Publisher's Summary

An abandoned old house in a small town northeast of Houston is the site of a second murder, eerily similar to a supposed cold case of 14 years earlier. FBI Agents CJ Johnston and Paige Riley are dispatched to find the link between the two homicides.

The team, including Ice and Billy, find the case to be anything but cold. For CJ and Paige, juggling the investigation while trying to keep their love affair a secret proves to be as hard as uncovering long-buried clues.

Awesome

Series Gerri Hill! I never read a lesbian novel with the supernatural before so this was my first and i really enjoyed it. You left the story open so I am assumung there us more to come. You can never go wrong with Abby Craden as your narrator. Her voices are awesome and you always know which character is talking and her voice is very nice to listen too.

Excellent

I’ve listened to more than 120 audio books in this genre, and my most favorite 2 have been Keepers of the Cave and this it’s sequel! Rich characters with drama, suspense, romance. and a lot of good humor! Abby Carden’s CJ is the perfect addition to this story. My Top 2 of 120+!

Love these characters

I hope there will be more stories to come.
The supernatural element makes it a different kind of tale. Different is good. A nice diversion.
Not the kind of thing I would have sought out, but I’m very glad I stumbled upon the first one. I didn’t hesitate to follow up with the next installment for these characters.

A Page turner.

The first book in a long time that has caused me to take short stops and breath.
Good detective story, fast pace and a quiet gentle romance. A very good narrator who is able to create just right atmosphere.

Loved it

You just can't fault Abby Craden. I love her as a narrator.

I enjoyed this series and would love more. Refreshing to not have the 'straight girl gone gay' storyline

A brilliant sequel to Keepers of the Cave

This book is part romance, part police procedural and part paranormal, which I think I enjoyed more than the first book. We see the development of CJ and Paige's relationship into something deeper and more fulfilling, and there is more of Ice and Billy. There is a large helping of 'creepy' that Hill did so well in both Keepers of the Cave and Gillette Park. All of this is expertly narrated by Abby Craden. The whole package.

Plot driven and high tension

This series is great work from Gerri Hill. It has some of the vibe of the Hunter series - investigating homicide with an X-files twist. The main characters are likeable (hang in there) and save each other over and over again. Narration is terrific too. It is best to read the series in order.

Be warned that there are fairly high levels of violence. In the first book there is some self-destructive behaviour including abusive sex. There are references to a past of child abuse and harm to children in both books, so beware the triggers, however the series is ultimately redemptive and hopeful.
