We all sit on the edge of a mystery. We have only known this life, so dying scares us - and we are all dying. But what if dying were perfectly safe? What if you could approach dying with curiosity and love? What if dying were the ultimate spiritual practice?

They share intimate personal experiences and timeless practices for every aspect of this journey. Wow - the love comes through

This audiobook is full of truth and wisdom. I was enjoying the hardcopy book so much, but I wanted to hear Ram Dass and Mirabia's voices, so I got the audio book too. I listened a little last night, and I heard some wisdom in a different way from what I gleaned from the written word. I think I'll do what I did as a kid -- lay down on the floor with pillows and blankets, turn on the audio book, and follow along with the words. I can't wait.

I've had the great honor of sitting with Ram Dass at his house myself, and I've had the privilege of receiving teachings from Mirabia on several retreats, and this book captures the essence of these beings, and their love and wisdom shines through. Listening to it, I am there in Maui again, swimming in the ocean of the love with them. What a gift.

Facing Death in the Time of COVID19

I've had a really hard time with all this COVID stuff. I'm super high-risk who would surely die if I got it. A friend recommended this book and it really has helped me calm down and be ready for death if it does come to visit.

I needed this book very badly.

Timely wisdom and insight

This book came into my awareness...perfectly timed as I began to sit on the “edge of awakening” with a childhood friend on hospice. Truly and deeply grateful for the wisdom, love and fearlessness expressed by Ram Dass and Mirabai about dying and death. If there was anything missing it was just that there are no chapter titles, but not a big issue given the depth of insight.

Must Read.

This is deep and can be a very heavy. But if you have the courage to go there ... you will find this remarkably freeing!

Pediatric Cancer Death ..... healing

Ram Dass and narrator Mirabai deliver an authentic healing caress adorned with the familiar ease of listening to an old story from your grandmother.

Outlier

Wow, I'm definitely an outlier here. I could not handle this book. I'm not sure if it was the narrator, or the hodgepodge format of the story telling. I have listened to many books one death/dying and have enjoyed them all, but this one was a huge disappointment. Walking Each Other Home left me irritated and waiting for something of substance to happen.

More than one way to view death

Death can be a very emotional experience but the book shows how it can be a very loving experience.

Deeply meaningful and warmly told.

A book to listen to over and over again. Found particular resistance with the medication guides in the later chapters. A blessing of a book.

Great!

Must hear for everyone that is going to die someday or knows someone who will. But once again terrible chapter organization by Audible, there are over 100 chapters.

It's like I was there❤

Amazing! I finished it quickly as it engaged me from the beginning. It's like you're there, with Mirabai and Ram Dass and see all the conversations. It's like you are the observer.

inspirational

a conversation for everyone, even if you aren't dealing with the looming topic of death. I love how human everyone is in this book, no pretending of being so enlightened that everyday fears don't effect them which makes this super relatable and food for the soul.

Need to listen again

Hard to get into but then eased into the story like floating just a little at a time immersing into the richness.
Listen if you want to let go of knowing and become present .
Enjoy
