Story
The Japanese ideology, wabi-sabi, teaches us to reflect on the benefits that are concealed in our daily lives, and appreciate as things are rather than how they ought to be. Wabi-sabi rewards genuineness. Wabi sabi with a conscious choice is like a minimalism. It's as simple (or as difficult) to follow wabi sabi as understanding and accepting yourself - imperfections, and everything. It's about being honest about yourself as you are, and improving on anything that's - not striving feverishly to reinvent yourself and appear as something else completely.

Story
With Japanese and Buddhist roots dating back hundreds of years, wabi-sabi is a world view that centers on the acceptance of the changeability and imperfections of life, of self, and of the world around us. Finding beauty in that imperfection and changeability has been the key to thoughtfulness, peace, and tranquility for many since its use has become more widespread.

Story
There's no denying that modern living has afforded us lots of good things with all manner of convenience. Today, we can stay cool, no matter how hot it gets outside, thanks to our air-conditioned rooms. In seconds, we can talk face-to-face with someone halfway across the world, thanks to the internet. So, why are there so many of us who feel disconnected and unhappy?

Story
Wabi-sabi represents the cosmic Zen nihilist view and seeks beauty in the flaws found as all things evolve from nothing in a constant state of flux, and return to nothingness. Within this never-ending movement, nature leaves for us to contemplate arbitrary tracks, and it is these random flaws and irregularities that offer a model for the modest and humble expression of elegance in wabi-sabi.

Story
This japanese philosophy will help you regain happiness, appreciate imperfection, and lead a mindful and decluttered life. Mainstream culture teaches us to strive for perfection and to want more. You’ve spent time and money trying to achieve that perfection...and ended up being sad and frustrated. Let’s stop and think whether it’s really necessary. Perfection gets boring, so why don’t we enjoy the uniqueness of imperfection? People and things age with time, so why don’t we accept and appreciate aging as an inevitable part of life?

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

An updated version of the seminal 1994 classic volume on the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Nearly every book with "wabi" or "wabi sabi" in the title is based on the concepts first elucidated in this book. Wabi-sabi is the quintessential Japanese aesthetic. It is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. It is a beauty of things unconventional....

In most nations and in all climes there are those who've relied upon the ability of herbs, trees, plants, and blossoms. Many historical races had their own sacred plant or tree. For example, the pine tree was the sacred tree of the early Celts and the druids placed great store in the ability of mistletoe which grows upon the walnut. Even to this very day, the people of wales phone it prewar, "the tree". From the same way that the early Greeks and Romans venerated the pine tree along with the ash. This was the belief of those ancients that man sprang out of a tree.

Publisher's Summary
The term wabi sabi indicates impermanence, humility, asymmetry, and imperfection. Such underlying principles are diametrically opposed to those of their Western counterparts, whose beliefs are grounded in a Hellenic ethos that emphasizes longevity, grandeur, harmony, and beauty.
Wabi sabi is a core element of Japanese people's aesthetic sense and gentle nature. It's a belief system that guides the way they live life, though it's rarely talked about. The presence is everywhere and yet it can be seen nowhere. People intuitively know what the wabi sabi concept stands for, but few can express that. Wabi sabi is a mysterious enigma that aims to whisper important insight to those who are patient enough to explore and view it with an open mind.
The core values of wabi sabi:
- Wabi sabi rewards genuineness.
- Wabi sabi with a conscious choice is like a minimalism.
- Simply put, wabi sabi lets you be yourself.
- Embrace the incomplete beauty of being you.
- The flaw is not hidden, but is revealed.
Wabi sabi is about appreciating the things we have, the people we love, and the opportunities we have in our lives.
In this book, we will discuss many more topics as accompaniments to the concept of wabi sabi. Enjoy!

Very flawed
I was skeptical from the onset. One cannot really create a two volume all inclusive manual on something that would take a lifetime to understand. But I think this is a good introduction to the topic.
My biggest problem is the narrator (if you can even call her that)
This person spent zero time learning how to pronounce the Japanese and Chinese words for the concepts presented. If it was one or two words I could overlook this but she butchers almost every single foreign word. As if that wasn't horrific enough she also murders English words. How this woman ever got a job reading is beyond me. Not only does she eviscerate the language but her cadence is very mechanical, almost like a AI voice reading text.
