Story
There’s no place like home, especially if it’s Serenity, South Carolina. For Annie Sullivan, though, the homecoming is bittersweet. She’d always envisioned a life there with her childhood best friend, Tyler Townsend. But Ty’s betrayal has cost her the family and the future they’d once planned. For Ty, losing Annie was heartbreaking. Still, he can’t imagine life without the three-year-old son whose mother left him for Ty to raise. Ty wants it all - Annie, his child, and the future he’d dreamed about - and he’s back home in Serenity to fight for it.

Welcome to Magnolia. Fiona is waiting for her court date to come around. In the meantime, she's determined to find a job to help out her mother's struggling coffee shop. As luck would have it, Maggie has heard of a recluse on the far end of the island who is looking for a housekeeper-slash-chef. Even though Fiona isn't the greatest homemaker, she'd determined to give it a shot. Until she meets Jackson. He's dark. He's broody. And he has a secret that she can't quite figure out. As much as she wants to walk away from him, she discovers that there is more to him that he lets on.

Publisher's Summary
When Jeanette Brioche helped launch The Corner Spa in Serenity, South Carolina, she found a whole lot more than professional satisfaction. She discovered the deep and loyal friendships that had been missing from her life. But even the Sweet Magnolias can't mend the terrible rift between Jeanette and her family or persuade her that the holidays are anything more than a season of misery.
Pushed into working on the town's much-loved annual Christmas festival, Jeanette teams up with the sexy new town manager. Tom McDonald may be the only person in Serenity who's less enthused about family and the holidays than she is.
But with tree decorations going up on the town square and a bit of romance in the air, Jeanette and Tom take a fresh look at the past and a hopeful look into the future. Together they discover that this just might be a season of miracles after all.

Narration is terrible, but the book is great!
I started listening to this book series and truly love it. My commute to work is long so I really enjoy audible. So far the previous narrations for this series have been great. This narration is so boring, it’s like a computer reading it to you. Hopefully she doesn’t narrate anymore of this series.

Good Story but Terrible Narration
The attempt at men’s and women’s voices makes this sound like they have low opinion of people with southern twang.
Enjoyed the story but wanted to turn off and read instead.

Same as book 3...
I loved the first 3 books and was excited about continuing the saga until I read reviews of this book. warned about the narrator I hesitated, but at the end decided to give it a try. Narrator was awful, as described by others. Unfortunately the storyline is pretty much the same as book 3, independent and self confident woman struggling to accept interest and love of a man. Same expressions, which was fairly disappointing, "regarded him with dismay" should be the subtitle of the book... also, apparently Maddie's husband name is no longer Bill ? hehe was referred to as Richard at some point towards the end of the book... also, sub story of Mary Vaughn was pretty much predictable based on Ronnie and Dana Sue's story...
I only finished because I listened to it while driving. not sure if I will reach for the next, unless I'm totally bored and have nothing else to read. Sorry Mrs. Woods.
