Publisher's Summary

The ultimate pilot has arrived. An unprecedented connection between man and machine.

Five years ago, aliens destroyed a carrier and its airwing at Jupiter without warning.

Since then, the Earth’s nations have learned to work together, and they want to know more about the aliens who appeared, attacked, and vanished without a trace.

The Americans have provided a new carrier and a slew of space fighters. Chinese engine and gravity technology has made going after the invaders possible. And the Russians have developed a new control system for the American fighters that will give the craft never-before-seen capabilities.

Most importantly, this blend of technology has allowed for pilots to connect directly to their ships, amplifying their reflexes and giving them the ultimate edge in combat.

Mankind’s next war is upon us, and Uplink Squadron is the tip of the spear.

It’s time to plug in and save the world.

Finally, a scifi series about pilots!

I love military scifi, but I have been waiting for someone to tell a GREAT story about pilots. This is it! Finally! I just finished listening and I can't wait for book 2! Seriously, thank you both so much for writing such a great book! I love this!

The best mil scifi of the year

This was one of my favorite military science fiction books ever. It's definitely the best one I've listened to in 2022. Luke Daniels takes the incredible story of Uplink Squadron to another level with his performance, reminding us all of why he's so prolific. The book itself is fantastic. I love Top Gun and scifi, so seeing these themes collide in something wholly original is truly inspiring. The characters feel real, the action is gritty and realistic, and the gimmick of hooking up a pilot's mind to the ship to improve speed is super fun and original. It really delivers on what it promises.

I've heard there will be more books in the series, so I'm very excited to see what happens next. Do yourself a favor and pick it up. If you like the genre and want something other than marines--something that is truly different--this is a great story that you just don't see much of these days.

total sci-fi

Full sci-fi action, pilots that can jack into there jet? count me in.
this book was so good, I loved it alot. J.N. Chaney deserves an award for best sci-fi book this year.

Luke Daniel's narration is very exceptional. Luke is very adept it what he does. his narration is so good, he can do different accents and different voices effortlessly. He really is praiseworthy. I can't wait for more Luke Daniel's.

J.N. Chaney write characters really well. All the characters in his story have a depth to them, and I would be lying if I said he writing skills aren't up to par. I mean just the premise of this book, jacking up into the fighter jet and feeling immersed in it. That's just so cool, and J.N. Chaney writes it well. You can tell he's really a expert when it comes to sci-fi books.
I like the mc, he's cool and it's so awesome listening to him in his jet. He has a depth that most characters don't. I don't really read sci-fi books often but i can tell you this is a good one.
There is so good character development in this story also, you could see the Mc change with what he was doing and what he was going to do, alot of sci-fi books can't get the character development part down. This one can.

The plot is good, I liked it. it could've been a little better but it's still good, my only problem with it is I feel it didn't have the depth I was looking for. It was an overall good storyline but I thought it could've been better.
The world building is like nothing I've experienced before. I don't really read sci-fi books but I can tell that this world building is unreal. The way the world is build and the detail that goes into it is just so awesome.
I loved the ending to this book, I think the start and the middle part were good, but the ending was superb and I found myself wanting more and more until it ended.

The action in this book is something I didn't even know I needed, this book is action packed and I loved listening to it. the action was detailed, and I just wish it was longer so I could listen to more. after this I'm going to have to get more books like this but I'm not sure any can compare.

There is alot of more stuff I can talk about in this review, but I think this is more than enough for you to know if you wanna get this book. I think it's worth the credit. I think after you listen you're gonna want book 2. The reason I know is because I want book 2, I can't wait for it to come out, and when it does best believe I'll be back.

Awesome ride

Loved the book and can't wait for the next. What more do I need to say? Pilots fighting aliens, jacked in to their ships, doing things we can only dream about. Grab your aviators and strap in. This is one hellava ride.

What more could you ask for?

I wasn't sure what to expect. JN Chaney is one of the best producers and writers working today in the industry, but I've never read anything by Kennedy so I wasn't sure what to expect. I should have known better. Chaney always partners with great cowriters and narrators. This one is no exception. Kennedy brings a new voice to the Chaneyverse (a term that Chaney's fans have come to call his many series), much the same way that Terry Mixon and Terry Maggert have before. Luke Daniels is also fantastic, bringing the same energy he brought to the Renegade Star series (Chaney's main series).

I'm hooked, so I'll be preordering book 2 as soon as it becomes available. Thanks for the ride, guys.

My first Audiobook review...

An understated and well-written space opera. Not so far in our future as to be unrecognizable. I really want more books with this storyline. Nice voice performance, not overheated and adequately close to the characters. Hope this is not just a one time performance but starts a new series.

pretty decent

what made me pick this book was the cover art use of the ADF-01 FALKEN from ace combat which uses the "coffin" system. the pilot uses a unlink and see using cameras ( white circles on the plane).the story kind of just jumps into it a bit fast for my taste. the accent of the different characters was a bit Saturday morning cartoonish. I'm still in the beginning but it's going well. UPDATE: well the book doesn't focus on the aliens at all and are mostly just a back drop for the story. we don't know why they attacked us and what how they look. then you throw in a 1950s level of different aliens and I'm like what? everyone throwing nukes around like candy and they focus to much on the SI and trying to be funny. it's a ok book but forgettable

A thrill ride

Another great new series from JN Chaney. As others have stated, he has impeccable taste with the cowriters he works with. Kennedy is a gem and he brings his piloting experience to this series with great success. I hope we get more books in the series soon. I'm not sure I can wait.

Another regurgitated JN Cheney book - all the same

This author just regurgitates dialog amongst all books. Terrible dialog and terrible plot - do not recommend
