Publisher's Summary

Includes an audiobook-exclusive conversation between Bubba Watson and Don Yaeger!

He was a small-town boy who burst onto the international golf scene with a dramatic hook shot from deep in the woods to win the Masters - before the game he loved almost killed him. Opening up about the toll that chasing and achieving his dream of being a champion golfer took on his mental health, Bubba Watson shares his powerful story of the breaking point that gave him clarity.

Bubba Watson is known as the big-hitting left-handed golfer who plays with the pink driver - the small-town kid who grew up as a child golf prodigy before going on to win two Masters Tournaments, competing in the Olympics, and rising to be the number two golfer in the world.

But every dream comes with a price. Feeling that he was never good enough, Bubba began to let the constant criticism from fans and commentators haunt his thoughts. Success in the game he loved was killing him.

In Up and Down, Bubba opens up about his debilitating anxiety attacks, the death of his father and namesake, adopting his children, and how reaching a breaking point professionally and personally drew him closer to his family and God.

Golf is what Bubba Watson does, but it is not who he is. Through his story, you’ll learn how Bubba:

  • Overcame his anxiety and feelings of inadequacy
  • Found his true identity not in the standards of the world, but in the God who already knows he is enough
  • Learned to trust God with his gifts, family, and biggest dreams
  • Became the husband, father, friend, and mentor he was called to be

Life, like golf, is filled with ups and downs. Up and Down is the inspiring story of an imperfect man striving to become the best person he can be - wherever the course may take him.

Bubba did not write this

This is the quintessential ghost written celebrity book. No substance, humor, etc. I’ve listened to maybe 50 books on here and I have to say this if the only one I couldn’t wait to be over.

Boring for anyone who isn’t already a fan

I like Bubba Watson but I found this book quite boring. For the gardeners out there it doesn’t go into enough detail about how he plays the game on the course and for the non-golf nerd it doesn’t really delve too deep into his life. It is basically he grew up in Baghdad, played well young, won two masters, made some investments, adopted a couple kids, loves God the end

Great book

I am not a golf fan but have some awareness of the top players and personalities. I really enjoyed the book and appreciated Bubba's openness on various issues and topics. The book is also thought provoking and entertaining.

Doesn’t Live Up To Promise

Bubba is great, but was looking forward to a candid and personal look into his mental “ups and downs”.

This is little more than a glorified reading of his Wikipedia page.

Love Bubba. But, not the narrator.

Tough to make it through. Narrator takes a lot away from the story. Yep. And learn to pronounce Louis Oosthuizen. Thanks.

It’s a me, me, me book

Egotistical and narcissistic look at a privileged millionaire. I expected to be sympathetic because I liked his style. Not any more.

Thoroughly Enjoyable as expected🙏🏼

I’m a Huge Golf Fan, Golf Professional and Golf Passionist Since over 47 years now and Bubba is 100% in my Dream Fourball.

I believe he plays golf in the truest and most enjoyable fashion and I was curious about his ups and downs along the way.

Brutally honest, wonderfully entertaining and just honey for the golfing soul♥️.

Looking forward to your next book Bubba.
