Story
The illegal Monster Hunt app has definitely done a number on Chase Knowles’ life, transforming him from a down-on-his-luck musician to the Alpha of two incredible Huntresses. Along with his bandmate, Iris, the group has taken New York City by storm, hunting and brawling in the city’s landmarks and hard-to-reach spaces. But there is more to the Monster Hunt app than catch or sell. An exclusive world known as EverLife presents new challenges, new adventure, and a mystery that none have been able to solve. It also presents new foes.

Story
Inmate 5313 reached the end of his sentence after 10 grueling years. That is, until the wrong question led to a beating with an exclusive stay in the fridge. Before the badges manage to lock him into cryostorage for a nightmare-fueled nap, several explosions send the prison barge plummeting into a frozen planet in unclaimed space. This is the first day of Seb’s freedom, an ill-starred future that includes banding together with cutthroat mercenaries, bartering with sordid information brokers, and fighting against the galaxy's ruthless corporations.

Sebastian Frost’s most recent memory was waking up in a field naked, in a body that wasn’t his own, in a world that definitely wasn’t his own, and three stunning pointy-eared women staring right at him. He also remembered hair as white as starlight, eyes like amethysts, and the name Shalia. Fortunately, it was the right name to know. Shalia was the elves’ goddess, and that made him her herald.

In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

bad story bad plot all around weird
the author is so busy trying to create a strange harem that he neglects creating basic story and stringing together a basic plot. five chapters in and I have to call it quits here. I kind of want to finish this book but it's just not good. it's almost like the author has never met a human being and doesn't know how people act his characters live in a crazy weird place where people act completely counter to regular people the law is strange beyond belief with very little explanation. the offer does little to help you suspend your disbelief he just throws you into a strange story and assumes that boobs and harems will carry you through.

Sub-par story elevated by excellent performances
Little world building, meandering plot, under-developed characters, and a self-inpressed author fixated with being crass for the sake of it. Apparently, this is a new storyline in an existing world, so a lot of the setting assumes you've read the other stories. I don't know why the characters want to be heroes without imposing why I would want to be a hero on them. After they get their powers they don't register themselves despite that being a central feature of their plight through the story. The author seems to break up chapters early so he can insert a meta/teasing title he thinks is funny and you will know how each of the women is dressed in every scene, but I can't tell you what the male lead looks like other than having black hair. And by the end, no plotline is finished.

Superb narration (I'll listen to anything with Andrea parsneau narrating in it.)
Story was okay, decent characters, but no overall story arc.
Note: whomever decided to throw random midi music behind narration at times should be sacked. Drove me crazy trying to listen to the book with looping music behind it.

Good narration but super unnecessary background music
I liked the story and the narrirators, but often times, and by that I mean A LOT of times random background music would start playing, drowning out the voices. These background music add nothing to the story, and most of them don't even match the mood of the scene.
I would've enjoyed this audiobook a lot more without the music.

Music is distracting
I’m hard of hearing already so when the background music is playing, it’s loud enough to distract from the narration. Maybe turn the volume down a bit? Also, some of the female’s narration was so soft I had to turn up the volume to hear, only to get blasted when the male comes back on.
Otherwise, loved the story and always love Harm’s work!!

Did they actually listen to the effect of the music?
I really enjoyed this book ... except for the music. It was loud and often contrasted with the mood. The narration and voicings were delightful, and the humor was often brilliant. But the music reminded me of the old forgotten days when a cassette tape would get stuck in a car player and those songs would become the soundtrack of your life, playing over and over regardless of your desires. I hope in the sequel that they take cues from any movie, and use the music to enhance the story, rather than smother it.

Honestly I got this because I like alot of lit RPG's and some super hero stories, also it was free so worth giving a try. I'm really not enjoying it though! Wich is a shame. The characters are lack-luster and seem very generic. there's also a distinct lack of direction. it feels like a bad p@rn set up. Just disappointed.

An Enjoyable Listen
Another stort from Centralia for Cooper as this ties in with other events from the Centralia world although a little tamer than his harem series House of Dolls their will be quite a few recognisable names and characters that appear in this one.
Some great moments and i liked the idea of how the class system works for the powered and non powered ( exemplar) . The narration is as you would expect another wonderful effort from the SBT team with characters mood music to help give it something extra.

Good narration, mediocre story
This is how narration should be done, however not Harmon cooper's best work.
More audible titles need to be narrated by multiple VA/narrators.
