Interesting Audiobook About Autism!

If you have an autistic child. If you suffer from stress. Or if you need help raising your child and you don't know how, then this audiobook is for you. I wanted to know more about autism because my uncle adopted 2 children with disorders a few years ago.

I enjoyed the information in Chapter 2, the three strategies in Chapter 3, and knowing your child's interests so you can use them to your advantage in your child's education. Overall, this is an interesting book to help parents who have an autistic child.

I couldn't be more thankful! Highly Recommend

This book was recommended to me by an Occupational Therapist, as it is full of insights from a mom that knows. My daughter was diagnosed this year, and we struggled for months feeling overwhelmed. I appreciate how this book made it easy to understand my daughter’s level 1 diagnosis but more importantly how to cope. The strategies and tips given are invaluable. The chapter on setting boundaries especially, has really helped in our home. It’s the perfect starting point for parents that are beginning on the path of the spectrum. I have confidence to help my little girl and have her conquer her goals through the right therapy and my understanding. Great book!

Must have book for parents of autistic children

My sister has an autistic child. I have seen her have to deal with tantrums, and meltdowns.
She was very stressed.
I am going to gift her this book because she is alway looking for advice, tips, and strategies to help her son and family.
This book is unique because there are so many books about autism but few are designated for high functioning autism.
The book helps you plan and work towards helping your child, by understanding their autism better.

I love the author's approach to parenting as it is easy to follow, but most importantly, it focuses on nurturing your child so they develop, grow, and progress with the right support. Maureen is positive and relatable throughout with lots of her own examples and stories, which are both light-hearted and heart-breaking. She understands what it feels like to be a mom of an autistic kid and that really comes through in her advice and guidance she gives.

Really a very helpful book.

Must Listen For High Functioning Autism!

I chose this book because a close friend of mine has an autistic child, and I wanted to learn more about what he goes through. This audiobook is intended for parents or guardians of children diagnosed with high-functioning autism. It is told from the perspective of a mother who has been through a similar circumstance and has taught in a special needs school, so it feels extremely authentic. It describes what high functioning autism is, where it fits within the autism spectrum, and what distinguishes it from other forms of autism.

The listener is guided on what to do after the diagnosis, including recognising the kid's unique requirements and providing practical solutions, technique and tactics to help the child adapt and thrive with their specific form of autism, as well as improve their communication and social interaction. The listener is given specific advice on how to deal with the extremely difficult moments when there is a breakdown, which is one of the most difficult periods for parents or guardians of children with high functioning autism. There's also some excellent advice on choosing the right school, forming friendships and improving social skills.

This audiobook is an essential must-have for anyone who wants to provide the greatest possible support to children in their care who have been diagnosed with high-functioning autism.

Informative!

I was interested in this audio book as a close friend of mine has an autistic child and I wanted to be able to help her with childminding so that she could take a break. The content in this book is eye opening and I learned so much throughout each chapter that I know I will be able to put into practice and I now feel better equipped to offer a helping hand. I now have some techniques in my armour to calm him down if he has tantrums and I also know what mistakes I've been making so far too. A great guide for not just parents but also close friends and family members with an autistic child in their circle.

Great book for parents with an autistic child

I've always wondered what goes on in the minds of autistic children so I know how to behave around them so they feel loved. This book has given me all the information I need. The author talks about signs of autism, how not to trigger them getting into behavior, and how to literally be a super parent to an autistic child. I also loved the advice on the importance of discipline by setting boundaries, and developing negotiation skills. I totally recommend this book to any parent with an autistic child, or if you are just as curious as me.
