Publisher's Summary

Two necromancers, a dragon, and a vampire - it sounds like a shortcut to disaster, and for Timmy, it’s certainly looking that way.

To earn his pardon and avoid becoming yet another necromancer statistic, Timmy has to work for the Council. From bandit uprisings to giant sea serpents and ogre invasions, Timmy and the others are there to save the day - sort of.

And despite relying on overly intelligent ninja rats, an elf who believes that fire is the answer to everything, a bureaucrat who struggles to stay conscious through an entire fight, and a precocious apprentice who has designs on his castle, property damage per mission is down, they haven’t blown up another mountain, and they’ve gone several missions without ripping a hole in reality.

Naturally, it won’t last.

When the dragon egg their resident pyromaniac stole hatches to reveal the world’s cuddliest harbinger of death, Timmy and the others are dragged into a pair of diabolically dangerous missions. Breaking out of one of the world’s most secure prisons was hard enough. Now, they have to break back in to rescue a vampire.

And then there’s the Eye of the Abyss. Does your country have a problem with a divine artefact capable of singlehandedly winning a war? Don’t worry. Just send Timmy and the gang. They’ll handle it, and Timmy might even get to live every necromancer’s dream with - zombie pirates.

Timmy and the others want their pardons, and they’re not going to let anyone stop them, not armies, not fleets, not even the most powerful empire the world has ever seen that just so happens to hold a centuries-old grudge against Everton.

The world is going to learn a very important lesson: never, ever underestimate a necromancer with a shovel and time to plan.

A brilliant continuation of a hilarious series

I loved this book and the fact it continued the humor that made me love the first one as well. I look forward to the next one and, most likely, all future books in this series.

Each book is better than the last!

These books are good, clean fun! Sure they can be a little gruesome at times, but the language is pretty clean and it doesn't get creepy. I would go as far to say as these books are a wholesome as books about necromancers can be!

Also, the narrator just brings the whole experience to another level. Keep them coming!

So fun!

I don't know where to start. The cast of characters are fun and quirky, the dialog is witty, and the plot is engaging. I don't think I've giggled so much at a book since Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm definitely looking forward to listening to the next book.

I also want to shout out to the narrator. His voices, whether male or female, are distinct and memorable. When it's a woman character speaking, he makes you forget it's a man doing the narration. He does a fantastic job.

Excellent!!

These books are great fun and the narrator is absolutely excellent. He is able to play all the roles equally well and he really fleshes out all the characters. I can’t wait to dig into more!

Great, but needs editing

I found the first entry in this series (which apparently technically covers books 1-2) to be a thoroughly enjoyable masterpiece, although it had an odd, episodic approach.

This one is highly entertaining, and it's more cohesive - but it is in desperate need of a good editor. I kept finding repeated lines and the like. Simple things that could be easily cleaned up.

However, that aside, let me say again - this work is highly entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am eager to continue the stories! This makes me laugh, keeps me hooked, AND the tension is clearly building towards dramatic events.

Hilarious listening!

LG Estrella has a wonderful sense of humor & writing skills to match! This has become one of my favorite series. With well developed characters and plot lines that follow one book to the next. it is a great way to unwind and enjoy a bit of downtime.

Great Series

I love this series. It moves pretty well. Some things get a bit cheesy or whatever, but it’s a fantasy book… so if you accept a zombie and vampires, etc., you accept the other magic and just go with it.
I like the jokes and fun of this series. I’ll definitely listen to more. I think the narrator does a great job! It isn’t easy for a guy to voice females but since this isn’t a romance novel what he does is absolutely fine. He does a great job keeping the voices straight and his inflections are dead on…. As if he wrote it and knew how it should go.
If you aren’t a book snob who picks apart every little thing and you can enjoy a fun novel, I highly suggest this series. If you want super sophisticated writing with so much blah blah background and no action or humor, you won’t like this.

Been loving these stupid stories ^-^

Simple classic story tropes.
Think the Princess bride with necromancers
The heroes are never in real danger it's like Saturday morning cartoons ^-^ I would have truly loved these 20 years ago.

it is not that I enjoy the sequel more than the original. The character have grown and the book is funnier than ever.

Wicked good fun

Ah such entertainment that does not last as long as you'd wish for. The narrator brings to life this series of books and I found that exceptional to the overall rating. The story is enjoyable on so many levels that I've listened to all 3 books twice in as many days.
