Story
The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

Story
My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed. But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people. It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor. Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

I didn't mean to star in a sex tape, okay? It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds. It just happened. Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston's nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan. The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family's oil company. Little does she know, that's not the only pipe I'll be laying....

The one that got away. Every girl has one, right? Mine was a charming, British aristocrat who turned my world upside down one summer. Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

My heart opens to Cooper Haywood the moment we meet. How can it resist? He's charming, devastatingly handsome, and sweeps me off my feet before I realize the impact he's making. And then it's too late. We fall too fast to worry about the consequences. We love so hard that we ache when we're apart. Even though I have a past that still haunts me and he has a future that could put us at risk, none of that matters when we're together. Until it does. And then everything changes.

I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

Publisher's Summary
A new, sexy stand-alone from New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward.
It all started with a bet.
When my young son inherited half of his great grandfather’s historic inn, I decided to move us both to the place where I grew up.
Notice I said half of the Inn. The other half now belonged to Levi Miller, the famous quarterback who had other ideas about what we should do with the property.
We won’t mention that I accidentally injured him during our first meeting, causing him to get eight stitches.
You could say we got off on the wrong foot.
We bickered a lot as we both moved into the property while we figured things out.
He wanted to unload the run-down place, which, admittedly, needed a lot of work.
I wanted to restore The Palm Inn to its original beauty and reopen it as a bed-and-breakfast.
We couldn’t agree on anything. So Levi made me a proposal. One he thought I would surely lose. If I could sell out the place by the time he had to leave for training at the end of summer, he would back off and let me run it.
But in the weeks that followed, we got more than we bargained for while we were living under the same roof.
Levi and I got closer, and before I knew it, my nightly fantasies about the brawny Adonis became a reality. Not to mention, he was so great with my son.
We were in over our heads in more ways than one.
Because not only was he the last man on Earth I should be falling for because of our deal, but Levi was also my ex’s older brother.
And now the inn was the least of my problems.

Ick Ick Ick! Disappointed!
This writing team wrote one of my favorite books, 'The Christmas Pact'. By the title might lead one to think it's an overdone plot but really it was unique, imaginative, funny and well developed. Not so with this book, though, just the opposite. By the time I hit the epilog I wanted to throw up... I HATED this story of justified lies and deceit centered around sibling betrayal.
The background story is of a mother starting over by preserving her son's family inheritance and the resistance she encounters from her brother-in-law. Instead the story begins with her twerking naked in the B&B when her BROTHER-IN-LAW walks in and... WATCHES! (ew ew ew!). Getting hot for your living brother's ex-wife, the mother of your nephew (gag) or lusting after your brother-in-law's package is just too over the top for me (seriously - what kind of person does that?)
Where is the romance, the imagination, the banter, the cleaver suspense, that I've loved in the past from this writing duo?
I struggled to finish. I wish I hadn't as the final chapter reveals the offspring these people will become siblings/cousins and its supposed to be funny- ugh do I hear banjo music playing?

Touchdown!!
This is one of the best romances I’ve read in a while. I fell in love with Levi and Presley…and seriously, what’s not to love about a sexy, sports romance?!! Levi is a hot AF NFL MVP quarterback who doesn’t really know what he’s missing in life until it (or she) smacks him right in the face…literally! Presley is a single mom whose had her heart broken by the man she thought was her forever until she finally lands herself the brother she was always meant for. York and Arndt provide exceptional narration for your listening pleasure and enhance the story with their talents. One of Ward and Keeland’s best works imo. And bonus…free listen with membership…SCORE! Don’t miss this 5 star story!!
***Edited to add: Just want to touch on issues noted in negative reviews…there is a taboo nature to this story but it’s not icky imo. The other brother did this h wrong and is basically out of her and her son’s lives. This couple did not go into this thinking… “oh yes, let’s get together and make this weird!” Also, there is nothing wrong with dancing naked in the privacy of your bedroom. And when the H walks in, he’s simply stunned, entranced, stuck in space. He didn’t even know it was HER or that she would be there…JS***

Great book
This was a great little story. I especially enjoyed the last half of the book and felt like the author still a nice job discussing some of the difficulties involved with second marriages. It was quite captivating especially the readers. And they aren’t and Sebastian are really top notch narrator‘s. I highly recommend this book but I suggest just give it a little time and U2 will be hooked. It has a slow start but after that it’s great.

Wow! Fantastic
Whata. great read. I don't know much about American sports and sports life but I know more now. I also know that I loved this book, whata. great listen, full of romantic and sexual tension but also full of angst about family life, making the best of what could potentially be a bad choice (will tring to do up an old b&b be a case of sink or swim?
A brilliant story that had me hooked. Of course the fact that half of it is narrated by Sebastian York was a big plus for me but I really enjoyed listening to Andi Arndt too - the perfect narration from both.

I'm an avid reader and sometimes enjoy reading hot novels as a break from other types of books. But usually I'm never impressed, most of them don't have a good story and are not written very well. This book took me by surprise! Loved the story, couldn't stop. Took me one day to listen to it. Absolutely loved it! Made a note of the authors, will see what else they have.

it OK
I didn't finish this book. because I could see we're it was going. I' just wasn't interested in a woman sleeping with he ex brother. Not my style of book the narrator was doing a good job.

Sexy forbidden romance
When Presley inherits half of a run down inn with her ex boyfriend’s older brother, things aren’t quite as cut and dried as she was expecting. Levi wants to sell, and Presley wants to renovate and re-open the business. After an extremely rocky start a budding friendship ensues. Of course things get a little heated between them, the attraction is real folks. Can anything ever come of banging your ex’s brother, it’s a little awkward and definitely fodder for the small town gossips. It certainly makes for an entertaining read, add in an adorable 7 year old boy and I was in heaven. I absolutely loved the audio version - it didn’t hurt that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York narrated. Together they kept me entertained, along with the fun and sexy words of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward.

Reflection
Too much swearing. The descriptive sex scenes were too crude and vulgar. Disrespectful to the listener.

*4 Stars*
I enjoyed this one a lot. I am definitely getting in audiobooks much more. I love small town romance stories, and this was great, not to mention it has the whole brothers ex thing going on. I really liked both Presley and Levi, and Alex was adorable as well.
I enjoyed these guys getting to know each other, but I really despised Tanner. You knew everything would come to a head at some point, but it was interesting to see how our characters got there and how it all played out.
I loved this audio and how the narrators brought the story to like. Would recommend.
