Couldn't stop smiling
Any additional comments?
I am a big fan of Gail Carriger and she does not disappoint in this installment of the finishing school series. This book was funny, action packed and just adorable. The match between narrator and content was perfect, I can't imagine this book read any other way, Moira Quirk completely nailed it. I couldn't stop listening even though I wanted it to last longer. I loved where the story went and will be eagerly anticipating the next one as well as a new series due to be released in March. There are few books that are as delightful to listen to as this one. Thanks Audible!

Love the style of this series
If you could sum up Waistcoats & Weaponry in three words, what would they be?
Entertaining, captivating, and Perfect
Who was your favorite character and why?
Soap, hands down.
Have you listened to any of Moira Quirk’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to many and she will always be one of my favorites.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES
Any additional comments?
I love this series, even more so than the parasol protectorate series. This doesnt read like a harlequinn romance but rather like a series. Character development is slow and great and I just love all the characters.

FANTASTIC Performance!!
Finishing School - Book the Third: not the wildest plot of the bunch, but certainly just as entertaining and well performed!! I'll actually take it a step further and say this was Moira Quirks best performance yet. Her spunk and exaggeration, along with her ability to perform countless voices, literally transforms her in to each character making you completely forget that only one person is actually reading. Sad to know there is only one book left, but for me, this is a series I will be listening to again.

An amusing installment in a hilarious series
This series is a delightfully funny romp through vampire and werewolf inhabited Victorian England. I found this book to be not quite up to par with its fellows, yet still very entertaining. Bottom line, it's still worth spending the credit, but not quite as brilliant as the first two books in the series.

A good third installment of the series.
Would you listen to Waistcoats & Weaponry again? Why?
Yep
Who was your favorite character and why?
Impossible to pick a favorite. Great character development on all of them.
What does Moira Quirk bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This narrator brings a charm to the characters which helps the personalities shine. She does a splendid job.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reaction but it was satisfying.
Any additional comments?
The story had a plot twist or two that I was not expecting. It seemed to drag a little a couple of times but it was worth sticking with. I'll definitely be completing the series. Overall my favorite author in the genre with a superb mix of humor while embracing the basics of steam punk.

Any additional comments?
Gail Carriger does it again. She has written another fantastic book creating another mandatory binge listening situation. Worth it every time. I also always find it hard to decide what my next book will be after I finish a book by Carriger, because what I really want to read is another book by Carriger.

Little more than a Short Story Filler
I do like the series, the setup and characters. But was disappointed in this installment. There is little plot, and missed opportunities. For instance there is a ball for Sophronia's older brother's engagement but the older brother and his intended don't get any story time. Instead we read about hours of dressing and gossiping. Then the engagement party is reduced to an opportunity for mischief and our cast of characters are off on balloon and train chases. The book substitutes chase scenes for plot development.
Ultimately 3 characters face life altering decisions because they couldn't stay home and let adults take care of the problem of what will become of the Scotland werewolf pack. The book ends before they come near the pack. The plot really is that thin. They do discover a couple of clues but the plot is only advanced slightly.
The best part is the fight with steel fans.
If you want plot, wait for the next book. If you enjoy long expositions about a girls' school and who to love or not, with occasional daring do, read on.
