Don't waste your time or money on this one!
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Have no idea who would enjoy this impossible story
What was most disappointing about James Patterson’s story?
Love James Patterson but this was totally unworthy of his excellent skills. No one seemed at all surprised to see flying children when, in reality, most people would have been horrified. Also suspect the government would have covered it all up not arranged a party at the end.
What didn’t you like about Kimberly Schraf’s performance?
The main character is supposedly 33 years old. Ms. Schraf sounds like she's late 50's or early 60's. Also, not good at all in changing voice for different characters. Had a hard time telling who was supposed to be talking when the scene involved more than one man.
What character would you cut from When the Wind Blows?
The two people - father and daughter - who were never seen or heard from again after the first couple of minutes.
Any additional comments?
This story was completely unbelievable from the first introduction of a girl who had wings to the end where all the children were happily reunited with their birth parents. Most parents would not be so joyful to find the child they thought had died was really half bird half human.

Not what I was expecting
Decent sci-fi, but far from Patterson's usual storytelling.
Worth a listen in the background while working on a project, but I think I might have put the book down and not picked it back up, for the effort to read it might not be worth it.
Just my opinion.

This story has wings
The fantasy elements of this story were well thought out and executed. I especially liked the basic human nature of the characters and how they interacted. The children, as special as they were, acted like children. Who knows what kind if medical research is being conducted now? This story was plausible and scary because something like this could happen, if not now, then soon.
