Story
With my life back to normal - normal being a very relative word - one would think I’d catch a break. One would be very wrong. With an angel gunning for me and a demon in my bed, life couldn’t be more complicated. Not to mention, I’m going to have to make a rather large life choice. Do I want to live forever? Does anyone? Forever is a very long time. Whatever. I’ll think about it tomorrow...or next week...or next month. As long as I have my girlfriends, my dogs, a super-sized case of merlot, and my deceased squatters, I’m good to go.

Story
Four months of wallowing in embarrassed depression should be enough. I’m beginning to realize that no one is who they seem to be, and my life story might be spinning out of my control. It’s time to take a shower, put on a bra, and wear something other than sweatpants. Difficult, but doable. With my friends - real and imaginary - by my side, I need to edit my life before the elusive darkness comes for all of us.

Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren't bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite, and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe.

Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia, and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it's enough to make a gal fly off the edge. Not to mention a mission...with no freaking directions. So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia, trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I'll get turned into a mortal.

Story
What happens when an accountant decides to grab life by the horns and try something new? Apparently a pirate named Dave, a lot of pastel fleece, and blackmail - just to start with. Visualize and succeed, Oprah said. I was sure as hell trying, even if my campaign to score a job as the local weather girl had ended in a restraining order. Okay, TV was not my strength. But a lack of talent has never stopped me before. Which is why I've embarked on a writing career. I mean, how hard can it be to come up with a sexy romance?

Story
The day after my 43rd birthday, my husband announced he was trading me in - his words, not mine. The news was unwelcome at the time, but honestly? I needed a good goosing to get up and find my way to the door. So I was freed from the giant manual of expectations authored by my ex. That was the good news. The flip side was less happy. Due to living in a state not friendly to discarded wives, I was also relieved of the financial "security" I'd spent a lifetime accruing.

One day, I’m married, living in Seattle, and magic isn’t real. The next, I’m divorced and living in the guest room of my ex’s hotter-than-sin cousin’s place in Savannah and talking to an animated skeleton named Robert. I have to admit, Robert isn’t my worst date. At 41, I didn’t think I’d be starting over. But I’ll be damned if my ex thinks I’m down and out because he pulled a fast one on me. When a job comes my way that offers me a chance to use my childhood training in the shadow world, I take it.

"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Shadowvale isn’t typical small-town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. No one knows this as well as raven shifter Deacon Evermore, who, like everyone in his family, has a curse. While his position as Shadowvale’s peacekeeper lets him use that curse for good, he’d rather live anywhere else. He stays for his family but doubts he can last much longer.

Publisher's Summary
Midlife’s a journey. Enjoy the ride. Crisis included.
Never knew that life after death was far more dangerous than real life.
Never in my 40 years did I think my new normal would be gluing body parts back onto ghosts and hosting a houseful of dead squatters. Thank God for superglue and a strong stomach.
Never thought I’d date the Grim Reaper and that I would be the one to blow it. I mean, how idiotic does one have to be to get dumped by a dude who lives in Hell?
Going about business as usual is not usual in any way. No one is who they seem to be...and to be honest, neither am I. What I’d known to be true has turned out to be myth. The angels are frightening, and the demons are hot. Wait. I mean not. Who am I kidding? The Grim Reaper is very hot - like a freaking pre-menopausal hot-flash hot.
Now I’m in a race against time and all sorts of unsavory supernatural horrors to save my deceased gay husband’s afterlife. And that was a sentence I never thought would leave my lips.
Whatever. I’ll yank up my big girl panties, stock up on wine, and lean on my girlfriends as needed. As they say, when the going gets tough, the tough get inebriated...or something like that.
With everything to lose, I have no choice but to grow some lady-balls. That I can do. I just hope balls will be enough.
I had planned to live midlife in peace, not in pieces.
Good luck to me....

Loved it!
This one is a little more serious than the previous book in the series. It is full of fun and good people, and is everything you would expect from a Peterman book!
The narration is excellent--I love her voice! I couldn't understand all of what the "dead" were saying, but I got the gyst from context, etc, without any confusion. There is also some whispering, so I preferred to listen to this one in a quiet setting, as with the first book.

LOVE IT!
Daisy is back with her hellhound and rescue dog. Daisy helped a ghost figure out her unfinished business. I LOVE DAISY! This series like most of Robyn Peterman's books crack me up. I like the way Daisy helps the ghosts. I miss the way Daisy and Gideon seemed so great together. The narrator for this series is the one who does all the Astrid books. She is so great. I can't wait to listen to the rest. I recommend all of Robyn Peterman's books, especially on audio. Ten times funnier than what i can imagine.

I love this series! Having already read the books I was looking forward to the audio. I am happy to say that the audio book was fantastically done. I love this narrator. She does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. As always Robyn Peterman writes another story full of sarcastic, witty and stong characters that you just want more of. I laughed so much listening to this. I highly recommend.

A thrilling ride from start to end
Wow! I laughed like a loon one minute and cried the next. This is not the sort of book that you can easily guess where its going by the second chapter. This is the sort of book that twists the short and curlies to see if you like it or loath it, and you won't even be able guess which that will be! I don't like wussy books with wishy-washy characters, and this book defo is NOT that sort of book. As the book says of the main protagonist...it has full on huge 'lady balls'. I cannot recommend this enough. I'm just catching my breath before diving on into Book 3.

Another winner!
The story of Daisy the Death Counsellor continues to be riveting, hilarious and addictive. I simply must know what happens next. Gran is the real gem in this piece though. Totally awesome character!
That said, if I were reading these as they were written, and waiting for the next book to be published, the cliffhangers would frustrate me to no end.
