Great History, Mixed Message

If I was just rating how this book opened my eyes to the lessons and history behind the Bible, I would give this a 5/5 stars! However, through some comments that the author said, I can tell that he and I don't agree on what a Christian women's place is in the world. I am a Liberal person and I knew I wouldn't agree with all of his interpretations. That being said, I would recommend this listen to anyone who wants to understand the Bible better, even if I didn't agree with his personal thoughts.

I'm also very curious why Esther isn't on this list? I would like to have known what his process was for selecting 12 women from the Bible. Since only 2 of the Books are titled after women (Ruth and Esther), I would've assumed Esther would make the cut, especially considering her story!

Terrible

Terrible reading. Attacks the Catholic Church and is an obvious Protestant writer and using only Protestant teaching

Wonderful!

This book helped me to put together a synopsis of Lydia’s conversion for a women’s gathering at my church. It was extremely helpful.

Wonderful Overview of 12 Godly Women

This audiobook gives insight into the lives of 12 women portrayed in scripture (5 Old Testament and 7 New Testament). The author is thorough in his research and gives much background information along with their virtues and attributes.
I learned a lot and found it easy to listen to the narrator (who narrates many of the author’s books). I highly recommend it!

John MacArthur

Love this book! This is the second John MacArthur book I have listened to just in the past two weeks. I am going to instantly re-listen to “Twelve ordinary men” and this book!
