Publisher's Summary

BookBub best-selling author Barbara Hinske's beloved Rosemont saga continues, with secrets in the shadows and love in the air.

Maggie Martin's plans to start a serene new life have been derailed. As the beleaguered mayor of Westbury, she's at the epicenter of the town's worsening financial crisis. The looming foreclosure of its senior center followed by a suspicious death have fueled a barrage of public criticism all pointed her way. And she may have unwittingly invited a traitor into her inner circle. Throw in a lovelorn daughter, an attic full of surprises - at least one of which is most unwelcome, too many guests for Thanksgiving dinner, and an uncertain relationship with her favorite veterinarian, and Maggie has her hands full.

Her nemesis on the town council, wealthy businessman Frank Haynes, is up to what he does best - no good. He's poking around in her late husband's shady past to unearth whatever he can find that will help him gain the upper hand over Maggie. But his new assistant from Scottsdale may have her own tricks up her sleeve.

With trouble all around, will the winds of change blow favorably or foul for Maggie? Curl up and travel to the enchanting world of Rosemont and its irrepressible owner.

I LOVE this series!!!

Weaving the Strands by Barbara Hinske is Book #2 in The Rosemont Series. It is fantastic!!! After listening to Book #1: Coming to Rosemont, I knew I had to buy the rest of series, so I did!! At the time, books 1-3 were available on Audible, but I see now that book 4 is out. I WILL be buying it right after I am finished with this review!! I love Barbara Hinske's writing...I feel like I have known the characters forever, and I feel like the Rosemont home is an actual character itself. How? I don't know, but I do! I wish I could go stay with Maggie for a week...or a year (hehee)...in this elegant home. Let me tell you, I am not someone who obsesses over houses. I am a home owner and I take good care of my house, but I do not find joy in making improvements (redecorating, new floors, etc.). But, for some odd reason I daydream often about the Rosemont home!! I even imagine myself cleaning and planting flowers! What?!!!?! Rosemont has a hold on me....but, I like it. :-)

The narrator Dina Pearlman is outstanding! She has become one of my top 3 favorite narrators! She is the only person I want to hear when listening to this series. I love everything about the way she tells a story, from her distinct voice to the way she portrays each of the characters. I have even started building my wish list full of other books she has narrated because I know her performance will not disappoint.

I highly recommend this book and this series!! I absolutely LOVED Coming to Rosemont (Book 1). So, if you are at all thinking about reading Weaving the Strands (Book 2), make sure to first read book 1. It will give you a better understanding of and appreciation for the characters, the Rosemont home, and the community. Plus, I am 100% sure you WILL LOVE it as much as I did, leaving you begging for book 2.

One last note: After falling in love with the Rosemont series, I decided to find the author on social media. Wow! I'm so glad I did because I joined a Facebook page/group for fans of the series, and I signed up for the author's newsletter. It's so great!! She also has a YouTube channel that she uses to create videos for her readers. She takes us on video tours of her own home that actually resembles Rosemont, reads excerpts from her books, and introduces us to Rosemont theme music. She is such a delight!! I do hope you give this series a try. I sure you will fall in love, just as I have!

Thank you for reading my review. :-)

Below standard for Audible

Janis Barnett
This recording was not up to Audible’s standard. The story is ok, but the audio recording was terrible. The performance by Dina Pearlman sounded very amateurish, as if she had not prepared before reading. I have listened to many Audible books, and this was the least favorite in terms of recording quality (sounded like she was in a barrel) and vocal interpretation of the story. The story itself is ok...predictable like a Hallmark movie, but fairly entertaining. I will read the rest of the Rosemont series to see how it ends, but will not waste an Audible credit for the audio version. I will return it because it is really below par. Please, Audible...you can do better with performance and recording quality! This was an “Audible Original.”

This book kept me in suspense. That Frank Haybes is a piece of work! Maggie is going to have to be 50 steps ahead of he and Delgado!

Booooooring

The first book had potential with the missing money...soooo slowwww...having worked in hospitality catering fir large groups, prob the most impressive thing was the fact tystvthe author thought to write in port-a-potties for the large event scene. Crappers are the highlight.
