Publisher's Summary

As winter descends on a broken nation, the Homestead survival compound squares off against Mother Nature and an unstoppable wave of human suffering against a violent flu, coupled with desperate mobs and a fanatical warlord.

The Special Forces warriors and their civilian fight force face a moral collapse at home as the founder of the Homestead struggles with the demons of his own, while a secretive group of Homestead women follow their hearts into uncharted waters, tossing the fragile community into further turmoil.

Strange visions, precarious faith, and troubled dreams gnaw at the Homestead, but are keys to their survival buried in their inmost truths?

The saga of Black Autumn continues in book one of the White Wasteland Series.

Confusing and drawn out

The story dumps the listener into a scene with action and characters that the author expects the listener to already be familiar with.

This is NOT the beginning of a story and takes up where a previous series ends. The book does nothing to help a reader or listener new to the setting or characters.

If you have heard of the previous series and have listened or read them it is probably okay. For me, being unceremoniously dumped mid story into an action sequence ruined this title for me. Auditable should consider listing the previous series in the description.

Good luck.

Less religion more action required.

Could have done without all the religion stuff. Excluding that it was a great book. I'm going to read the next one in the series, hopefully it doesnt co train all the religion stuff.

Quite a few surprises!

Wow, kudos to the authors for throwing in a few curve balls, and changing the dynamics of a few characters! It’s very rare that I’m unable to predict events in a book, probably since I read/listen to about 350 books a year, but the authors did a fantastic job of throwing me off. I don’t necessarily like the changes, but I can understand them and why they’re necessary. Furthermore, regardless of my religious beliefs, I find it refreshing to see a book with strong religious ties after SHTF. It’s rare for authors to include religion in a post apocalyptic book, except of course, if the people wind up being fanatics. I think it is realistic to have normal people with strong beliefs, but understand that authors are probably concerned about getting bad reviews by people who are offended. Anyway, I definitely suggest the White Wasteland; however, I highly suggest you read all four books of the Black Autumn series first (another fantabulous series). It is unnecessary to do so, but you will be able to understand a lot more about the characters, such as who each person is, how they relate to other characters and have a better idea of what kinds of people they really are.

"Darn it all to heck!" this a great book!

The Black Autumn book series is just amazing! I fell like I know all the characters in and out of the books from taking part of all the podcasts and content in the real world. it makes this series even that much better. there's so much information layed out in a great story form in all the books and this is just another great entry which could stand alone all by itself. You will not be disappointed with this entry one bit! I love the different look into the different sides of a lesser known faith in my area of the country. it's just a storyline that is almost never looked at in any stories. doesn't matter if you're a believer or not. I hope there is 100 more entries into this series. I'm impatiently waiting on the next one. keep up the great work y'all!

For your book cover- Vol. 2 Book 1

I can only assume I'm a victim of a misprint. This is the second volume of a series and that information did not make it into the book details. This book drops the reader into a (Utah/LDS Church) post-apocalyptic story, which would be okay, if there weren't a spaghetti bowl of storylines and characters to track.

This is not the beginning of the story!

I wasn't expecting to be dumped into the Mormon religion or an existing story.

This was not what I was expecting or into.

Is this some Mormon saga?

Ugh..,. I have a feeling that this some Mormon thing. I am a few hours into it and the Morgan crap is becoming more and more included. I had such high hopes but I think I will just press stop and chuck the audiobook. Not interested.
