twins, makes a surprising new friend in Christina Faulkner - the ex-wife of William’s former rival, criminal financier Miles - who has not only turned over a new leaf, but also has a new-found source of income when Faulkner dies suddenly of a heart attack and she stands to be sole inheritor of his estate.
As the undercover officers start to draw the threads together, William realizes that the corruption may go deeper still, and more of his colleagues than he first thought might be willing to turn a blind eye.

Can't wait for the next book in the series
I really enjoy the narrator, I thought he did an excellent job. As to the book itself, I am a Archer fan from way back and I love this new series and can't wait to read the next book. William and Beth are excellent characters, as well as the other members of William's team. I particularly like Grace and Claire.

Another Great Archer Novel
I have listened to the previous two books in the series. The series had a short but a good start, the second book was not as good as the first. So I was worried about this one, but no worries the story is excellent. It will make you look forward to the next book as well as giving you closure in this one.
There are always bunch of "googlie"s in Archer novels and this one surely has its share. I dont need to mention the characters because this is a Sir Archer novel for God's Sake. You want to be one of the good guys and the bad is very common very familiar in everyday life.
My only question is how come West Ham Soccer Club was not mentioned in this book?
Also sometimes narration kills a good book but George Blagden is the reason why this book is not just very good but excellent.

Just as enthralling as the Clifton Chronicles.
I'm hooked on this series. I can't wait for the next book. It's just as good as the Clifton Chronicles. Only the villains don't seem as ruthless (thank goodness). The previous characters made my B/P rise. Offs heard to predict what might happen next. That's what I love about Archer's books!
The narration is spot on. Ability to produce several different voices for each character. Well done.

Story is becoming boring
This is the third book in the William Warrick series. There are three main plot lines in the book. One has continued since the first book and it will continue in book four. I became tired of all the repetition of information. There were two main trials. So we had a summation in the beginning, then a repeat with the witnesses, and then a final closing statement by the attorneys. Most of the court proceedings were boring to me. I have read Jeffrey Archer in several other books. It is light reading and I appreciate the fact that his vocabulary it’s 100% British. In fact I still do not know what a “slaughter” or “slooter” means. I will skip the fourth book in the series.

Couldn't quite make up my mind
My headline says it all. One moment things were working, then they weren't. I'd try to get past what I deemed (as a casual bystander) actions that bordered on a wait...what moment. I completed the book but the ending became so boringly predictable. Looking at other reviews they certainly run the gamut. I'll leave you, fellow listener, to judge for yourself.
Without a doubt book one was my favorite.

Rubbish
You would think that there was no such thing as forensic evidence. I am willing to suspend a certain amount of disbelief, but the coppers in this book try solve a 20th Century case with 19th Century methods. It is a mess of nonsensical turns, the killing off of characters to get them out of the way. Whew, Archer still writes great characters but in this one they are as dumb as a stick.

Faulty Story Line
It is rather frustating to listen to some of the court scenes which show the prosecution rather incompetent at times, lacking simple common sense. And there are other story parts that are hard to fit in.
