Enjoyable

I enjoyed this three book compilation and it was a great deal vs buying individually.
I loved the narration, the only complaint was that there was not enough Joe Arden.

Jax & Haley

Audible review. Dual POV. Box set includes: 'Good Girl', 'Bad Girl', and 'Wicked Girl'. Book 4 in the series 'Forever Wicked' is not included but has been published and is currently available as an ebook & paperback. Narrators: I always enjoy Joe Arden and this set is no exception; Savannah Peachwood's voice is ok but her overall growly performance is offputting. Trigger warnings: orphaned college student; baby abandoned by her mom then kept secret from her dad by her dad's sister; spousal abuse; 1 scene with light bondage; 2 dads reveal themselves; miscarriage; a failed suicide attempt; and a drug overdose.

Haley is an MIT student in need of a job to stay in school, she applies to work for Wicked Records, and is hired. Jax is a rockstar under the Wicked label going on his last tour. The books span 3 years of their life: a month on tour, 2 months separated, then they back together only to break up and not speak for 2 years, but they finally reconcile get their HEA. JP

This book was hot but it could use some more steam. There is not enough steamy scenes.

Story Drags

The story drags a lot. Narrators could be better. I tried listening to this book 5 times. Each time I got bored and had to go to my favorites.

Four-starred rock star trilogy

It's been about two years since I last read something from Piper Lawson--NSWF, the second book in her Play trilogy--so I welcomed the opportunity to not just re-acquaint myself with her writing but to listen to my very first audiobook from her, and it's a trilogy to boot! The Wicked audiobook consists of the first three stories in that series by the same name--Good Girl, Bad Girl, and Wicked Girl--and it's about one couple, a twenty-year-old college student and a twenty-eight-year-old rock star, whose lives become entangled in ways neither had ever planned for.

Good Girl is where we meet the cast of characters led by Haley Telfer and Jax Jamieson. She's a student who's co-op program requires her to find a job, and he's the lead singer of Riot Act and her celebrity crush. They end up working together when Haley is tasked to back up the sound engineer on Riot Act's latest tour. Haley and Jax clash, but there's an underlying attraction going on. Bad Girl picks up after Haley walks away from Jax once she learns the secret he's kept from her; Wicked Girl is two years after Jax decides Haley has chosen the man he hates over him.

In terms of the Haley and Jax's story as a whole, I did like the dynamic between them, especially once what they had transcended from Haley mooning over the fact that the man she's been crushing on for years is in such close proximity and may very well have a thing for her, too. One thing I didn't particularly like, however, was how it seemed Haley used sex to...entice Jax to do something. On the other hand, Jax had a bad habit of walking away when things didn't go his way rather than having a discussion and finding alternatives or coming to a compromise.

Story-wise, Good Girl gets 3.5 stars, Bad Girl gets three stars, and Wicked Girl gets four stars. Piper Lawson does an admirable job keeping Jax and Haley's romance going over the span of three books, although the middle--aka book two--section falters a bit. Haley's issues with her estranged father and Jax's own situation with parenthood were my favorite aspects of the story because they're more heartrending. Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood perform well over the twelve and a half hours. With 4.5 stars for narration and 3.5 stars for the story, Wicked gets four stars. ♥

Rockstar Trilogy series all in one

This is the box set of the Wicked Trilogy, I got the audiobook version, and let me tell you it's fantastic, narrated by the brilliant Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood, they both did their characters justice and portrayed them well. The story was entertaining to hear, the pacing was good the over 12-hour audiobook passed in a blur. I couldn't stop hearing it. If you love rockstars as I do, this is a must-hear.

This Is A Trilogy That You Have To Listen To

If you have not started this series yet, instead of buying the first three books separately, go for the gold and purchase the set of three books. You’ll be hooked before the first book is even over. One reason is the author has created the perfect character combination of the rock super star with the green behind the ears college student. The other reason is that the narrator combination of Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood who bring the author’s words to life. They add in that emotion that I never seem to get when I read the book myself.

Haley grows up as she journeys from book one to book two. Having the boxed set made my listening pleasure so much easier since I don’t have to do anything but continue to listen. Jax takes us on a ride through a rockstar’s life. We start to see he has a heart and something develops between them. The author has created characters that I could actually see being in the music industry. I liked that she also created a female character that made geeky seem sexy. And the reader can almost feel as if they are part of the crew that travels with the group.

By the time I got to the third book, I thought that some interesting ideas seemed to develop that I have the hope that someone has actually developed a similar program or in the very least have something in the works. There are sad moments which just adds to the realism. The sad part about this was I didn’t have more of the story to listen to and then I became happy because I found out there’s a fourth book and that I’ll get more of the Wicked story that will complete this saga.

this was a great boxset!!

Wow! This story was sooooooo wow!! I wholeheartedly loved the rock star romance between Jax and Hailey along with an the trials and tribulations they went thru to have their HEA!

Hailey just wants to work on her app that will revolutionize the music industry while Jax just wants to be left alone. He's tired of the music industry and his record label. But surprises are in order when Hailey, who's been searching for her father for years, discovers just who he has and how it will affect her new relationship with Jax. I like to think of book 1 as "the before" and book 2 as "the meat of it" and book 3 as the "one that ties it all together"!!

Wonderful narration as well. Both narrators did an amazing job!!

Delicious and Dreamy

Wicked is an age gap workplace romance told in dual, alternating first-person POV. It is a complete series consisting of three installments that should be read in order (all three installments are included in this box set).

I wouldn’t call myself a huge fan of rockstar romances, but I may have to reconsider after reading Wicked! Haley and Jax’s story was incredible, and I love that music was the foundation for their connection. There were so many unique spins on classic tropes throughout all three books; I never knew what would happen next or how the characters would react. Nothing about this story felt formulaic or repetitive; it was so refreshing! For example, Haley is a fan of Jax and his music before they meet, and he even jokes about his poster on her bedroom wall when he first visits. I haven’t read a ton of rockstar romances, but in my experience they tend to have female characters who are the “one woman on the planet” who doesn’t like their music/know who they are, and it was really fun to have a heroine who was an unapologetic fangirl. Exciting stories that manage to be unexpected while still feeling genuine and realistic are my holy grail of romance, and I am definitely going to be delving into this new-to-me author’s backlist looking for more!

The audiobook was perfectly cast! My interest in this audiobook was primarily because I love Joe Arden’s voice. In this performance, he managed to make our hero come across as simultaneously larger-than-life and down-to-earth, grumpy and sensitive, jaded and sheltered; I’m in awe. Savannah Peachwood is a hit-or-miss narrator for me; I find her delivery doesn’t change much to match the characters she is portraying, but she was the ideal choice for Haley! Both narrators did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life in a way that incorporated all the nuance in the writing; it honestly felt like I was sitting with a couple friends recounting the story of how they fell in love - it felt that real! I connected with Jax and Haley both on a level I don’t think I would have achieved if I read the books to myself.

My only disappointment with this series is that it’s over! I want more Haley and Jax!
