I don't get it
I don’t get how this book as so many rave and dazzling reviews. For starters, not a single one of the memory techniques discussed here is new, original or ground-breaking. They have been around for decades and been taught for decades and Kevin’s recital of them isn’t new or ground breaking to create such a rave.
The main problem for me is that these techniques are great for winning memory championships but they are not so useful for everyday life as they won’t help you remember where you left your wallet, remind you of an appointment, outline directions to a place nor help you recall the events of the day.
The material can only be used to remember lists. If it could be used to remember anything else, you will not learn how in this book because all the examples Kevin provides are of lists like the list of Steven Covey’s 7 habits, Tony Robbin’s 10 Emotions of Power, United States’ first 12 presidents or the brain’s 12 cranial nerves.
Even then, the systems Kevin provides are overly complicated because to remember something as simple as a number, you have to do all sorts of conversions into pictures, sounds, or words. I mean for the number 6, you first convert it to either an elephant, sound of J, Sh, soft Ch or Soft G, or the word jaw. From there, you construct ridiculous words, sentences or stories from the converted pictures and sounds. All that to remember a simple number.
If you have dozens and dozens of facts and numbers to remember, the system will break down, you’re going to have too many rules and images in your head creating all sorts of confusion.
Kevin's book might be great for some as all these skeptical reviews suggest, but it wasn’t for me.

Practical methods to improve your memory
Whether you are looking for ways to remember names, numbers, texts, or whatever else you won't be disappointed. There's something in here for everyone. He walks through numerous methods for memory improvement and explains how you can store information for long term memory recall. This is sort of a different take on a self-development book, and everyone will walk away with something. Although the narration was a little fast while listening at normal speed, that can be fixed and it's a worthy read. Invest in your memory and yourself with this book.

Great book
Excellent book. Really inspiring.
I haven't come across many books as this one, in which all information presented is "quality" information. There is nothing to take away. Much more than a book about memory, the author shared with us principles that can also be used for self-development: discipline, focus...
I have really enjoyed the book and really want to work on my memory.

Talk about dragging on.....
I have had an accident and been advised to buy these books to help with my memory loss.
This book falls into the usual self help book catogory. It is 99% of the author praising a book he picked up before he was able to do anything for himself and magically turned him into a succesful person all because he found a secret within that book when he was younger.
Why don't they just stop trying to create a book with a certain amount of words in so they can call it a book and get mugs like me to buy it.
Just tell us the name of the book that magically changed their life and really help people instead of making me listen to the same boring stories you get in stop smoking, self help, improve your mind etc. (I have stopped smoking by myself. No help from any book)
oh, the book is not too helpful improving my memory but did help me improve falling asleep quicker.
As you can tell, I'm still looking for a good self help, stop being grumpy book.

Has helped me a lot.
Absolutely loved it - although it was quite long. Quite funnily it's about improving memory and, I had to listen to it 3 times because I'd forgotten what was said before in earlier chapters. The third time I wrote down notes of the techniques and tried them out. I tried a game with my siblings, to give me a list of 20 random objects in an order. And to their suprise I recalled them immediately afterwards. it was something like: apple, bed, carrot, dinosaur, elephant, flamingo, banana, shoes, igloo, etc etc. and my story went like: I was sitting on my bed eating a red apple, and I dropped my carrot. Then I looked outside the window and saw a huge T-rex dinosaur eating an elephant which was sitting on top of a bright pink flamingo. I ran downstairs and slipped on a banana so hard that my shoes flew off. I ran outside and it was snowing and I spotted a huge igloo in the neighbour's garden etc. (I'm really surprised I can still remember all of them now even 3 days after this happened, and I didn't even review it since then). It was very funny and amazing when I had explained and told the whole story out loud. Right now it's a cool party trick, but with enough practise I'm confident using all the techniques in this book that this could be utilised in a much more useful manner.

It says "Kevin Horsley" On The Tin....
but its not narrated by him. 3 minutes in to the far-too-fast narration with an annoying American (?) type accent I have decided its going back and I shall go back to watching Kevin on youtube with his beautiful Safa accent, passion and energy. The current narrator rattles it down like its a shopping list, no passion and the emphasis all wrong. I know there are some authors who can't narrate their own works, not everyone who can write well can read aloud but Kevin is a very accomplished and practiced speaker so there's really no excuse.

What a fabulous book!
I read it with a view to supporting my pupils - but found that it's more useful for me!
I heard a great word in the middle of the night last night (listening to the radio in bed) -APRICITY - meaning the warmth of the sunshine on a cold day - usually I forget new words but instead I popped the word (in my mind) on a pair of warm gloves on my hands and named the one glove -A Prison - I then picktured a proson with my son escaping through the door - leaving A pri and on the other glove I pictured the city of London (specigfially Tower of London). Wole up this morning and there it was on my hands APRICITY! Voila!
I also unexpectedly can name the first twelve USA presidents - I learned these on my way to Sainsbury's. I've never felt the need to know but there they are!
Target today to learn the alphabetic code to remembering number sequences. I've been given the tools and now I have to supply the batteries. Life changing book - thank you Kevin (Incidentally you are in my store as my monkey puppet (Kevin) riding on a horse with my husband Lee!

Changed my life!
It absolutely changed my life forever. I am 19, and very truly believed I had a memory condition. Prior to listening to this book, I took an iq test, and my memory score was the worst of all my scores. Now, I really believe I could learn and remember anything. My memory has become within the span of completing this book one of my strongest traits. Not even a couple weeks and my memory has exploded in strength. In fact, I spoke to my dear friend recently and told him of this book. At that moment he was sceptical of my praise for it and the change its brought about within me. So I immediately asked him to challenge my memory. He asked me to remember 12 random words. It took me 20 seconds to remember them perfectly. He asked me to recall the words, and I did flawlessly. He was shocked to say the least.
Now I feel absolutely confident I could study and ace any degree or area of academia I desire. Thus, my life is from now whatever great story I intend to make it. How successful I want to be is unlimited.
Long story short, thank Christ I got my hands on this.

Wonderful book and narrator
The book is just what I was looking for. Very short and pointed key strategies put in one well written book. Note: no PDF file to accompany the book comes with the book, but there is an option to download it free from a website mentioned in the 2nd chapter. Listened twice as didn't get some key points from the first time. Definitely worth time for me.

Brilliant, Life Changing
In the past I've looked online for memory techniques that I can use, but to little success. Kevin does a great job of teaching memory techniques and then giving exercises for being able to actually learn the techniques. It is interesting, fun to listen to, and has changed the way I approach learning now.
I suspect that my enjoyment of this book is due both to me having matured and how well written and narrated this book is.
I have even bought a physical copy of the book so I can teach my wife and children the amazing concepts in this book.

it was a wonderful book and easy to understand and implement .
the methods are really easy to understand and apply I needed to repeat some part to help me implementation it even better. the numbers are always a challenge for me he explains them very well. I had lots of fun with and enjoyed the other parts hips more as numbers are not that easy and fun usually , I wish there was a method to enjoy the numbers as much.

Really really good!
Absolutely worth it.
Highly recommend to those looking to improve their memory using multiple strategies and tips. Bought on audible, I found listening to a couple of chapters a day and practicing the methods easier for me. Therefore creating a stronger foundation for the next method.
