"[Chanda] has a very imaginative and unique vision, and her books are different from all of the genre titles being published by the big houses right now." ( Lovestruck Literary)

Annoying protagonist and unbeliveable relationship

What disappointed you about UnEnchanted?

The protagonist of the story is annoying. Hard to find anything to "like" about her. Her uncalled for outbursts make her appear childish. This makes the continued interest of the too perfect love interest unbelievable and hard to sympathise with.

The story had potential, but I just couldn't get through it felt as if the book had been written by a teenager. Perhaps okay for 10 year olds and down...

Don't bother

2-1/2 stars: Meh. For as short as it was, it felt like it dragged a bit. Also, Mina and Brody acted way older than their 15/16 years, in terms of romance, possessiveness, etc. They just didn't feel right to me. I didn't like Nan. She was completely obnoxious and no way I'd keep her for a best friend if I was Mina. The whole story felt like it was "off". I can't fault the the reader of the audio, though, who did a nice job (and who I've really enjoyed before reading other books). It's a shame because I had high hopes for this book (and series).

Eh.....it was ok

The story was OK. I was really disappointed in the way it ended, ruined the whole story for me. The premise of the story is a good one, but there were so many better ways it could have been fleshed out.

So NOT What I Expected!

Would you listen to UnEnchanted again? Why?

Say what?! Seriously, I did not expect anything miraculous with this book, and never would I have expected that I would get hooked into this fun series! Mina is adorable as a determined Grime (Grimm), whose family has a curse on them created by non other than royal Fae. And while living in a fairy tale might seem grand, to Mina it's just another day of trouble. With her loved one's lives in the balance, it's all Mina can do to keep up with the curse, but with friends like her's, and a new ally, she just might break it!Unenchanted is definitely a light read, but I was so caught up in the story and characters, that I made a mad dash to order the next in the series! Was this book totally unique? Not really, but the plot, the sweet characters, the overall tone of the story immediately grabs your attention, and before you know it you're transported to a world of fairy tale creatures gone amok! Originally, within the first few chapters, I felt this book was generated towards a much younger audience, but it truly is for any age, and great entertainment! Also the narrator did a really good job with this series, but I will say that it did take me a chapter or two before I warmed up to her, and was totally engrossed from that point forward. Again, this is a light read, but it's massively fun and you'll be cheering Mina on!

Great for teens/ young adults

Written for teens/young adults but entertaining for all ages. I glad I discovered this series. The theme allows the author to have an almost endless number of books.

Interesting premise, but not fullfilled

While I liked the idea of the book, the actual experiense didn't live up to the hope.
The story was repetative and trite, and didn't offer any unique or original flavor.
The writing was also a little all over the place, at times seeming to skip parts of a description.
I liked that there was some disability representation going, but that's the only thing I liked about the characters. While not flat, the rest of them seemed forced and they often acted in a way that seemed unnatural to me.

Narrator did a good job, tho!
