Publisher's Summary

Teresa July has led a hard life, but now she has a chance to put her train-robbing past behind her. Armed with a new job as a cook to one of Philadelphia's elite families, Teresa is determined to start her life anew, and nothing - not even her boss' stuck-up (and far too handsome) son - is going to stand in her way.

Madison Nance is sick of his mother taking in women from the wrong side of the tracks, just to see them turn on her generosity. That's why it's up to him to keep a close eye on Teresa's every move. At least, that's the only logical explanation for why he can't get the young woman out of his mind.

But when a woman from Madison's past threatens Teresa's future, the two reluctant lovers must join forces if they're ever going to have a chance at happiness.

Never disappointed!!!

Once again Ms. Jenkins has captivated my mind and entertained my heart. I love these fiction novels with historical facts. Each book leads me to another figure of black history - MY HISTORY!! I'm learning while I'm being entertained. I love it! I love it! And of course Kim Staunton did her thing!!

Mediocre.

Incorrigible, really??? the author seems to use that word in all of her books. Also, the love scenes are too cliche and I was not impressed with Teresa being a tough outlaw but at the same pretending to be "meek and mild"; the contrast was boring. Maggie was the only personality true to character.

Mild Sweet love

Okay this is probably my second favorite B.Jenkins book. I love Teresa and Madison. I have waited for years for the audiobook version even going so far as writing audible to request them to get this added to the library. Somehow I missed the release of so many of my favorite Ms Jenkins books this year, but when I did notice I was beyond excited to see so many titles now available to listen. However, it was dampened a bit when I saw they were all being narrated by Kim Staunton. She has been the go to for many of the newer releases of Ms Jenkins novels and I was first okay with her because she is definitely better than the monotony of Robin Eller who narrated Indigo and Vivid. However, Ms. Staunton's delivery leaves so much to the imagination only mild attempts are made to change character voices , and Im sorry she just sounds to old to be narrating those passionate seens, feels like I'm listening to a great-aunt read. She really dampened my image of the wild Theresa she made her sound too weak. And with one mispronunciation she has made me not want to purchase one of my other favorites "A Chance at Love", the main character, Loreli, who is mentioned a few times in this book has some how become Lorellee. I don't know if I'll be able to stand listening to it, heavy sigh. Was the author even consulted prior to recording.
