A very important book

Thank you, Elizabeth Jacobs, for helping raise our anxious children. We must watch how we speak to children as it can be imprinted on their self-image. Ask, don't demand, show empathy, and do not apologize for your feelings so that your children can honor their own feelings and feel understood. Empower your child: "You may have that anxiety, but you have many other strong qualities and accomplishments."

Outstanding resource for parents!

This is such a terrific audiobook, chock-full of useful great tips and tricks to handle rough situations with kids who aren't great with social settings.

A lot of the resources out there provide generic help, but this book has very unique techniques that I am super grateful for.

Absolutely recommend this one!

Good information

It’s so important to understand anxiety because the person experiencing it often does not understand what is going on. This book especially helps parents to understand anxiety because a child may be going through anxiety and the parents may react negatively making the situation worse.

Useful for these trying times

Having worked in an educational setting for most of my adult life. I can appreciate that recent events and times have created the most trying anxieties in children unable to understand and can magnify adults' own anxieties and then become anxious. This book addresses what you can do to minimize your child's fears that can take them through as they continue to develop and that can be used throughout their lives.

Fascinating subject full of valuable info!

As someone who's trying for my first child and who is very interested in human behaviour, I couldn't wait to listen to this and I wasn't disappointed! It takes you on a journey starting from understanding anxiety in your child to embracing the truth about it. It makes the parents take a look in the mirror too and what not to do to make the situation worse by being too judgemental. After that though, the author provides loads of great alternatives and shows plenty of light at the end of the tunnel. The audiobook really gives parents the tools and confidence to pass it on to their kids. It's all about understanding and empathising with your child and after listening to this, you will have the means to do so.

An eye opener.

I was absolutely immersed in this book right from the start. It really helped me dig deep into my relationship with my children and, to be fair, deep dive into my own anxious mind.

I have been researching this topic for a while, as my daughter is experiencing anxiety and is a highly sensitive individual. I was lost and did not know where to start in order to help her. Analysing my own patters of behaviour and becoming a non judgemental, open, positive parent was a true journey of self discovery. This book really deepened my understanding of anxiety in children and encouraged self reflection as well as prompted me to take some realistic steps towards working towards changing of some patterns and habits at home.

I really appreciate the content, personal experience and professional advice of the author. It was extremely beneficial to me and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.
