Publisher's Summary

From the embers of a burned America rises new hope … and a new threat.

Two years after an attack brought down the electrical grid across the United States, the recovery effort is well underway. A new network of armored trains carry supplies and industrial equipment crucial to rebuilding the country.

But along the rails, one area of America is still mired in darkness, violence, and danger. Some call it the Badlands. Others the Wild West. The government simply refers to it as the New Frontier.

Retired Marine Sergeant Sam “Raven” Spears makes a living tracking down people and treasures in this lawless void. When raiders target a supply train in the New Frontier, Colorado Sheriff Lindsey Plymouth asks Raven to work with ex-Navy SEAL Calvin Jackson to secure the train’s vital cargo. All is going to plan until one fateful disaster changes everything.

As the trail heats up to find those responsible, a mysterious virus starts spreading across the New Frontier. Raven soon realizes the two events might be connected.

If he doesn’t find the insidious forces behind this conspiracy, the entire country will go up in flames.

Listener Note: New Frontier is a brand-new series set in the bestselling Trackers universe by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. For listeners of Trackers, this spin-off written with Anthony J. Melchiorri takes place two years after the end of Trackers 4. While Trackers was an EMP/war story about the destruction of the power grid in America and the chaos that followed, New Frontier is a story about the aftermath. For new listeners, you can dive into New Frontier without hearing the four Trackers books.

Awesome new series

Raven and Creek are back in this awesome new adventure set two years after the events of the Trackers series. America is trying to recover from the downed power grid and the government has taken to the rails to move supplies from the east coast to the west, but some of that is badlands country run by outlaws and militant groups, and they don’t mind staging a train robbery, but the trains of this time are protected too, and by people like Calvin Jackson retired Navy Seal. But with this latest run there seems to be a mysterious illness tied to the newest train robbery, but can Raven and Calvin track it down before it kills their love ones or them?
This is a great new series (note you need not have read or listened to the Trackers series to start this one, but it is still a wonderful series too) by Nicholas Sansbury Smith and Anthony Melchiorri. This book has the non-stop action and suspense we have come to love. The audio narrator Bronson Pinchot did a great job and has really settled into to this series well. I can’t wait for more.

Wonderful performance by Bronson Pinchot

It was great to catch up with familiar characters from the Tracker series. Raven & Creek are back at it. Doing what they do best - kicking butt & taking names if anyone survives the encounter. This series starter is an excellent introduction to this cast. If you've not read the previous series, it may make you want to read them at a later time, but this book will keep you guessing and second guessing as life in a post EMP attack on America is anything but normal. The Audible book is performed by the very versatile Bronson Pinchot. You will enjoy this adventure.

Wildfire is Hot!

The tracker series was my first introduction to Nicholas Sansbury Smith. Nick has an awesome talent of hooking you and dragging you into his books and giving you characters that you love to love and love to hate. His books are always intriguing action-packed, interesting and keep you hooked.

Wildfire is no exception when it comes to Nick's books. You hit another home run with this one Nick and I am looking forward to book 2.

Bronson Pinchot is a fantastic narrator bringing each character to life with their own unique personalities. He is one of my favorite narrators.

Glad to see Raven and Creek return!

So happy to see Raven and Creek return in a brand new series, New Frontier! If you haven't listened to the first series, Trackers, I highly recommend it! I've been excited about this book since it was first announced and it didn't disappoint! Then again, none of Nick's ever do. Wild Fire, and the entire first series, is an excellent post-apocalyptic series with a great story and great characters! I'm happy to see that Bronson Pinchot narrates this series. He did a great job in the first series, and it's nice to hear the familiar voices as I listen! Can't wait for book 2!

Going to be a good series.

I have listened to both authors and they did a great job in writing this book. I was still expecting the virus to turn into a zombie book and when it didn't happen I was not disappointed.... but book two hasn't came out yet we will see.

Excellent. Enjoyed Every Second.

It's fun to go into a story you enjoyed but partially forgot about. Returning to the world created in Trackers was even more enjoyable than I expected. Nicholas Sansbury Smith and Anthony J. Melchiorri were able to bring characters and the world post-Trackers to life in a way even I didn't see coming. But also would have been perfectly acceptable to just jump into it without reading the former series. I love when there's enough detail in it without rehashing all the things that happened in the previous books. Especially in a book like this where it's not Trackers 5, it's a continuation of the Trackers storyline but not a direct link to the original series.

The combination of the "Trackers" moments and the new storyline elements (the armored trains (and those who support and protect them) and a new dual threat of Wild Fire and the mysterious group promising a cure) had me on the edge of my seat throughout this one.

I don't like spoiling the stories, so I'm going to try and talk about it without talking about it. But the biological aspects of Wild Fire were fascinating to me. Nick and Anthony are already great at writing Post-Apocalyptic stories, but they took it to the next level with this one. Even the world, I'm used to Smith writing worlds that are on the brink of falling apart (and this one was, too). But I always felt like I was going to blink, and the world and all the characters would be gone. In Wild Fire, it was similar, but they were able to make it feel like it was starting to get better, and they needed to KEEP it at that stage. It was a nice change from the normal PA books I read and a welcome one.

Overall, Wild Fire is a series I cannot wait to continue. The characters I remembered were awesome, and the new ones were just as interesting I cannot wait to see where Smith and Melchiorri take them. Pinchot's narration was really well done. Taking each character and making them his own while also believably performing the book.

The start was a bit slow to me after having just finished re-listening to the trackers series. But it definitely finished strong and left me looking forward to book 2
