Wrong narrator

They should've used the same narrator from "Whisper's in the Tall Grass" and We Few". Great book, but it was a struggle with the narrator.

Did you eat your editor?

Incomprehensible, along with frantic narration makes this title a must miss. Too bad - Nicks first two books are genius. What a disappointment.

Disappointed

Narrator not great. like two different people from the first books. was really excited to hear the continuation but the narrator fell extremely short. the humor and mannerisms of the first narrator were just lost with this one. I can't even stay interested. four hours in and I have no idea what is going on

WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE NARRATOR!?

George Spelvin WAS Nick Brokhausen in my head. totally ruined the listening of this third book as bad as I wanted to hear it and as much as I couldn't walk away from Nick's 3rd addition. very dissatisfied.

An interesting continuation of the first two works

The stories were engaging and humorous, well-written in the same sarcastic prose Brokhausen is known for. The narrator was no slouch, but Brokhausen will forever sound like the one from We Few and Whispers in the Tall Grass, which were related with equal smarm and irreverence in a tone that complimented the author's words.

Nick Brokhausen is an excellent story teller.

Nick is a great wordsmith who’s real life experiences captivate better than any fiction. Most people would have to live a hundred lives to match the types adventures and experiences that Nick and Jeff and their cohorts have survived (and actually thrived).
Curiosity is the seductive cerebral elixir that may lead one to a life of adventure addiction.. Watch out for old men in a young man’s profession....

Great book again

i loved Brockhausens first two books. This book has good stories but unfortunately the narrator reads so rapidly its not that easy to follow... Brockhausen is better than the narrator...😊

What an amazing life.

I have now heard all of Nick Brokhausen's books through Audible. As an ex Australian combat medic trained infantry, then caught up in the world of our own SOG for over two decades from the late 80's to 2003, I was emersed in his world from the first book's beginning to the last words in this last book. I am sure that all men who have had the experiences of similar threats will understand and also, no doubt, feel the same. In a very rare way, it has become such that I feel like I have shared in his experiences and was with him, that I know him on a personal level and yet... He is of the generation of men that trained me and prepared me for the next series of political f#*k ups that we participate in. His ability to recall so much is staggering to the imagination of this individual. I have trouble remembering events in the last 18 years, but before that I am good to go. The change of Narrator threw me a little, I had listened to each book in order, one after the other and had grown used to hearing the sound of Nick as the voice used in his SVN days Lol. I often wondered as I listened, with all that globe trotting... did they have frequent flyer points back then 🤔. There is so much I would like say on a personal level to Nick, but the most important thing is how much I Respect him, I am grateful to him and I wish him every success no matter if he retires or runs another venture. Just record it vocally each day, the next book will be loved by people like me and you. Those who are considering this book, I can only say that it does stand alone as a good book, but if you really want to know the whole story, then read all Nick Brokhausen's books in chronological order. You will not regret it.
