Story
Angels and saints. Catholics tend to think of them as different from the rest of us. They're cast in plaster or simpering on a holy card, performing miracles with superhero strength, or playing a harp in highest heaven.
Yet they are very near to us in every way. In this lively audiobook, Scott Hahn dispels the false notions and urban legends people use to keep the saints at a safe distance. The truth is that Jesus Christ has united heaven and earth in a close communion. Drawing deeply from Scripture, Dr. Hahn shows that the hosts of heaven surround the earthly Church as a "great cloud of witnesses".

Story
In Reasons to Believe, Scott Hahn, a convert to Catholicism, explains the "how and why" of the Catholic faith - drawing from Scripture, his own struggles, and those of other converts, as well as from everyday life and even natural science. Hahn shows that reason and revelation, as well as nature and the supernatural, are not opposed to one another; rather, they offer complementary evidence that God exists. He is someone, and He has a personality, a personal style, that is discernable and knowable.

Story
The Summa Theologica, by Thomas Aquinas, is a fundamental text in Catholic doctrine, a compendium of theology that has been studied and debated since its first publication in the 13th century. Furthermore, it has been widely regarded as one of the classics of Western philosophy, not least because, perhaps for the first time in such a systematic manner, it set out to consider the views of non-Christian figures such as Aristotle, Boethius, Muslim writers including Averroes (Ibn Rushd) and Avicenna (Ibn Sina) and the Sephardic Jewish scholar Maimonides.

Story
A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

Why do so many people think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is outdated? Why do our friends and neighbors - and sometimes we ourselves - dismiss the Bible as irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Exodus, the second book of the Bible, will demonstrate that the Bible is not only powerfully relevant to today’s issues, but completely consistent with rational thought.

Publisher's Summary
This unabridged audio version brings to life an exciting combination of the seven basic elements that make up the print version. Musical accents subtly underscore the beginning of each chapter. The meditation and prayer elements, with six different readers, both men and women, including Archbishop Donald Wuerl, bring the text to life.
This special presentation would be extremely useful for commuters, those who are visually impaired, or those who prefer to listen rather than read. The lessons, stories, doctrinal summaries, sidebars, and prayers are all presented in self-contained tracks as short as a minute and usually no longer than four or five minutes, which will also prove useful for RCIA groups, study groups, and other gatherings of believers.

Enjoyable and Enlightening Listening!
I've never enjoyed catechism, even going back to childhood, but I have found this recording to be easy, enjoyable and enlightening listening. I found the content by the Bishops to be easily accessible, but by no means juvenile - it's definitely adult. I liked the change of voices, the music, and chimes. They helped to remain focused. The references didn't bother me, and I might even go back and look up a few points in the hardcopy Universal Catechism. For me, the stories interspersed throughout the text added meaning and context, and provided examples upon which to reflect, and perhaps try to emulate. I often listen while stuck in traffic, so I feel that I accomplish something while stuck in traffic.

I got this book for my RCIS class. There are more than 16 chapters. Whomever split the chapters up did not do it right.
I cannot use this at all bc I cannot easily listen to the chapter I need to. For example, you hit chapter two and it starts reading chapter 3... and chapter 4 starts chapter 8.

After 30 years figured I'd go through the Catechis
Where does United States Catholic Catechism for Adults rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Excellent!
What did you like best about this story?
The solid teaching of Christian fundamentals (and a few things that make you go whaaaaaaaa?????)
What does Donald Wuerl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Excellent way to go through a long book!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The secret to victorious Christian living is getting the fundamentals write and for the most part that's the CCC.
Any additional comments?
Whether you're Catholic or not this book is a prerequisited for victorious Christian living. I've been in various protestant churches over the last 30 years and no two agree on almost anything. Whether you believe in the Primacy of Peter or not it's irresponible as Christian to not read this. Very solid teaching!

All the teachings of the Catholic Church in audio! I haven't made it through all of it, but I have enjoyed it much thus far. Great stories are incorporated, as well as wonderful quotes from Holy Scripture and the saints!

United States Catholic Catechism for Adults
The content is excellent.
The most distracting and annoying aspect of this book are the references. For example there are numerous parenthetical references to other works, bible passages and the like. All of these things are good and proper in the hard copy version, and the reader's eye can easily skip over them.
But the narrator reads all of this stuff, and it's very annoying. It would "read" much better without all those references.

Magnificent!!
The narrators were excellent. I do not think Donald Wuerl narrates it all, just the introductions and in a few other places. But the narrators who they have are excellent. This is condensed stuff, but such a welcome to have it interspersed with biographies of individuals such as Dorothy Day and Cesar Chavez. Over 40 hours long I believe from memory, but worth every moment. I could not have found the time to have read the book, but when drive to and from work, this was excellent. I now of course want the hardcopy book to reference.
