Publisher's Summary

A chance to start over...

Eryk's dreams continue to show him visions of his past. This time, it is about when he and Kari were forced into the Endless Desert, a harsh and arid land where the strong rule the weak and creatures known as lamia terrorize humans.

In the present day, Eryk continues to train with Fay Valstine, meet with Kari Astralia, and try to convince his new house pet to behave itself. Lazy and arrogant snakes that sneak into his bed aside, he cannot say he's not enjoying life. But he also hasn't forgotten his purpose. To get stronger, protect Nevaria, and defeat the Great Overlord of the Seventh Realm.

But when Eryk finds himself running out of the funds he needs to refine alchemy pills, he must contact the head of the Alchemist Association, Feinrea Kunis, and convince her and Fay's father to join him in a joint business venture that will hopefully solve his financial problems. If he can't convince them to work with him, then he can kiss his dreams of growing strong enough to achieve his goals goodbye.

Warning: In case you didn't get this from the explicit content warning label on the cover, this series is rated R18 for adult situations, graphic violence, nudity, sex, illustrations depicting nudity and sex, and harem relationships. This series is not for the prude of heart.

please release more

Thank you for giving us a great novel to listen too keep up the good work but I wish you had a forewarning every time we switched between the past and present it can be very confusing when listening but all in all I see no other problems. I'm looking forward to seeing more novels written by you.

Same problems as the last book

The story still goes back and forth with the 2 timelines and honestly the original timeline is unimportant. The author could have summed up the original timeline in the first book and then continued in a linear fashion but it is still mixed up. I'm putting this book down and probably returning it later. If you can look passed the annoying first timeline then there is a good 3-4 hours of story in here that is pretty good.

As always the Actors Everywhere cast did a great job.

Edit: I decided to push through and just skip through the original timeline parts. I listened to snippets of it and got the gist and then moved on. Each chapter has about 9-15 minutes of OT. After I started skipping the book became a lot more enjoyable.

decent story but...

I like the story and narration. the past dreams are alittle annoying. I understand the backstory is helpful but his detailed dreams of his past seem like too much info. Faye is alive so it is proven that he can change past events and the book is short to start. but I enjoyed it overall. with such a young mc some of his social awkwardness could be explained but considering he is actually old with all his memories he should not be so socially inept.

Things fall into place

I absolutely love this book.
The only thing I hate is the fact that it's so damn short!

Jessica Threet and Chris Boucher knock it out of the park and really make you believe in these characters joys and sorrows.

I like where everything is going though the "cloaked woman" part is a little on the nose. Otherwise it's great, I cannot wait for book 3 and I really hope the author does books 3-4 together in one audiobook so we get something more like 12+hrs instead of two 6+.

keep this series coming

I was a little hesitant about this series when I finished the first book, but now that I finished the second I'm really into it and I'm looking forward to the next few books coming out.

similar to Tales of Demons and Gods

I enjoy it even though it is similar in many ways, but I am listening in case there are any differences to really get me in
