Publisher's Summary

While on vacation, Hayden Blake and his ex-boyfriend get into an ugly argument. Needing some space, Hayden storms out of their rented cabin and gets not only lost it in the dense woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but injured, as well. Being rescued is a miracle, but being rescued by a man who looks like a Norse god wearing plaid...that's a dream come true.

All Kurt Jorgenson wants is to go hunting and bag a sizable deer, but instead, he finds Hayden Blake, a city boy lost in Kurt’s forest. He takes Hayden home to care for his injuries, but Kurt finds himself drawn - in ways he hadn’t dreamed existed - to the young man he’s rescued and installed in his spare bedroom.

Kurt yearns to be everything Hayden needs, but he doesn't know where to start. Hayden desires Kurt and longs for a home, but he's not sure he has anything worthwhile to offer in return. However, with the help of a nosy librarian, a trip to Walmart, a pig named Wilbur, and cops bribed with cheese, Kurt and Hayden may find their way to a well-deserved happy ending.

Wild by Nature is a romance novella with a displaced twink, a confirmed bachelor, improper library behavior, pasties, shirtless wood chopping, fuzzy cows, and gas station pizza. It contains men falling in love, falling into bed, and just falling. Not necessarily in that order.

Note: This version has been expanded to include a new epilogue.

Sighing

This story isn't awful. It's fine as far as it goes, but the story is predictable in its presentation of Hayden Blake, the IT twink who has to be rescued by Kurt Jorgensen, the Nordic-god lumberjack whom he nicknames Thor. Hayden had managed to get lost and hurt in the woods, which is where Kurt finds him on his way to his deer blind. The daddy kink is weird, especially since Kurt hadn't been out before he found Hayden and had to teach himself about gay sex on the library computer because he didn't own a laptop. The age gap did nothing for me either, and I'm normally a fan of such stories...probably why I asked for an ARC. I was disappointed by the characters -- the secondary characters were also stereotypically good or bad -- by the dialogue, by the whole thing. Michael Ferraiuolo made listening to it bearable with a great performance, as always.

Daddy Thor and Hayden are adorable

I loved this audio. The book was fabulous when I read it but MFer really brings the story to life. I love Daddy kink and FTG so this book/audio checked ALLL the boxes. Haden and Kurt are #relationshipgoals. They get along so well and they have genuine fun with each other. I've enjoyed every narration by MFer and this is no exception. Read it, listen to it, love it.

Lynn packed a lot of story in just a short book and Michael’s voices for Thor/Kurt and Hayden were spot on!

Thor Saves Buttercup! 💖🌈💖

Wild by Nature was one wild, fun, and sweet lil romp that had me smiling, over the rescue of a lovely lad by a Viking God. Close proximity between the two allowed for a delicious relationship to blossom and grow. "Sex-Ed for Grown Ups 101," classes taught in the small town library via the internet, instinctive wants, desires, and needs met by one another, doctors who still make house calls, neighbors who deliver luggage, a menagerie of just enough farm animals to help make ends meet, and one sweet pig named, Wilbur, of course. Angst is nil, hotness is smokin', smiles are plentiful.

This goes in the "PickMMeUps!" pile. Loved it! 💖
If you are on the hunt for a story to lift your spirits right now, this will absolutely do the trick!
Michael Ferraiuolo, quite stupendous, as always!

Daddy Thor

I loved the ebook but the audio kicked that love up to a million.

Hearing that scene where Daddy Thor is looking up how to do what he was curious about in the library made me die laughing.

The narration by Michael F was perfect.

Daddy Thor!

Hayden turned Kurt out and made him his daddy of a life time. How sweet it is to read a story about a clueless, innocent, sex god, who knew nothing about having sex with another man. This was a different take regarding a daddy, boy, relationship. It was refreshing. I also loved the small town, warm vibe, of the story, along with the life of farming. Every animal gets a thumbs up. They allowed the reader to see how precious these two characters truly were in the story. This was a feel good read. And the narrator was amazing. I so recommend! Enjoy!

Soo wonderfully sweet

Curt is one of the sweetest characters I have met in a long time. I love Hayden and Curt! Lynn Van Dorn wrote a perfect story, with Michael’s narration this was a great short story with a total HEA. Hayden gets lost in the woods and injured to be found by a beautiful mountain man and the story goes from there. There is low angst and totally sweet and sexy daddy kink. Great read but amazing listen. 5 stars!

Grwat book, full of snark

When Kurt stumbles across Hayden, he believes its a dead body, but luckily Hayden spoke at the right time. After nurturing Hayden back to health, Kurt realises he has feeling for the young man that he's saved.
Will a Romance develop or will ahaydens boyfriend finally turn up and start looking for him.
This book has the right amount of everything, love, laughter, snart, age gap. First time gay. You name it, it's in this book.
Narrated Well by Michael, I would highly recommend.

Hayden gets lost and finds his Hero!

Michael Ferraiuolo does an excellent job of bringing these strong, quirky characters to life, and Lynn Van Dorn's story set in the Wilds of the Upper Peninsula and a small mountain town is just fun. With an interfering librarian and a mentally abusive ex, Hayden finds himself lost in more ways than one until Kurt (who coincidentally looks like a Norse God) finds him hurt and half-dead near his remote cabin. Kurt comes to realise what Hayden really means to him as he looks after him for days. With the father of all self-discoveries, the two finally come together as they were meant to in spite of those who try to pry them apart. Highly recommended with HEA and a Daddy kink MM romance.

good story great narration

This story was really good, lighter on the Daddy side but I didn't fine it lacking at all. It was different from her other books but in a good way I think. The narration was really amazing and while it was a short listen I still enjoyed it a lot.

Not really a daddy kink

Not my favorite, but not bad either. I knew this would be short, but it was too fast for my liking. It had so much potential, I love a good forced proximity, but I didn't think it was well done here. Also, I couldn't like Hayden, I think that was the biggest problem. Not really daddy kink, but it was steamy. Mr. Ferraiuolo is amazing as always <3

Pleasantly surprised

I picked this up without realising it was daddy kink. It's a kink that is not for me and I was dubious about whether I could finish it. I shouldn't have worried. This was more a caring kink on one side and a cheeky minx on the other. They would have worked together without the 'daddy' word.
Kurt is adorable. A proper mountain man and a gay virgin. He's the perfect foil to Hayden.
Honestly, don't worry about the kink, just grab this book. It's lovely.

good

This was a new to me author but a narrator I had previously listened to. The story itself was why I wanted to grab this book. It turned out to be a good story. It was low on angst when it could have been pretty dramatic if the author had wanted. The narration was on point for the story.

Thor and the City Slicker

I adore Lynn Van Dorn, so I was thrilled to see she had a new book coming out. I saw it wasn’t from the North Shore stories series and was intrigued. I’m so glad I nabbed this one when I had the chance. Different, yes, but just as good.

Hayden is just like any other naïve city boy – he heads out without proper gear while in the backwoods of Michigan. Now, he also left in a snit, so he didn’t think go even grab a good coat, and he also believed he’d be back shortly, so nothing to worry about. A tumble later with no cell service and he realizes he’s in trouble. The kind of trouble that could get someone killed. With a bad ankle and no idea where he is, he hunkers down for the night and hopes he’s not going to die.

Kurt knows these woods. He’s lived here his whole life, not really seeing the need to live anywhere else. He’s got his farm and that provides everything he needs. He hunts to shore up his food stores, but other than that, he’s got a good thing going. I’m envious of his simple life. He’s practically off the grid and I wonder what it would be like to not own a computer. To not be a slave to the internet.

Well, anyway, when he comes up a stranger on a cold morning, he assumes the young man is dead. When he discovers the city kid isn’t dead, his protective instincts kick in and he takes the young man back to his home, tends to his wounds, and calls a doctor. Hayden’s got a sprained ankle and since trudging in and out of Kurt’s place is a hassle, it’s decided he’ll stay for a few days until he’s recovered. His personal situation is also a little dire and he doesn’t necessarily have a home to go back to. That’s a whole other story. As he contemplates life at Kurt’s, he ruminates:

No computer, no smartphone, no internet, no decent T.V. How did the man live? Hayden wasn’t sure, but it probably involved a lot of chopping wood and went a long way to explaining Kurt’s muscles. Still Hayden wasn’t sure he could survive in such circumstances.

So how to pass the time? Well, Hayden has some ideas. He’s out, proud, and not afraid to go after what he wants. And he wants Kurt. Problem? Well, aside from not even knowing if Kurt’s gay, there are logistical issues such as a sprained ankle.

Kurt, for his part, is confused. He tried dating women and it didn’t stick. He just kind of figured he’d be alone for the rest of his life. Then this young man (and there is a significant age gap) blows into his life and suddenly he’s having carnal thoughts. He’s curious, so he heads to the library to research – one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever listened to. I was howling with laughter. He comes home armed with supplies and determination. He sees Hayden as his bunny slope. A nice easy way to work his way up to the black diamond run.

In so many ways this is an opposites attract with a bit of daddy kink thrown in. Hayden’s ex shows up for added drama, but in the end the men realize sometimes being different can be a good thing. And loving Wilbur helps.

I really adored this story, and Michael Ferraiuolo’s narration just added to my enjoyment. This author/narrator collaboration really works, and I hope Ms. Van Dorn brings more of her books to audio. I know I’ll be the first in line to pick them up.

Sweet story

This was a very nice and sweet story of a first time daddy and chance encounters/. I loved both Aiden and Kurt. They fit so well together and seamlessly. Their story is full of hot, funny and sweet moments. The story just grips and doesn't let you go. Michael Ferraiuolo's voice just brings all the characters to life so well, the good and the bad ones (and makes you want to really kick the bad ones). His voice just takes hold of you and is another reason why it s so hard to stop listening to this book

Adorable and sweet!

It's no secret that I love Lynn's writing but there's something very special and magical about this story. Hayden is rescued by 'Daddy Thor' aka Kurt who lives in a cabin which is as far away from how Hayden is used to living as it's possible to get. But their chemistry is off the charts and as the story develops they see that they are exactly what each other needs. I adore the acknowledgement of need in this story and how the suspension of what 'should be' is addressed.
Michael Ferraiuolo's narration brings Kurt and Hayden to life in a way that adds a new dimension to an already adorable story. You don't want to miss this one. It has everything - humour, a bit of angst (not too much), scorching heat and a HEA to make you swoon!
