Publisher's Summary

She will risk everything to rescue her friend.

Frankie’s BFF and four-year-old son are trapped inside a fanatical militia’s compound. In Alaska, no less. Wilderness rescues are so not in the New Yorker’s skill set. But she’ll figure it out. She must.

Bull’s new roadhouse server is a mass of contradictions.

The city girl’s reasons for being in Alaska don’t add up. Bull’s been burned by liars before. So, why is he falling for this crap again? Maybe it’s her big brown eyes, exuberant personality - or her generous, compassionate heart. Whatever the reason is, he cares. If she’s in trouble, he’ll do his damnedest to get her out.

The huge Alaskan is terrifyingly compelling - and heartwarmingly concerned for her.

But Frankie refuses to involve Bull in the deadly mess. Her plan to rescue her bestie will work without anyone getting hurt. As she tries her best not to fall in love, she doggedly acquires each skill she’ll need.

Getting shot, though…that hadn’t been on her to-do list.

Critic Reviews

"Bull and Frankie's romance put me in an unbelievable feel-good happy place I truly haven't been to at all this year. Their story was full of suspense, action, danger, heartwarming family moments, and white-hot sizzling chemistry. I am SO VERY happy with this book that it is almost impossible to contain it!" Bull’s turn

I love this series. All of the brothers are amazing and their woman are even better. This is the third book in the Sons of the Survivalist series. We get to meet Frankie who had come to Rescue to save her friends from the PZ’s. Her and Bull have a wonderful relationship. We get to check up with all of our old favorites and we even get a special guest appearance from Master Z. There is also a great set up for Hawk’s story. I can’t wait.

Much better than book 2

I'm waiting for Book 4 because I think that is my favorite character of the 4 boys rescued from foster care and raised by
an old rapscallion in the wilds of Alaska. The characters are well done and believable. I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought there needed to be more conflict for the hero to resolve.

Excitement, action, danger, love

This series has it all plus the wonderful state of Alaska with its great small towns and abundance of wildlife. The love between two very unlikely people who found they really had so much in common. Love that the unique set of foster brothers have started setting down with amazingly strong and courageous women. The town folks are very likable characters, and having a dog, cat & chickens as pets made it an all around great story. Love the hot sex but wished there was more of it.
Great true dual narration by Gunnar Qualen & Jenna St. Claire.

Bull and Frankie

What’s not to love about a story that delves the depths of friendship, what happens when we are the family member that doesn’t fit in and trust issues. Mix in men who are by definition yummy, a great plot and there ya go. It is fun, emotionally difficult, beautiful, happily ever after.
It is a Cherise Sinclair book.

Story is good; audio falls short

I appreciate the dual-narration, and it was periodically voice acted well, but it too often fell into stilted, wooden readings. There were occasions it even seemed like a text-to-voice computer narration. It was an odd blend of narration quality.
Story was fine though - would probably recommend the physical or ebook versions over the audible narration.

Worth the sleep I lost to finish it

I loved the big finish in book. The tension built and it paid off with the guy getting his girl and the girl getting her guy but so much more.

Great!

I totally enjoyed listening to both narrator's performances and the story. Definitely worth the credit. Now I have to be patient, ha, and wait for book # 4 Hawk's book. Enjoy! 😄

I love it

Bull and Frankie are so good together. Frankie came to Rescue to to do just that, rescue her bestie and her son from the religious fanatics she’s gotten mixed up in. While she doesn’t have a plan of attack, she is learning as she goes and has everything she needs to mount a full scale rescue. Unfortunately all of her plans find her deeper and deeper into trouble. When she finds a job to blend in with the locals, she isn’t expecting to find her boss so hot, and certainly not expecting to find him in her bed..often. Bull has been married twice and burned just as many. He isn’t looking for love, but when the sassy Italian cursing woman working for him catches his eye, he wants her in his bed, maybe forever. If only she wasn’t hiding something from him. Trust is important to him and he’s been burned already. Will they be able to trust one another, rescue her friend and her son, and get their HEA?

Loved this story and listened to it back to back. The narration was great as usual, but Gunnar sounds more like Caz than Bull. Frankie was so funny. With her Italian cursing, fiery temper, and mediator mentality, she fit right in with Macko’s boys and their women. I was really concerned with her thinking she could easily get her bestie out of PZ compound, but it all came together as it should. The climax between the town, Macko’s boys, and the PZs should be interesting.

On a separate note, I can’t wait for Hawk’s story. It looks like we got a set up, so this book will be good.

🌻Lacks the sophistication of “The Shadowlands”🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I continue to listen to this series because I’m invested in the characters. However, there are lots of silly inner dialogues and jilted conversations between characters. This series lacks the polish that CS’s other series have. Maybe it’s because this series isn’t a D/s, BDSM setting, like her previous series and outside her comfort zone; I’m not sure. There are definitely eye rolling moments, although the plot of this book is better than the first two.

I love duet narration but, the narration teams chosen don’t work that well, with each other. The third book is better than the first two but, the narrators still sound like they’re reading lines and the narration doesn’t sound natural.

Even with this series’s shortcomings, I will be listening to the last brother’s story. This book gives an introduction to his lady love(I think) and I’m anxious for these two broken souls to find their HEA!
