Publisher's Summary

It was a bad idea from the beginning. He was my brother's best friend and the definition of unavailable. But I didn't care. I had loved him for as long as I could remember. He was worth the risk. He was worth everything. But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn't there to catch me. So I ran. Four years later, I never expected to see him again. He was still my brother's best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever. He looked every bit the bad boy I knew he was, covered in tattoos and a crooked smile. Guarding my heart from him was top priority because Parker James was where good girls go to die. Unfortunately for him, I wasn't a good girl anymore.

I never wanted this book to end

Dear Holly Renee,

I love you.

This book is awesome and so much more. I loved everything about the story and characters. No book is perfect but the feelings invoked are what make a book great to me and this gave me all the feels.

Stubbornness and misunderstandings that are totally realistic. Chemistry, that’s off the charts. The sex only gets hotter the further in you get - books don’t normally make me blush - I’ve read it all and this wasn’t even kinky but I was definitely blushing and fanning myself throughout.

If you love second chance romances that have a hot-damn steaminess factor with the tattoo factor and general sexiness all around - this is the book for you.

Audio enhanced this long time favorite from HR

AUDIO RE-READ:

I’ve been loving reading new books this way but also love rediscovering old favorites. This was one of my first Holly Renee books and is a long time favorite , and I really loved the audio- a great way to revisit this favorite. This is brother’s best friend (who is also engaged to another lady), LOADS of drama, years of miscommunication and heartache, and a secret relationship.

If you’ve not read Where Good Girls Go to Die- it’s the perfect encapsulation of all that I love about Holly’s romances. So much angst, passionate emotions, and a painful and heart touching journey to get to that HEA. Parker and Liv are also classic Holly Renee characters- they are WILDLY imperfect. They make mistakes…many. And mistakes that hurt each other. It brings a gritty realism to their connection.

Liv is one of my favorite Holly Renee heroines- perhaps because I relate to her so much. She’s internalized and buried a lot of her heartbreak, bottling up and repressing feelings, trying to hide from her pain. She’s a subtly insecure and vulnerable woman, but she buries it in her steely adaptability and her sharp sass. She’s a softy wrapped in her bad-a persona, and I felt for her so deeply.

Both her and Parker are tender hearts at their core-and they will frustrate you with their inability at times to level with each other. The assumptions they make, how they are passive out of fear of rejection. But their ending is oh so sweet and spicy. And both narrators I enjoyed, though I really loved the female narrator- she really captured Livy’s essence, and since I’ve had a major lady crush on her for a while, it was nice to hear her brought to life so perfectly.

Don't waste your credit!!

I could have been listening to a Colleen Hoover book!
This was all bad!!!! Storyline - cheesy and terrible.
Narrating by the female was atrocious.
Just do yourself a favor and unfriend anyone who would recommend this trash to you!

🤷🏼‍♀️

It felt like a cliché story have read before somewhat the same storyline I hate when the character leaves without explaining I kind of was into in the start but it fell kind of short during the middle of the storyline I liked the fact that he worked at a tattoo Poler but Yeah it was a brother best friend story kinda but I feel like there was not much of a story built on that I feel like the brother they made him seem very protective but he really didn’t have that much of a storyline in the book

Livy & Parker Emotional & Swoony

This beautiful amazing book! I fell hard for the incredible narration of Rex Anderson and Katie Magable, their story telling pulled at my heartstrings.

This was an amazing read/listen. Livy and Parker have so much history. The book went back and forth from future to present. It was a little much but also helped to explain their story. Livy and Parker will have you swooning and falling hard for them. Their story is entertaining and so emotional. This is a must listen, brother best friend love story. Get ready to cry, laugh and swoon.

Childish Second Chance Love Story

I don't like to be particularly tough on my reviews but this time I must say I was quite disappointed.
When I first started this book, it was very interesting to read the opening scenes, they were shocking in a good way and led me to want to find out what happened to the main characters and why they were in the situation they were. I also loved the double timelines and POVs, but from the moment they went back home everything went downhill, the story was childish, predictable and shallow. The main characters were extremely selfish and childish, and I really didn't like the misunderstandings between them. The dialogues became repetitive and the plot was almost non-existent. The other characters were not interesting at all, and served only to enreach a book that didn't really have anything to give in the first place, even the spicy scenes that in the reviews where described as beautiful were kind of boring in my opinion. I also truly hated the narrative arc of the hospital and the shower scene. I found the scenes extremely out of place, selfish and I felt so bad for the person in the hospital (little spoiler) whose only fault was not being tattooed and not swearing as much as the main characters, were we supposed to hate her and condone what he did for that? The truth is that he was a bad person, and she was not much better than him.

4.5 star listen

What a story!
Miscommunication causes I crap tonne of wasted years!

Smut level 3/5 loved it
Hea? Yes
Great dual narration. Rex Anderson isn’t actually a narrator I’ve heard before but I was impressed and Katie also did a fantastic job.

Book two in the good girl series is about Livs best friend the piercer and livs brother mason so that should be good!

Where Good Girls Go To Die

This book is edgy, but still a great romance read with all the feels. I really enjoyed it!
