Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Wells: The first thing I notice about Conor Newell when he sits down in my high-rise conference room is how delightfully nervous he is. Then I see his tie. The same geeky tie that’s held hostage on my phone. The one that belongs to my anonymous late-night texter. And it changes everything.

Story
He promised to never leave me. But when I needed him the most, that was exactly what he did. Wilderness guide Xander Reed has spent fifteen years trying to forget the night he turned to his best friend in his darkest hour, only to find the young man who'd sworn to always have his back was turning his on Xander instead. Two thousand miles and fifteen years of building a new life in the quiet backcountry of the Rocky Mountains should have been enough to put the memory of Bennett Crawford out of his mind.

I've been in love with my best friend since forever. Okay, fine. Like, kindergarten. It started out platonic, obviously, but then became.... Nope. Still platonic. The problem is that Parker Ellis has been straight since forever. And that makes it difficult to convince him that the two of us are meant to be together. And now, there's no point. All is lost. I left my family and tiny Texas hometown 15 years ago to escape small-town gossips and to give my mom and sister the chance at a better life. But when a phone call from an attorney back home informs me that my sister passed away, leaving me custody of her newborn baby, I'm shocked out of the steady life I've built for myself running a tattoo shop in San Francisco. The thing is: I don't do babies. And I don't do small towns. Or commitment. And I especially don't do family.

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

Publisher's Summary
Wanted: One night together, no strings attached. Hold me, make love to me, treat me like I’m the most important person in the world. No talking. No names. And don’t be surprised if I’m gone in the morning.
After crushing on my best friend for years, I realize he’ll never want someone inexperienced like me. So I decide to get it over with, play the V-card once and for all with an anonymous hook-up. The terms are simple: No talking, no names.
It isn’t as easy as it seems. Now I can’t get the handsome stranger who greeted me with soft kisses and gentle touches out of my mind. Those hands, those lips...but it was just a one-time thing, and I need to forget about him once and for all.
At least I know I won’t ever see him again - until I board a flight and catch sight of a familiar profile in the cockpit just as the door closes.

OMG... what a start: Wanted: One night together, no strings attached. Hold me, make love to me, treat me like I’m the most important person in the world. No talking. No names. And don’t be surprised if I’m gone in the morning.
Can you imagine... breathtaking ... intimacy without a word. Not even to exchange names. WOW!
This is a story about two people who shared a special night together and then went on to live their own lives. No numbers exchanged. No way to get in touch with each other again.
Ok, you know and I know that these two will end up together again ... BUT ... for how long? One of them is in love with another man since childhood... that's 20 years. The other doesn't want a relationship because its difficult since he's a pilot. Now what?
This book is beautifully written and Michael Dean brings this book to life. He did such an amazing job. Each voice was easily distinguishable and the emotions were so well depicted. Awesome job!
I love the intimate scenes between characters... and the hot scenes were very yummy! :P
I highly recommend this book. Definitely a keeper in my library. Enjoy!

The Seasoned Pilot and the Virgin Flyer
I have yet to meet a Lucy Lennox book I didn’t love. With Virgin Flyer, I loved it so much that it might become one of my favorites. It’s her first stand alone book and although I love her series, I appreciated she had a story she wanted to tell and that she took the risk to dot it. It’s always a gamble to step away from what you’re known for. That being said, this is a classic Lucy Lennox romance with all the feel good ‘aw’ moments that I’ve come to look forward to. I’ll add in that Michael Dean narrated this book and, again, he’s just perfect. His voices for Teo and Jack were perfect and his choices for the elder Hattie and Mr. Banks were also spot on.
I loved the premise of this book. A guy who’s been in love with his best friend for years believes he’ll never get anywhere if he doesn’t play his V-card. Teo’s friend Chris has dated many women in their young lives, but he’d pledged himself to Teo when they were young and he’s clinging to that promise. Chris wouldn’t have said it if he didn’t mean it, right? And he’s staying in the closet because of his homophobic family but eventually he’ll be in the position to take his relationship with Teo public.
Except, is there really a relationship? That’s the question that carries through the book.
Teo creates a profile on a hook up app and asks for one night. One night – no names, no words – just a night of gentle affection and no recriminations. His ad broke my heart because the guts it took to put himself out there like that… To have waited twenty-six years and then being willing to risk it all for a one-night stand took guts. He lucked out with Jack, though. Jack the seasoned pilot who lives for hook-ups because he’s not ready to settle down. A friendly guy who enjoys a healthy sexual appetite, but also is moved by the plea of this young man. When he wakes up alone after their night together, he is a little disappointed. But it was meant to be a one-off, so he moves on with his life.
Until fate intervenes.
Turns out that Jack is the pilot of Teo’s virgin flight. I won’t go into the details, but the two men wind up in close quarters for a while. Given their past, is it any surprise they get together again. Only this time words are exchanged and they both realize they can help the other man out. Each could really use a fake boyfriend. And a plan is hatched.
I love the fake boyfriend trope, especially when it is done well. I also think it’s great when the stakes are higher – as in both men need a boyfriend and so there’s a mutuality to the situation. And there’s a lot of give and take in the relationship. I might have also cried a bit with one of the secondary characters and equally been in awe of another. Quick plug – if you subscribe to Lucy’s newsletter you get all these little short scenes. I was hoping one of the characters would get his own book. He didn’t, but the short I got to read was satisfying enough. Also, Teo’s friend Chris was just a jerk but I want to believe some day he’ll get his comeuppance. And find the man he’s destined to be with.
Okay, so I hope I’ve convinced you to give this book a try. I adored it and can’t wait for the next Lucy project. And of course Michael Dean will be narrating so, like, yay!

Sweet and refreshing!
Teo is a nurse, and in love with his very straight best friend. All he wants is to forget about his unrequitted crush, have a one night stand with a stranger, lose his virginity and never see his anonymous hookup again.
But it isn't so easy to wine and dash especially when he boards his flight and catches a glimpse of the sexy pilot in the cockpit, who happens to be the very man he hoped he would never run into again.
This was such a sweet romance. Teo and Jack were totally adorable. I loved the banter and the chemistry between them. Overall, this was a fun, engaging and low on the angst.
Michael Dean did an amazing audio delivery. His seamlessly and smooth narration literally brings this book to life.
A definite recommend if you like a sweet and fun, light hearted listen.

MM Virgin Romance
I really enjoyed this read. It was low angst between the two MCs and they fit together very well. Teo was a wonderful character if not completely naive about his bestie, who I never did like...Then you have Jack who is a bit clueless about what he really wants, until of course Teo opens his eyes to it over Grindr. I liked that they met on Grindr and it made sense. I also liked that neither knew how to get ahold of the other until they have a rare happenance. I also would literally never fly again if that was my first and only experience with any type of flying. So I thought the flying and then the sky diving was perhaps not sure realistic, but I have done things I did not think I was capable as well, so maybe it is. Jack and Teo's relationship happens gradually after they reconnect and I like the fake boyfriend trope, and I liked that it did show both Jack and Teo what/who they really wanted. Michael Dean narrated this it was done well. Definitely recommend to someone looking for this type of story.

Standard fluffy fare that won't let you down
Teo and Jack are really sweet together! They both want domestic bliss, and they find it in such an unexpected place (a sexy, no-talking-allowed anonymous hookup). Teo is hung up on his best friend who's been stringing him along, and Jack has been avoiding relationships to focus on his piloting career, so they're surprised to find themselves in each other's arms. There's no angst or heavy hardships. Anything that might be heavy in another story is handled lightly in this one and happens mostly off-screen, only seen through the eyes of Teo and Jack giving each other support. They share a ton of sexy moments, meaningful talks, and domestic scenes. The domesticity is adorable, although a bit boring in places--but I can easily imagine this being someone's perfect cup of tea.
A running theme in this story is that people sometimes fall in love even when they aren't right for each other. The love is real, but they can't give each other what they need, so they should let each other go. It takes loving someone who CAN give you what you need to build the life you want. Both men, especially Teo, learn this throughout the book and find what they need in each other. It's so dang sweet and fluffy.
The progression to a relationship is perfectly paced. I was happily surprised by the fake boyfriend trope! One of my favorite things. It's not beaten to death, either. It's used effectively and believably, then dispensed with at the right time. Refreshing for this trope.
Despite enjoying the story, one gripe of mine got in the way sometimes. Teo's characterization feels like it was taken from the mold of the typical female lead of straight romances. I like gender nonconforming male characters, so I was initially excited by Teo's character, but everything kept stacking until it started to feel less like something refreshing for a male character and more like something unimaginative lifted from a straight romance archetype. He feels as though he's written like the stereotypical "perfect" woman/wife, and he never deviates from that or has any other depths. The natural caregiver who loves to cook for others, coos at baby clothes, saves himself, knits, and only takes D, never gives... Sigh, it's just too much. He even babbles excessively and fact-drops when nervous, which is a sorry excuse for a personality trait for anyone, made worse in this case by how overused it is for female romance leads. I love Teo, but I won't delude myself that his characterization occurred in a vacuum free from the influence of heteronormative writing tropes.
Early on, the book takes a jab at people who complain about heteronormativity, and I wonder if that was a "one who doth protest too much" moment. When it happens, Teo's gay/bi friends are talking about their unmarried lifestyles (these lifestyles are framed as bad later on), and Teo thinks longingly about traditional marriage. The thing is, it's not the male leads wanting marriage and a family that raises the heteronormativity red flags, it's Teo's whole-ass character. It made me uncomfortable at times. The story's sweetness helped me through it. Well, through most of it. I still can't stomach the cringe-worthy scene in which Teo gets weirdly excited to prepare a hot dog for Jack at a Baseball game in stereotypical girlfriend-relegated-to-the-snacks fashion. Ugh, bleck.
The ending is a bit corny, although over-the-top displays of love suit the white picket fence kind of traditional love Jack and Teo both want. Still, the corniness isn't really my taste. Grand gestures can be heartwarming without the stereotypical setup of an audience around to cheer for the romantic leads.
The narration is amazing and totally elevates the story. Great, dynamic voices and effective emotional delivery.

First half is great but then becomes tropey.
This was slightly tropey and super focused on conflict from miscommunication, both characters having feelings but hiding it because of 'reasons' (that arnt entirely relatable or realistic) and a 'fake' boyfriend scenerio.
---
The entire book was overall just about a sad and pathetic main character and his inability to see past being friend zoned for a decade. The entire book is about his very obvious solution internal conflict. It's infuriating after a while because i kinda get sick of hearing it and not really believing it because the writing just doesn't make it believable enough.
---
The first half of the book was great but it went downhill very quickly after that.
---
All the characters are so unlikeable. The 2 main characters are difficult to like and the main Antagonist Chris is just a complete jerk and super obviously manipulative. I also find it hard to believe based on how easily the main characters friend called out Chris and knew what he's been doing for years that they would at no point share this info. It all is handled by his friends like 'duh, we know he's manipulating you we just didn't want to tell you because (reasons)". Like, really? A decade? And the entire books premise is balanced on this? Seems a bit much and requires some suspension of disbelief in human intelligence.
---
After the first half of the book is over it settles into this story line that we have all read before if we have read a lot of mm romance. It becomes this typical fake boyfriend storyline and takes a long time before the characters kinda become slightly likable.
---
With nearly the entire book of all these guys being so flawed and not having anything really to attach to as a reader other then the Erotic moments are sexy and that they are described to be sexy, it's hard to really appreciate what read when you're finished with this.
---
I really enjoyed the Erotic scene at the beginning of the book and the set up that led to it and the tension that occurred immediately after. But after that is done, it gets kinda abrasive and boring.
---
Also the most frustrating part of this book.
Slight spoiler ahead, kinda not really since it's so obvious with this kinda trope. But these guys don't get their act together and finally figure out their relationship until the last 5 minutes of this book and then the story quickly ends!
Absolutely disgraceful.

Super Cute
This was a sweet romance, and I really enjoyed the MC. I thought the plot was different enough to make it fun to listen to, and the narrator was, as usual, fantastic.

Roller coaster
A roller coasters of emotions
When you love some characters but hate others you know you have a great book.
This book was a little different from Lucy other books but still had all the angst and drama.
The performance was great, I enjoyed Michaels take on the characters
Another great book from Lucy Lennox

I don't like this narrator.
I wished Mr. Dean would stop trying to fake laughter. It makes his characters goofy and phony.
On top of that, he chose for these two characters the same voices as for Felix and the Prince. For a big part of the novel I kept thinking it was that other performance, so I could not realy get in to enjoying it.
I loved the story and listened to it in one go.

Sweet & frustrating at times
I loved this story, but felt a bit frustrated with Teo at times, possibility because of personal experience. Otherwise loved how they developed friendship as well as fell on love.

A lovely surprise
I enjoyed this book, and it’s probably the best one Lucy Lennox has done so far. Hopefully there’s more in the series. It’s so much better than most M/M books out there, too.

cute & romantic
I found this book ok, bit of a struggle to finish it was very similar to other books by this author but seemed to be missing some spark. overall it was ok if your a big fan of the author you'll enjoy it but I found it to be more of the same. I forwarded through a lot of it & to be honest even the ending wasnt all that interesting.
