Publisher's Summary

A month has passed since Oberon and Alessa defeated the Expedition forces sent against them by the Lordships. Their power has grown to the extent that the desert can provide. Ever frustrated by the level system of the world, he decides it's time to take a bigger piece of the pie. Marshaling his new forces, he heads into the continent. Mayhem is marching; may the gods have pity on anyone standing in his way.

As amazing as the first 2! I won’t lie at first was a little disappointed that the narrator changed but after I got over my self and just listened to it I was blown away the new narrator did a fantastic job! I can’t wait for book 3! if you liked the first 2 books you’ll love this one two!

One of the best!

I've loved this series and this one is my favorite so far. I was really invoved with the characters and the world they were in it was good to get lost in something. I really like the narrator. At first I was thrown becuse she's new but then I felt like she really made the story come to life. I like her voice too. Looking 4ward to next.

Great narration - good listen.

I enjoyed this a lot & loved the narrator Romy Nordlinger was excellent. She was very expressive and helped make this kind of simple story something with depth. I felt like I'd entered the world of the characters. There was lots of action and adventure too and it was fun. It was a little short and definitely simple and straightforward - nothing too deep. But overall I enjoyed.

New voice actor ruined it for me.

The story of book three is not as good as one and two but still decent and I wanted to finish the audio adaptation. However the performance by Romy (the new voice actor) is lack luster. She does not make distinctions in character voices. Making the story harder to follow. I found myself going back and listening to book two and comparing them. Eva seems to put more emotion into the characters as well as providing the characters with different sounding voices. I think the book would have benefited by keeping Eva as our female cast and getting a male voice actor for the male roles.

They changed actors

I got 1 minute into this book and that's it. once I found out the narrator of the MC was voiced by not only a different gender but, and nothing against the current narrator, and old crone trying to steal my soul. I gave up.

narrator mispronunciations driving me crazy

little issue but since it persists throughout the whole book the new narrator is calling Oberon Obreon. this wouldnt be an issue if throughout some parts of it she switches back to pronouncing it Oberon.

Well that's bad

The change of narrator is a massive NO. already a few minutes into the book and I knew I would struggle to finish. Mispronunciation of names and places and almost unchanging voice, makes it hard to figure out who is speaking at the moment.
In short, I'm not sure I'm gonna finish this book.

New Narrator

I couldn’t get that far with the audio book. The new narrator does not sound bad but mispronounced words and the change from a really good Narrator made it unbearable for me. Just going to read it on kindle.

Somehow just a dull extension to the story

Somehow! Somehow this new narrator manages to pronounce Oberon as Obrion! As in Oh-Brie-On? How!?
Is he a brand of squishy cheese?

The author does not really have a plot for each individual book, but more for a cross books. but he spend a lot of time 'retreading' or re-explaining relationships between characters from the previous books. So effectively, this book just does not really go anywhere for the first 5 chapters, just killing some low level villages and people.
No progression in the 'plot' or 'character' development department.

Could do for a lot more "show, don't tell".

It does not help that, the MC is less powerful than he used to be before, so everything is compared to a time 'when I was cooler, and I did stuff', Which just seems like we should just have that story instead of the current one

So all in all, a story about a Lich and Vampires on a rampage is kind of boring somehow?

please return to the original voice actress

The change in reader / voice actress was an issue for me as I was used to the original voice actress and found she did a better job. The actress in this book was not as good and her voice range for each character was very limited and I found myself at times wondering who was actually the perspective because the voices were quite similar especially at the start of the book. If there is a way to return to the original voice actress I feel that would be better for the overall enjoyment of the story.
