The ability to use body fat for energy is essential to health - but over decades of practice, renowned family physician Catherine Shanahan, MD, observed that many of her patients could not burn their body fat between meals, trapping them in a downward spiral of hunger, fatigue, and weight gain. In The Fatburn Fix, Dr. Shanahan shows us how industrially produced vegetable oils accumulate in our body fat and disrupt our body’s energy-producing systems, driving food addictions that hijack our moods and habits while making it nearly impossible to control our weight.

The prevailing "chronic cardio" approach promotes carbohydrate dependency, overly stressful lifestyle patterns, and ultimately burnout.

For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Ruined by the narrator’s incessant giggling
The narrator constantly bursts into this odd and unbearable cackling or chuckling. Even in the middle of a word that is in no way funny, or part of any “joke,” he will include the odd cackling. I cannot fathom how this was allowed by any editor. I would recommend pulling this title and re-recording, ideally with a new narrator or at least without the interruption of the chucking every 2-7 words.
The actual content is great. The narrator’s cackling is insufferable. Do not waste your time, just buy the actual book. This is absolutely unlistenable. Wish Sisson had narrated it. He has a much better voice, and I don’t believe he is afflicted by this odd giggling compulsion that the plagues the narrator.

This is definitely a pass. The narration about killed me. I was so "over" the narrator's fake laughter throughout. I felt I was being talked down to the whole time. Hung in there hoping for worthwhile content but truly a let down. There are better options to ignite your interest and inspiration.

Where's Sisson?
I would greatly prefer hearing Mark tell his own story rather than this guy. The narrator sounds like a 40 year old man trying to sound cool in front of teenage boys.
However and most importantly, content is excellent. Thought at times I question the scientific accuracy when quoting documentaries as sources.

Great content, bad reading
This was an interesting book which I bought after listening to Mark on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. I really liked his demeanor and the facts he presented there. And already being on the keto diet for a couple of years his statement of "being on the keto diet is no way to live" got my attention. There is in my opinion a great deal of interesting ideas and also good, backed up science in here.
So it's too bad that the reader of the book is almost ruining the experience. His way of overexaggerating words and sentences is giving the impression of him reading this to children or mentally challenged adults sometimes which gets annoying real fast. He also have a tendency to half-laugh in random sentences that is not remotely funny (nor meant to be) and in fact only distracts from the content. I'm sure his intentions are to make the reading not boring and instead light-hearted but he should have found some better middel ground here.

This works....WELL! (Feel like I cheated, so easy)
Fantastic!! ...I lost 16lbs easily in 8 weeks, love my new life and am not going back to refined sugars and grains. At 57 I wish I had done this 40 years ago, feel fresh and alive, brain function never better, loads of energy, great sleep, no aches or pains anymore and getting an athletic figure back...incredible. The best bit is that I feel so calm and happier each day, its like the sugar and grain effects kept me in a sort of low level depression in my past life. I could tweak it a bit by adding mushroom powders, Chaga, Reishi, Lions Mane etc to support the gut biome and immune system but other wise pretty darn good! Go for it, discover the best version of yourself.

Unbarable listen of rehashed Insight you've heard.
I have 4 hours, 41 minutes left of this audiobook, and I can't do it anymore. I really like to get my moneys worth, but the reader is unbarable. He'd be better hosting a children's game show. He giggles every second sentence, and laughs and jokes - which is partially the writer's fault because of his "jokes" throughout the book. But he's no comedian - leave that to your friends like Joe Rogan. The information is this: fast, don't eat carbs, go outside, be relaxed, don't eat junk food, exercise and stretch. Most of this I've heard before, but in more niche books. DO NOT read this book if you want to gain weight - this is not covered. I am skinny. I work out and eat as much as I can but I have bad digestive issues with sugars and I usually follow a Low-Fodmap diet (and if I stray I suffer) - so I'm already slim, but I'd like better digestion because even on my diet I suffer often. I actually tried the fasting - it helped with IBS a little - but I lost weight. I hoped this book would offer a guide to how to get the benefits of fasting without losing weight - but every other sentence mentions "burning the fat" and "melting that excess body fat" as if he assumes every single person listening is overweight. Books should disclose before you buy them that they will not help you if you are underweight, otherwise they can be a big waste of money.

awesome book to listen to, go into great detail about the science and provides good daily tasks to manage and monitor your eating, drinking and exercising lifestyle.

Great content terrible narration
If you buy this audio book you will regret having to listen to the narrator. I would recommend a hard copy.

Worst narrator ever
Great book information wise however the narrator makes it impossible to sit through any extended period of time. Do not download if you don’t want to hear someone speaking to you like a child, get the Book. Work out, fast, stay away from shitty sugar and bad oils.
