Story
Hi, I'm Alexis Delaney. I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead and help them move on. So...okay, I'm not your average 17-year-old girl. Right now, the Veil is shut off, and the Way is closed. Which means the dead can't move on, so, they are camping out on my lawn. I'm trying to open the Way, juggle school and, well, deal with my feelings for two of my best friends.

Forget everything you know about the world. Vampires exist, Werewolves exist, monsters hide in the shadows, and it's my job to make sure they obey our laws. My name is Evelyn, and I'm a gargoyle. The last one or so I thought. A team of Gargoyles have found me. And for the first time in over a century, I'm not the only one of my kind around, which is a good thing since demons are slipping into this world fully formed.

Cricket Kendall's birthday is a little more than a month away. She's just moved to Emery Ridge, Colorado, for her senior year of high school in the hopes her eccentric aunt, Aurora, might help her learn all she needs to know about becoming a full-fledged witch. Just a few days after moving to her new town, Aurora introduces Cricket to a young werewolf from the local pack. Theo Ashbrooke is funny, charming, and super-freaking-hot. Cricket and Theo connect right away, and it doesn't take long before they're spending almost all of their time together.

She survived working at the club and the drive to school every day in her mother's rust-bucket of a car...but it all changed when Noah and Cabe came bulldozing into her life, careless of the precious secrets they picked apart in their quest to take over her world. She was even less prepared for the mysterious Miro and Silas, and nothing could have prepared her for the bond. The connection.

I'm not so different from most people. Like everyone else, I have life goals. Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am. Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete. Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad. Goal #4: Eat popcorn. See? Perfectly normal. Sort of. Gotta start small, after all. It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

Publisher's Summary
My name is Alexis Delaney, and I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I'm a Necromancer. Which means I can see the dead, talk to them, and help them move on. Well, I used to be able to. Someone has sealed the Veil. Now the dead are stuck here. And with the extra energy floating around town, the ghosts are getting stronger.
It's been two months since I came to Spring Mountain to live with Uncle Rory. And the guys, my five best friends, have done everything they can to help since. Things, for once, were almost normal; my issues with the dead had become routine. Until they all found girlfriends.
Now I'm back to hiding everything again. With ghosts leaving their haunting grounds at will and new people asking questions as I try to build my link to the Veil, I don't know how the hell I'm going to pull this one off. But it can't get that bad, right?

I'm conflicted
On one hand this story idea is great, I love the friendship between Lexie and the boys but this book was pointless. In the overall plot nothing happened, it's just subplots and silly drama that gets you nowhere (much like a lot of highschool lives I guess). The other problem I had was that it didn't sound like it was edited, like it was a first or second revision maybe. Just try counting how many times "burst out laughing" is used. Well over 100. And honestly she's not that funny. Like she can be at times but simple things people usually say is suddenly hilarious out of Lexie's mouth.

Lexi needs to not forget her bracelets.
The audio performance is awesome!
If I hear “Sunshine” one more time. Also, girls don’t “Nut up”; that’s so crass. To me the story needs to focus more on Lexi fixing the veil, strengthening her power, and remembering to wear her protective charms ALL the time. To me, sickness as a plot device to have all the guys fawn all over her is just ugh. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Also, I don’t care how open minded you are, cuddling with five different guys is just not ok. Flipping pick a guy. Dylan’s behavior was understandable to a degree. I don’t think the author needed to ditch him in favor of love pentagon. I don’t know that I would continue series if it wasn’t in romance package.

If I heard snickered one more time... grrr
The first book was interesting enough to catch my attention however this book did nothing to hold it.
Incredibly irritating. Between them snickering every five seconds and bursting out in laughter every ten on things that weren't even humorous had me gritting my teeth.
The author needs to pick up a thesaurus because I think she just learned the word snicker and used it about 500 times in the 4 hours I willed myself to listen. Here are a few alternative words. ' grin, smile, smirk, giggle, guffaw, cheese out with the teeth out' seriously just made that up. Come on now, so many different ways of telling us the characters had a good time.
Another irritant was how every girl was such a mean girl. Well if you know the guy you are friends with has a girlfriend don't disrespect her by jumping into his arms and consistently throwing yourself onto them in a flirtatious manner. Show respect to earn respect.
There are so many grievances on how much this book needed just a little more depth to the main character I could go on for days but kudos on writing it and I'm glad so many others liked it. Just not for me.

Dear god make it stop
I got curious about where her storyline about her abilties was going in book one, but I'm not even halfway through this one and I'm too annoyed to continue listening. There's only so much I can take in regards to descriptions of what everyone is wearing, their haircut/colour/style and how HOT their voices are..
I am so annoyed by the repetition of certain words in this book (words such as: snikkered, growled, groaned, smirked, shit-eating grin, smile/small smile/big smile, etc. etc.) that I made a LIST of all the words and make a mark whenever I hear one. That's a first for me!
The other thing that annoys me about this book, and it's present in the first book as well, is the constant repeat of the trope "I'm not like the other girls". We get it! She's not like the other girls!!

So upset I almost didn’t read because it’s YA
I love a good paranormal romance as much as the next avid romance reader and I almost passed this series up because of its YA rating (young adult). I’m so glad I finally listened to it and once I started I could not stop! I binge listened to all the available books in the series. I can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out because this author is awesome and she’s for sure going in my top ten romance author category (maybe even the top three) and my list of favorite authors is looooong! It is a very slow burn story but so totally worth the wait. The series drops the YA rating later on and starts to pick up the steam so that’s a bonus. I love all of the main characters and how positive and healthy their relationships are. No bully romance just wholesome strong friendships where they all look out for each other and the romance feels like it grows from a healthy place. The plot unfolds incredibly well and the twists and turns are awesome without leaving you feeling like you missed something. This just might be my favorite reverse harem series yet! I’ll read and buy these books as fast as the author can write them and even though I usually like to wait until a series is finished before I start it I would wait as long as it takes for her to write more because they are that awesome!

One of the best audiobooks ever
This series is one of the best audios I have ever listened to. The narrator has a beautiful tone of voice which is full of expression and life, she reads fluidly and her voice is soothing to the ear. So good is the quality and voice that I get sucked right into the book, it's relaxing and exciting all at once. The male narrator at the end also has a great tone of voice and it is nice to get the guys perspective in a male voice
I have listened to this audio on more than one occasion and will be listening again in the future. The storyline is epic and one of the best written series I have read so far
If you want a great story with a fantastic audio then get this one as to be honest it does not really get any better than this

Still so good!!
I loved this book. It is the second book in the series but no less amazing and full of action. Reading this it can get really easy to get caught up in the emotions shown. I especially loved the point of view shown from the different boys at the end and how it showed true loyalty and love. Lexi is still a bad ass who doesn’t care about what anyone thinks about her but is still an amazing role model for life (except in certain parts where she needed her friends to help). I loved the emotion shown with Dylan and Lexi near the end (for those who have read it you know what I mean) and I even started to tear up for Lexi. This novel allows you to create emotions for different characters on your own, whether you want to kiss the character for being so amazing or strangle them because you just can’t understand why they are doing this - I know I have felt both. This emotion in my opinion is what makes a book great which is why I love it although there is a lot of swearing so if you don’t appreciate that then definitely don’t read this book. Full marks for me though, it is one of my favourite series.

YES, MORE PLEASE
Book 2
I love the long hours listening to the story. I so do not mind Book 3 and the author's future series to be over 10 hours long.
So Book 2 is a slow build with Lexi dealing with the veil, I personally like it because it leaves more story time with Lexi and all the boys.
Based from the summary we all know the boys have girlfriends now. (SPOILER ALLERT) So there lies the drama, it goes from one guy's girlfriend to the next. The drama was frustrating to listen not because the author or narrator did anything wrong. It was frustrating cos I wanted to punch some of the boys's girlfriend (I know it is just a book) and Lexi having to deal with the girls drama all on her own.
Although we know the books are majority based on Lexi's POV but at the near ending of both books, the author shows another POV from the guys. I like this kind of writing because it shows us more inside to what the boy(s) are thinking.
On top of that, Lexi also have to deal with the souls who are getting stronger. For a 17 year old girl having to deal with so many stuff and in Book 1 shows us Lexi had to be a grown up cos her mother can't take care of herself, so Lexi had to be the adult. Which makes her very mature for a 17 year old.
Anyway, I seriously hope Book 3 will be out ASAP please. I am looking forward to my next hit.
Lastly, I must show my appreciation to the narrators AMAZING JOB, made me so hook into the story.
